This is my 4th mic I've used while doing my podcast. The Rode NT-USB is by far the best I've ever used. The Blue Yeti was too sensitive, the Blue Spark garbled my voice, and the Samson Meteor Mic required too much software to function properly. The Rode was good right out of the box and did not require tinkering to make it "better". The included pop filter is worth it's weight in gold. The other thing that makes this great is it uses a standard USB/USB2 cord, so they are easily picked up if you need an extra. Listen to people on YouTube and SoundCloud compare audio clips using Rode and the other three mice I mentioned and see if you do not agree. Suoer impressed! ... More

It mic was perfect for the music project that I have been working on. I needed a mic that simple to set up, easy to adjust, and very user friendly (I am not a great singer, so I just needed something that can make me sound half decent at a good price). The price is very affordable for the quality that you will receive. The fact that it comes with a pop filter was awesome too (really makes a difference). And having it as simple as a plug into a USB port was extremely convenient. My Mac recognized it as what it is immediately (just have to adjust the mic input and output if needed; very simple). It sounds great, and if you want to sound better, just use your music software to adjust if needed. Great product. Amazing price. ... More

I bought this due to the fact I grew tired of wires from usb interfaces, dealing with breakoutcables (delta 1010lt) and other "clunky" means of recording my voice. I paired it with the PSA-1 and it was a wrap. Monitoring through the onboard 3.5 inch jack is a pleasure with the Shure SE215's is fantastic. No power button so you will either keep it on or unplug it. I just mute it and keep it on. Plenty of usb cable that comes with the unit. No complaints. I would buy this again and again. Thanks Guitar Center for carrying this amazing product! ... More

It is a very nice microphone. It would have been much better if there was a power switch. I don't like plug and unplug it every time.

I didnt even use this 9 months and the ring mount snapped. Google "NT-USB broken ring mount" and you'll see, its going to happen to you too. It is designed to fail. They do not offer any sort of improved design if you get a warranty replacement, just another cheap piece of plastic, doomed to fail. Someone at another company has solved this issue with a redesign, but Rode doesn't care, and will continue to produce this piece of SH|T. I went and got an SMR mount, thinking it'd be better - nope, snapped into pieces when tightening it the first time. Look for a different mic company. ... More

Great mic for the price-point. I use this mainly for quickly demoing out ideas without having to setup my audio interface, preamps, etc. It's very handy. This would be great for traveling and needing to record a podcast or quick vocal takes. The USB cable that comes with it is ridiculously long, but I guess better that it's too long, than too short, right? Also major plus that it comes with a pop filter and little stand.

This mic isn't overly warm and doesn't have the proximity effect that some podcasters love. But I think it sounds clear and natural, bright but not overly bright. The pickup pattern is pretty wide so you will have background noise, but in a quiet environment, this mic will sound great on the edge of a desk or even with two people. For the money and ease of a USB mic it works great. I personally don't use the headphone jack.

The mic is easy to use. But I ended up giving it away just a few months later and bought the Shure MV7 mic. I felt like this mic grabbed a lof of ambiance noise, even with sound proof. It is easy to plug in with a USB and easy to use, but the sounds quality was not what I needed for my professional VO work.

I use this for VO auditions on the go. Easy to pack and it's plug and play with your laptop, iPad or iPhone. (adapter needed for ipad/iphone) It's good for a USB mic but doesn't compare too well with XLR mics I own like Sennheiser 600MKE. The stand is kind of blah. But better than no stand.

I had to decide if I needed a USB mic since I have an audio interface with my home studio...but there are times you don't want to boot everything up. Also, I can use this with a laptop set up and have studio sound. Is this a $5,000 mic? No, but to my ears, it sounds as good as Shure SM series mics. A pro workhorse mic.

This Røde NT-USB sounds great, is easy to use and works on all my computer recording Mac OS, new or old. No latency monitoring is a dream come true. Built in wind screen is an appreciated touch too, as is the nice long USB cable and desktop stand. I prefer this Røde's mic to my other "go to" condenser mic. Nice job Røde!

Pros: Really nice hardware features and filter, ready to go right out of the box. Very good sound for it’s price. Excellent build. Cons: The included stand should be collapsible, esp if it’s so small. At this price point for a USB mic it should have a gain knob.

Yet another great product from Rode! Very nice pick up and love the stand and built in pop filter. The sound is great like an NT-1. The monitoring mix function is really cool. Looong 20ft cable which is perfect for mobile recording!

This mic is good for desktop applications with one or maybe two people. It sounds clear and clean. It is not overly warm or radio sounding with the proximity effect but rather very natural and flat.
