I have owned the e935 for several years. Excellent mic so when I bought a second backup, I opted for the e835s due to the switch and not needing as robust a mic. Bottom line is the e835s is excellent, all around. Not quite as good as the e935 in lows but still very good for the price.

I use this for event coverage and it's awesome. The on/off switch is a big plus and the sound it collects is silky smooth to my ears...well, at least as silky smooth as event coverage goes.

Definitely a lead vocal mic; not designed for distance mic'ing. Does have a proximity effect at close mic'ing. Switch is quiet as advertised. Very similar to Samson S2; but has a switch.
