This is a great little mic for the price. Perfect for small studio projects. Frequency response is good, but not as crisp in the high end as I am accustomed to with higher end mics. Low noise. SPL is good. I had to really push it to distort. The pop filter is not really any better than old school nylon hose, and maybe slightly better than standard pop filters. Only draw back is it's proprietary design. Not as universal as other filters. Only work in standard position on mic clip. No option for creative use or distance. All in all, well worth the low cost. ... More

As a result of the Covid-19 situation, we have been recording our church services for transmission on You Tube. For several weeks, we produced strictly recorded services until we could have regular services again. We are continuing to provide the video recorded services for those who are unable to attend in person. In addition to the churches sound system, I have been using my own equipment for back-up and fill-in. Until a few weeks ago I was using my Shure SM-57 mics along with my Sound Devices "MixPre-3" mixer-recorder. While the SM-57's were doing a decent job, I wanted to up the sound quality a bit - especially the piano. The Rode NT-1's are doing a very nice job in this respect. I couldn't be happier. So far, there have been no negative issues attributable to the mics and the sound is very impressive. ... More

After a month of research, I chose the Rode NT1 mic for my voiceover work. The NT-1 is well-built, complements the warmth of my natural speaking voice, and captures the nuances of my character voices. I went for the Complete Studio Kit because I had read the AI-1 audio interface is also pretty solid, with powerful preamps and a really low noise floor. That it's already bundled with a sturdy Rycote shockmount with pop filter, and a premium XLR cable made this bundle purchase a no-brainer. It's exactly as I expected and more. Sleek, beautiful, and so easy to use (no drivers needed) that I can even hook the AI-1 directly to my android phone, tweak my phone settings, and record into my phone using my NT-1. Talk about ease-of-use and portability! Don't believe me? Check out this vid: bit.ly/RODENT1-AI1. ... More

This is my first serious condenser microphone and grant it there a tons of other either models or brands this one was a fit in my budget after vigorous research. From the moment I hooked it up it was above my expectations. I was very pleased. Initially I got this for vocals, but it has a multitude of used for a second mic on a guitar amp, out side mic on the kick drum as well as a room mic. But especially for vocals I was sold.

I do various recordings as far as voice, musical instrument instruction videos, music tracks for various clients. For a while, I've used the Blue Yeti and always knew I needed a better mic but didn't know what to get. Plugins in post can take you very far but, overall I knew I needed better hardware. This mic was rated very high for it's quality to cost ratio. I'm a saxophonist and I needed a large diaphragm condenser for what I wanted to do and this was at the top of the pile of my choices. It was a major quality increase. I paired it with a Focusrite 2i2. Very round and thick sounding. I've watched videos and comparisons It's response curve is relatively flat compared to the NT1-A. Also it's extremely quiet. I won't need another mic for quite awhile. ... More

Rode got this product perfect, down to the box it came in. Pop filter supplied with the microphone, that mounts to the supplied shock mount, is placed in the just right position, and distance. No need to second guess how far the pop filter needs to be from the mic. Loved the quality of it, and the microphone as well. The feel, and sound it produces far overcomes the price tag. Loved how it comes with a velour baggy for storage. Great for keeping dust out. In all, I'd highly recommend this microphone. Coming from an AKG P220 microphone, this mic was night, and day. ... More

I like the Rode selection of microphones. I started with the Rode NT1A. While this is a great mic for the money it just didn't fit my voice, so I went to the Rode NT1 which complimented my voice. The construction of this microphone is outstanding and well built, so you will not go wrong with the Rode NT1. Rode also provides a 10 year warranty if you register the mic. Can't beat that. Hope this helps.

This is a fantastic kit with some pretty top notch stuff; certainly the microphone and audio interface. In fact, Im happy B&H offers this unique kit because I wanted the Focusrite Scarlett Solo over the R0DE AI-1 in their kit. The accessories are more like essentials and round everything out to let you hit the ground running. Setup was as easy and worked as soon as it was plugged into the Mac, under Logic Pro X. Ordered it online from uptown, and it was ready for pickup by the time I got downtown.

I've been recording in the music industry for decades. This microphone has the quality of something twice its price. I bought these for podcasting purposes and wanted a quality microphone but for a reasonable budget. It was between the RODE and Sure SM7B which most podcasters use. The Sure was close to double to price and the sound is similar. Also, since the RODE is a condenser, you can boost the output using phantom power. You can't with the Sure, you need a separate booster. Also, it's sounds amazing for recording amps, vocals (really good!), and acoustic guitar. If you do not have the budget for a $1,000.00 microphone, this is a versatile workhorse. ... More

Got the rode nt1 recording kit. Mic: Great true to nature recording Doesn't have too much high end like rode nt1-a Can take some editing to get good sound, but that's a plus for many since it has good true to nature, it fits more people's vocal styles with good post processing Kit: Great. Was easy to bundle and is as good of value as anything else you can get. If you move your mic placement A LOT maybe consider a higher end reflection kit, while the quality is superb to reach the ~$100 price point means no contraptions for easier maneuvering. For me I find the perfect mic reflection spot and let it sit so it's perfect ... More

And oh my gosh with want came in the kit was worth it I never heard the background at all even with the door wide open just note the analog box needs to be turned down a lot but I can hear myself loud and clear and dont need to stand so close neither but be warned the microphone is so powerful of picking up stuff actually recorded me moving around but for those who want to record voice acting or Livestreaming get this one its a done deal good luck ... Kit is great, great price nice product and well made. Love the NT1 mic and kit. The Rode AI-1 is a great computer interface with one input. I was hoping to be able to use it as an audio input to my ATEM Mini Pro video switcher using the 1/4 Left and Right out to the 1/8 stereo input of the video switcher. However the AI-1 only functions as a computer audio interface and does not provide output to the 1/4 Left and Right without the computer. I had to use the 1/4 stereo headphone jack and turn on the solo function. This limits the AI-1 use from my opinion. Had I know this, I would have purchased the NT1 mic and a different audio interface that would work better for my requirements. ... More

I am switching to the Rode NT1 from a Blue Yeti Studio mic that I have had for years. I thought it was a decent mic until I got this one. It makes my voice sound super good. I can tell a difference when my vocals are mixed. In terms of the bundle I have everything I need to upgrade my studio. This comes with the reflection filter, XLR cables, the adapter that is needed to connect your microphone to the computer, and a pop filter with a shock mount. If you paid for each of these things individually the cost would have been much higher. I am extremely pleased with this purchase. ... More

You really can't beat this microphone for the price. It offers so much. The NT-1 is a quiet mic. I really had to get one to believe it. I was amazed. If you run it through a good preamp, this mic will stand up to others 4 times its price. This mic is great for vocals, acoustic guitars, room mics, or even overheads. Go ahead and just pick up a pair of these. You can't go wrong with a couple of these in your mic locker.

This is one heck of a mic. Its really quiet, as its promised. The new look of black matte gives a great feel when you hold it. The shock mount looks classy and does the job as well. My voice sounded so much warmer with the use of this mic. I'm glad I didn't spend too much for my mic, as I'm getting a great quality sound output with this one. Get a good preamp, compressor and equalizer, along with this mic and you're home studio is set!

I use these microphones in an unfinished basement doing intensive home recording: vocals, acoustic guitar, homemade drums, and other things. It really IS a microphone without background noise. It feels fantastic to forget about the noise gates and automating volume levels to accomodate ambient fuzz. I haven't discovered anything that isn't great yet. The included shock mounts and pop filters are excellent as well. Solid quality.

I would be difficult to justify giving the Rode NT1A anything less than a 5 because it does exactly what it sets out to do for a reasonable price. The 10-year warranty is icing on the cake. I have $500 microphones that have more advanced features, but one has to pay for those features. This matched set of microphones is actually better than the photograph suggests. It comes with two Rode shock mounts that each have an integrated pop filter.

The only heads up I will give is if you want the Free Lite version of Ableton do not register your AI-1 before you get it as it gives it to you during registration. I registered and now cannot download it. waiting for reply from Rode. But very happy with my purchase
