This is a great mic, easily compared to much more expensive mics.

Even with levels dialed up to 100 and standing 10 inches away, it barely registers -24db. When files are imported into audio editing tool for inspection, the sound quality is basically the same as an in-camera DSLR microphone! Using phantom power instead of battery improves pickup slightly, but I bought this model so I wouldn't have to rely on phantom power! Also annoyed with lack of on/off switch and power indicator lights.
