I really like what Rode did on this mic. Very good quality, it isolates the sound of the speaker more that expected, what reduces the amount of work in post, in case you need to clean up noise. Really good mic.

You get a great starting kit for a steal! The NTG 5 was smaller than I thought, but is a powerful mic! The zoom h6 is a great recorder for intro sounds peeps. Easy setup, install, and functions. Can't wait to use it

I did a lot of research before purchasing this mic and I am glad to say that I believe it was the right choice. The sound it captures sounds very authentic and full and the ability of it to block out sound from other directions is fantastic. I wish I had bought this sooner!

I've been considering buying NTG 3 mic for quite sometime but I'm so glad that I've hold my decision until Rode announced the NTG 5 which comes with complete location recording kit. So, I immediately placed my preorder and I'm very very impressed with the sound quality and the very low self-noise based on online reviews this shotgun mic outrun the NTG 3 which is one of the best mic in the market. Highly recommended for filmmaker.

This mic sounds good in the environments for which I purchased it: vocals for both interior church and outdoor documentary-style work. It provides a high input signal, which allows me to keep the input on my C300 mark ii about the 3-4 level, whereas my other microphones sit about 5-6.

This beautiful mic is not working. Bought this in April and tried several cables but it will not work. I can't return it because I live in West Africa. Big shame.

Great sound. I had to play around with the directional a little. This is typical in a new space. Sounds 'dry' and clean. Ambient noise removal is good.

The audio quality that this mic produces is amazing. Clear, crisp, and sensitive. For $500 you can't beat it.

The boompole in the bundle is only 7'6". Just buy the mic and get something in the 9-12' range so that you don't have to repurchase equipment. I don't own this but I will so disregard the rating.

This is the first shotgun mic i've owned. I'm primary using it for field audio and dialogue and It's proving to be flexible and useful.

Love this mic. The quality, even in a not so perfectly controlled environment (forced air heating vents overhead) is excellent. I've used it so far for live online events.

I love all of the accessories that come with this. The mic is very light, and produces the cleanest sound. Very sensitive. Works very well when paired with the Rode Blimp.

Lightweight, simple, sounds great. Tonality holds up through most of its supercardioid pattern.
