Whoever gave this package a 1 star rating was very inexperienced. I had to write this because I knew EXACTLY why he wrote that and I laughed. Practically every mic clip comes with a brass insert that can be removed to accept standard USA mic stands. The insert has been used overseas where their stands have a different mount. You can use a screwdriver or coin (Quarter etc) to unscrew the insert.

I own Shure Sm58's and this is on par but is actually louder than the Shure sm58. They ran out of the sm58's so I gave this a test run. Man what a powerful mic! It does have some high pitch feedback but adjusting the volume and the position eliminates it. Overall quality is superb and comercial grade. Cant go wrong with this mic at all and is worth every penny. I use this on a Bose compact L1 and on any amp I have and it works perfectly. This is a lelad singers mic for sure as it cuts through. ... I have personally used these mics as well as the band and they are as good as you can get for the price... with one exception, being for Hip-Hop performers. While in Las Vegas we leased one of our sound systems to a local venue who had a great deal of hip-hop artists, many beginners, who performed there. Unfortunately, these mic's are too sensitive for missuse and vocals that should be mic'd with a kick drum microphone. If you are working any other genre of music where clearity is imperative, these are the mic's for you, without busting your budget! -JJ Spangler aka The Fireman ... More

Extremely reliable and accurate sound capture. Attractive, low profile handle and grill. Durable mic element and very durable finish - this looks great after a long life of varied usage. This mic has worked well for on-stage performance, public address, home studio recording, computer speech recognition, and ham radio transceivers, and it has sounded good every time. Mine looks brand new after many years. Substantial feel and feels good. I have performed specific A/B comparisons with similar products, some costing much more, and it compares best and beats the rest, including, for example, way better than the Heil PR-20, costing half again as much. The Sennheiser e-835 is an excellent value. ... More

This is a great performance mic. It does not pick up monitor, but as any great performance mic. You have to have it close to your mouth. You most differently need a windscreen when your that close to stop the sound of your breath when you inhale or exhale when not sining or speaking. This mic gives very clean reproduction of your voice. It will pickup the smallest Imperfections. So that said you need a great sound person. The right sound person can make almost any decent singer sound great. Get this mic if you want a really good mic, and order a windscreen for it as well. It will keep your mic healthy and you can wash it out after performances to keep germs away. ... More

I need a mic preamp to use this (and all other stage mics) for voiceovery, but ntil that gets here, the E835 a few inches away through a pop-filter is turning out great voice samples. Much less finicky about other noises than the AT2020 condenser I got. I'm not in a band, but I have dropped it. schlepping my booth. . That stage ruggedness does come in handy. Thru a loz- hi-z transformer and instrument jack in the Scarlett interface, it gives a little more volume and less noise (the interface is not top-drawer in the preamp). .When the dbx286s gets here I'll run it against the AT2020. Might be all I'll need....sounds smooth and not painfully-crisp.....just righ for a polished souind. ... More

I just got to use the mic in both a rehearsal and a live performance. The sound couldn't be better: I can sing as low, as high, as soft and as sharp as I want to, and this microphone is going to capture everything exactly as it is. There's no metal-ish feeling; it sounds as real as my voice does. The shape is super appealing and it's very easy to hold and move. I. Love. It. I think the only con is that it's a little bit heavy, but all the good mics are.

I have been a professional vocalist/entertainer for over 30+ years, and have performed with many different brands of microphones. The e835 has got to be one of the best sounding microphones I have ever used. It delivers a clean, crisp sound ... and will enhance your vocal quality. In my opinion, this microphone surpasses the legendary and popular SM58 , for live vocal performances ... hands down! If you like the SM58, you're gonna LOVE the Senn e835!!! It's now my favorite go to mic. This mic will not disappoint!!

I didn't get familiar with these until maybe a year or two ago. Since then I have started selling my SM58s one by one. Only two remain!! For live sound, I feel like this mic makes everyone sound better. With some vocalists, a 58 just never sounds GREAT to me. This mic makes my job easier - everyone just sounds good! Great clarity without any EQ - none of the boxy cardboard 58 sound. Save a band on your EQ! I think it also sounds decent for the home studio on a budget, with better midrange clarity compared to similar style mics or cheap condensers. ... More

Love this mic. I have AKG, Shure, and some knock offs, all in this under $100 price range. They all do what I need for live music gigging, but this Sennheiser e835 really stands above them in terms of Clarity and volume. It has a great windscreen as well. I have facial hair at times, and other mics tend to grab it. This mic does not. If that's helpful at all. Great mic. You will be pleased for the price. Mine was an older German model in great condition. Thanks, Reverb!!

I have been using both e835 and e835 S (switch) almost 15 years. Good mic (especially the S model) however I recently acquired a e935 S ...... Must tighter Cardioid pattern ..... less Feedback my new Go-To Mike. Guitar Center should carry all of the Sennheiser Mikes with the switch option (only $10more)

Having tested this for several gigs (mostly church) I can honestly say it is a night-and-day difference between the old Shure PGA48 that I was relegated to (a free mic is a free mic). Much more present/clear sound and better control over volume with distance. It doesn't just completely cut out at 2", but rather tapers gradually as you move away. Really nice for those belted notes. I'm sure that means there would be some handling noise compared to some other mic models, but I use it on a stand so that isn't an issue. Definitely satisfied.

We've been using this Mic for about 4 years. It holds up great. The biggest plus, and the reason we purchased, is because these mic's have a much clearer and better response to vocal's than the Sure's. If you don't believe me, just try it out in the store. The vocals are much clearer.

There is always a place for the tried and true sm58, but, this mic IS the 58 killa!! Does everything a 58 can and sound better doing it. Been hearing about this mic forever and finally snaged one. And it's all that and then some. Much more than i expected sound wise. Buy one. It will stay in your mic closet/mike case for recording for live audio (i have 4 now, 2 in my studio and 2 in my live sound rig.).

This microphone does it all very well. I have used mine for over a decade for use with computer speech recognition, ham radio, public address, vocal music performance, and general speech recording. I am a microphone junkie, with many other quality microphones and this one does it all well. Solid feel with enough weight and ballast for hand-held use, with a rich, expensive-looking, extremely durable finish. Money well spent. TT

Havent had any problems with feedback or sensitivity. Low handling noise is always a plus. Folks like to drop these mics but still no issues and work great. Usually have to add in some AMBIANCE since the sound isn't as "full or warm" Overall an Awesome Mic!

Great value - wonderful product. Same quality and durability of an SM58 with a slightly different tone. I have found it to be warmer and more pleasant for novice singers - helping them improve their sound.
