This mic is fabulous. It looks cool and performs well, especially for the price. It's sensitive enough to pick up a normal voice, from a few inches away (6-8) without a lot of ambient noise. It's perfect for podcasts or voiceovers. All I did was plug it into my computer and the drivers installed automatically. Unplug it to hear the playback. Great purchase, I look forward to lots of use!

We use this product for University lectures for online courses. Normally, for mics of this price point, you would receive a lot of background noice, plosives, etc. This had none of those, but had a richness and warmth that I haven' heard from this type of computer mic. Highly recommended.

I use this for recording sessions with astrology clients and making YouTube videos, and it works very well for my purposes. Pros - portable, audio jack in the back for monitoring, high quality for price... Cons - unidirectional condenser, mute button makes audible click in recording... as you can see, the pros are significant while the cons are not (unless you want an omnidirectional mic, which this is not). Im glad I purchased, and glad to support B&H directly.
Possible paperweight - next computer build will determine

Torn between 2 and 3 stars right now because this doesn't work. It initially shows up with a faint yellow LED when plugged in. Went thru the instructions on the Samson site about removing the hidden USB Composite device from the computer's Device Manager and trying again, and got it working...for a day. Then next reboot, same thing but no recovery. I do know my present computer has taken some USB controller damage and is pretty old (X99 motherboard based), so I'll withhold final judgement until I can complete my new build and try the microphone on that. I use the Meteor Mic for voice-overs for my YouTube videos. The mic sounds clean, strong, and has very nice tone. I like that it's small and can easily be tucked away. The mic is made surprisingly well and it's really simple to use. I am planning to buy a second one to use in interview videos. Plus, it just looks cool!

This is plug and play goodness. My son was podcasting within minutes. On a par with Blue Yeti but much smaller and portable. Mute button is easy to use and lite is note distracting. Very happy.

This is a mono mic, which not everyone understands. It improves the sound of my vocals, but it does clip if you're not careful, and there is no on-mic input adjustment. The design and build quality are superb.

Needing to upgrade my current USB mic this appeared to be a good choice. While the mic is attractive in retro appearance, I found the sound quality to be substandard. In Garage Band it sounded tinny and distant regardless of what I tried. Perhaps it didn't jive with my system (MacBook Pro) but I was underwhelmed and will return it. I'll just keep working with my old Blue Snow Ball mic.

I was afraid that the Meteor Mike would be made of plastic, but it is made of aluminum and in matte white. This looks much in person than in photos.

My son asked for a microphone so he can talk to his friends on Discord and for his classes on zoom. People had been complaining the mic on his new gaming headset didn't sound good and cut out quite often. His friends/classmates all say the sound is significantly better than before. Have not used it for voice over or singing applications but for these two purposes it works fine.
