I bought this to use in video production. The shock mount is poorly designed and useless, and picks up sound from the boom pole, camera, where ever it is mounted. I had to redesign it with foam sheet and gaffers tape to make it usable. I does have great sound. I called Rode about the problems....no response!

I bought it and the first time I tried to use it ,using alcaline batterys smoke came out from the mic. After years of purchases in BH is the first really bad experience thata I had.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars is just because I haven't had a chance to use it. I have tested it and it seems great. I love that it is really light. At this point, I'm not sure I will use the boompole and/or windshield but I'm glad it came with it so I don't have to buy those products separately.
