Using a flat eq setting this mic was the winner of many that I tried at the Guitar Center. In the past, I tried several mics but kept going back to my SM58. I used the SM58 as my baseline for testing in the Guitar Center. I am still in the honeymoon phase; however, this mic is much warmer and fuller (and a bit more airy) than my SM58. It was simply the best that I tried in the store. I play guitar and sing - I like the SM58 because it is a bit forgiving on mic technique as I tend to move around a bit when I play. This mic is similar in that regard but just more hi/fi, warmer, and airy - just a more pleasing sound. No harshness. So far I am loving it. ... More

When I write "industry standard" dynamic vocal mic, you know what I'm writing about. This is very much in the mold of that venerable mic. It's warm and round and very easy to work with and appears to be tough and looks good and comes with a great warranty. It's also clearer and more dynamic than the industry standard.

From the moment I plugged this mic in, I could tell it was a winner. I needed to replace a Shure SM58 which had just lost its edge - I was going to get another SM58 when my eye caught this one. I use a Rode K2 for recording and love its warmth and depth... so took a chance on the M1. Bright and lively - this was a great buy!

I've had several of these as a result of winning a 6-pack of them in a drawing. Lately I've compared them with the standard industry leaders, and they are very comparable. I've enjoyed using them in numerous configurations. I think the wind screen is metric, so you can't just replace it with a cheapie. The element is rock solid. These don't have switches, but the idea is like, who needs one? I gave away two of mine, so this one replaced one of those. I'm a fan of the Rode M1.

Using it for sound booth techs for online show. Solid mid-range...very usable short pickup field. Great clarity.
