The design is incredible and the weight of the mic is perfect. Considerably one of the most flexible and perhaps the best dynamic mic considering the price and it's charming features. I did a hefty research prior to purchasing a mic. Looked into various sites, different reviews, and expertise opinions on every microphone out there and ultimately encountered the SE Electronics V7 microphone. Many reps will make a simple, unattractive recommendation as saying Shure SM58 or any industry standard (Senheiser, AKG, Audio-Technica, etc). Many reps are not aware of SE Electronics nor its V7 microphone. This mic will be the replacement for the industry standard when noticed by more consumers. The packaging I can say was absolutely professional and attractive with its detailed features on there and the design and proper packaging feeling as if I had bought a brand new Apple product. SE Electronics is absolutely impressive. I will be utilizing this mic for vocals for myself and a female vocalist in our band. This will feature a clean voice and an upgraded performance result. I will bet that your investment on this V7 microphone will be a game changer and a much different reality of the audio world. ... More

The V7 isn't my favorite live vocal mic, but it's my favorite in the SM58 price bracket. It's main strengths are twofold. First, it has incredibly natural, condenser-like high end, very extended without annoying peaks that you have to hunt down with EQ. There's a light de-essing dip around 6kHz. It is clear and not harsh. Second, the capsule mount is tuned such that handling and stand noise cause rumble down around 50Hz, instead of around 150Hz like with most dynamic mics. There's not less of it, but it's way lower in frequency. That's super-smart engineering, because I can highpass out rumble around 50Hz without affecting the tone of a vocal at all, whereas 150Hz is right in the middle of the action. Great design decision. Cons: The polar pattern gets a little sloppy above 4kHz, but that's true of every mic in the price bracket. It's also somewhat susceptible to hum/buzz (not more than the SM58, but more than most modern designs). So it's not ideal for super quiet stuff in electrically noisy environments. ... More

Hello, I received the eS V7 microphone today item # 1060338987 and I'm somewhat displeased. Probably not with the way it sounnds comprable with the Shure sm58 or Beta 58. I'm sure it sounds just fine but the chrome finish Someone should teach the Chinese how to do plating. I'm sure they dunked it but it was not properly prepared . I got a guy over here who does custom plating whatever, chrome, nickel, brass, copper, etc anmd when they're done, you can see your face in the part and not brush marks. Just terrible!. You more than likely sell alot of these seeing their chrome but this eS V7 even has to take a back seat to the older EV 664. Listen, I'm definitely going to have this re-chromed and was wondering where can I get the red and silver eS logo for the side as it'll get destroyed in having it re-done? I don't dare show this to anyone let alone telling them I paid a hundred bucks for it. Open up one for yourself. You don't have to be a fanatic to see what I'm talking about. ... More

I finally got a chance to test this mic at a gig and, I'm sorry to say that after one song I went back to my EV ND 767a. I was really disappointed after all of the reviews that were so positive. In my world if something does not perform up to my expectations or does not give me what I need it's gone.

The Kawhi Leonard of microphones. Natural and built by a humble company called SE Electronics. Has all the fundamentals and the features are incredible. Impressive is what I can say. This is the present and the future. SE Electronics has done it! Replaced the "industry standard".

Incredible microphone! So much better than the 58. Great on vocals with very little to no EQ needed. Actually did a test against the Neumann KMS104 and besides a gain difference this mic performed better in the low and low mids, and kept up with the highs. Incredible price for the quality you receive.

This mic is magic for rejecting unwanted sound sources. It requires good mic technique because the cardioid pattern is really tight and drops off sharply. Other than that, it sounds like a slightly less boxy 58, which is pretty much exactly what I’d want.

It's an amazing microphone. The build is very durable, the body is solid and the grill doesn't give or dent when a decent amount of force is put on it. The sound as well is fantastic; it doesn't need a lot of EQ and can be used for recording as well for live performance. A pop filter or a foam windscreen is needed though as the built-in foam doesn't work the best. I can't recommend it enough especially for the price.

I love the V7. It is very bright for a handheld dynamic but has extension into the low end so it can be boosted if necessary. Even though the V7X is technically instrument mic, I feel like having the V7 and V7X gives you a huge tonal pallette for both voices an instruments. It is a much better route than buying a $300+ "broadcast" mic. Oh, and the black grill makes this V7 sound atleast 25 percent better than the one with the silver grill ;)

As extra-freq microphone, this is awesome. Near noise floor, a tiny wide-band buzz. similar to a Shure sm57 I tried. Have tried filtering many things...seems to be magnetic thing. Fine for stage or podcast, not sure on voiceover. I EQ-d a Senn E835 to flatten it..that will do for now. Maybe some mu-metal shielding, guys? Other mics are OK,

Great for singing, very smooth result. Comparing with Sennheiser E835, the V7 has more balance sound. I'd also owned V3, which is also a good mic for its price, V7 definitely has smoother sound, clear and airy, not over bright as V3...

I have other mics that are {in my opinion} good for live bands, sennheiser e935,ev967,ev767,heil pr22 that i like using, and shure sm58,beta58 that i dont like using. I am looking forward to using the sE Electronics v7 more to see how it does in my situation. I dont think anyone would go wrong trying one

For when there is a little noise, I wanted a condenser with a hyper cardioid pattern. but those really cost. This is well past your SM58 or E835 at the high end, and the low is good at 6inches. The bright/not-harsh high end is incredible, and it is detailed like the RodeNT1 I usually use. I'm loving this thing.

Better then a 58 for vocals. This mic ignores so much of the clicks and pops of the amps around it being blasted by guitars.

I have used the V7 a couple times since purchase. Great sounding mic more open and clear than a sm58. Low handling noise with great feedback rejection. Will see how it holds up. If the V7 can take a beating, like the industry standard sm58, it will be my new go to live vocal mic.

Really nice mic. Pokes through a live mix nicely, and sounds surprisingly valid (scratch vocals) recorded, lead vocals. Smelled a little right out of the box, but off-gassed for a few days and now no smell. Great bang for buck; looks cool, too.

Poorly dipped chrome as you can see all the lathe marks. This should have been dipped at least 3 times but that's what's expected from the Chinese.

I was surprised at how distinct & clear it was in my ear monitors, and it seemed to make all my background sounds clearer too.
