I wanted this thing the minute I saw it announced. But I hadn't even started podcasting at that point so decided I would start small with a Zoom H5. Now that recorder is great and I still use it for remote podcasting...but this Rodecaster Pro is INCREDIBLE! It does everything I could ever want and Rode has pushed out a couple of firmware updates that addressed and fixed things folks wanted. Bravo Rode.

Super excited to be using the Rodecaster Pro with church services and church podcast. Microphone's are great the Rodeccaster is amazing; however I am not a fan of the mic stands. The sheer weight of the mic pull the extension arm down, you would have to tighten it with a tool to get it to stay; the base is also to me unreliable. Unless you have the boom and mic positioned in perfect balance it likes to tip. Other than the stands super happy with my Rode purchase.

I've owned this for about 2 weeks now and it has met all expectations! Just beware, it is a bit larger than I was expecting, so it takes up a decent footprint on a desk. Also, the first 4 inputs are mic input only, you cannot do line level audio which was annoying, but not the end of the world. Also, just to know, the processor settings don't allow for any adjustment. It's just on or off.

So I am new to podcasting and let me say the intuitiveness of this hardware is amazing. I have used it for recording 4 person podcast and iI didnt jeed to do anything to the audio in post. Ive also used ti for recording vocal readings and the sound pads were really cool to add back ground effects. If you do voice recording and are on the fence about buying this, take the plunge. It is such a useful tool.

As using it for our podcast daily, the bluetooth function works at times, however even after another update I cannot carry a conversation via Skype or zoom because of how bad the quality sounds. My computer is 6 inches away yet does not work. Apple also checked if my bluetooth was an issue, it wasnt. It has worked for music on youtube, however thats 20% of the time. I had to change settings over and over to reset the bluetooth to sound clean with no breaks. Very very frustrating after 2 interview I stopped using it. I also tried using the Sling Studio with it, and thats a whole other monster. If you are just starting, it works well. However, I am thinking I may just have a lemon. On a good note, my voice sounds clean with the Shure Sm7b and the Rodecaster. ... More

I didn't actually get this for Podcasting... I got it for doing screen recordings for YouTube to get better audio by plugging this directly into my computer. The usability is incredible! The menu is easy to use, the customizations are easy, and it is incredibly functional and fun! Customizing the sounds pads was easy as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing an XLR audio interface whether or not it's for podcasting.

Working on launching a podcast for NYIT and needed a mixer/recorder that was relatively simply to figure out since the host would also be handling podcast sessions. This blows everything else out of the water. The touching screen GUI is easy to navigate and many of the features are intuitive. You press faders to access menu settings for a particular microphone for example. Highly recommend for anyone looking at getting their DIY podcast off the ground.

Received my RODEcaster Pro and right out of the box with a quick firmware update, was up and running within minutes. The 2 RODEmics were out of stock so I substituted 2 MXBCD1Mics. WOW. Incredible Sound, Incredible Design, Incredible Layout and Pre-amps, and Incredible 4 headphone outputs. Incredible Everything!

Makes podcast super easy. Love the big buttons for sound cues/effects. Good feel to it. The only downside is the way it organizes files (after recording). It's a bit annoying to have to use the companion app to split out the files you don't want to use (for example if there is no mic 3 and mic 4, you have to use the companion app if you don't want to export them all onto your computer/hard drive). But the companion app is easy enough. Just an extra step. Otherwise, love it.

If you're starting a podcast...... You need to get this product. This has been the best purchase we made! RODECaster Pro is amazing and the PodMics have a phenomenal sound. Everything is quality. Yes it will cost you a little but if you are wanting to get quality equipment that will give you so many options for using it, then stop reading this and get this product. Can't say enough about how good this is, we are extremely happy with this bundle. You won't regret it.

The Rodecaster Pro does many things quite well. One thing that may not be forgivable is how the standalone headphone level knob doesn't work for the 3.5mm headphone, instead, you have to use the volume rocker for the 'talent-side volume control 1' (top right corner of the record button). Essentially, you'll have to get a RCA to 3.5mm connector. Sheesh! If 'Rode-Jesus can fix this with an update, I'm gonna update with the remaining star.

We use this to record my podcast Coward Hour. It makes it very easy to do remote recordings. Our zoom guests hear us clearly, and even hear our sound effects and theme music. Our voices come in noise free and pleasant sounding. Overall this is a game changer to our workflow and production value from the cheap Behringer mixer we were using. Five stars, listen to Coward Hour.

We'd been using a Zoom F8 to record which was over kill for inputs but not great for headphone output and podcast features. This Rodecaster Pro checks all the boxes and the newest firmware with multi track recording to the micro SD card, is great. The built-in effects for the Podmic were awesome and didn't leave much EQ to do in post.

I was not sure about this at first. I have a podcast and I use a different brand of mixer. Now that I have been using this for a while I absolutely love it. I have consolidated a recorder, a mixer, and an iPad into one unit. Also I don't need to transfer a memory card back and forth. It will download directly to my computer. I love this and wish I had it years ago. Not just that Rode keeps adding features that I absolutely love.

I just produced the first podcast for our company, and this made it so easy. Sound FX and music are easily programmable into one of the 8 buttons; plus I can play FX, music, and other audio from my MacBook thats connected to the RODEcaster. I purchased an additional two Procaster mics and broadcast arms because well almost always have more than just two people on mic.

Easy to use, pretty to look at, and packed full of useful features. Smooth controls and a clear, responsive touch screen that is easy to navigate. Great for recording in a studio, at a table, or for live gigs. Its versatile, for sure. Its a little on the large side, so having table space is important.

I bought the RodeCaster Pro because it is clearly the best way to do a phone interview. You just plug your phone in the TRS input and it separates the tracks. The bluetooth channel is silly and worthless as the best audio comes from pluging it in, but a silly extra feature is no reason to rate it down. With the multitrack update I am am very pleased, but I would like to access more control to things like the EQ and Gate settings (but maybe Rode will add that to future updates).

This device is simple to use but also meets the demands of professional broadcasters with demanding audio requirements. It works out of the box with just a couple minutes of setup. All cable connections are clearly marked and are intuitive. One of the best features is the continued updates that the manufacturer has provided. It makes the Rodecaster Pro even more valuable! If you are just starting out podcasting or want a single unit to replace your current setup, this is it! You won't be disappointed with the build quality and the sound is amazing!
