The ioStation does what it's supposed to do, and quite well. It's a capable control surface and a solid interface. I haven't tested the preamps yet, but you can search the reviews for many other PreSonus devices that use them. The headphone output sounds very good to me and has no problem driving my Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. I haven't delved into the many control functions yet, but based on the videos and documentation, I feel like I should! Lots of shortcuts, and programmable buttons, which seem like they'll help my post workflow. I use the ioStation with Pro Tools, which required a tiny bit of setup and is well explained in the manual. On the downside, there is a known issue of digital distortion appearing after some time using the ioStation as an interface with Pro Tools; after about 20-30 minutes of use, the audio output of the interface will become distorted and unusable until I restart PT. I expect this could be fixed by a firmware update, but as of this review, it's ongoing. A small headache, but worthwhile for a piece of gear that helps me travel lighter and work on the road. For users of the PreSonus FaderPort v1, you might find that the ioStation's fader is slightly less sensitive, such that I can't do the same kinds of light, ultra-quick moves that I'm used to doing. With a little practice, I got used to it and it's not a big deal. ... More

Pros : • you can control Two tracks at the same time even though there is only one motorized fader. • also compatible with other DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic, etc) Con: It seems delicate compared to the other audio interfaces Presonus offers like the AudioBox 96 and The studio C series. Not a dealbreaker but it's worth noting.

The unit had a very bad play button it felt very mushy, The top right most knob was broken off and had no glue so it spun freely, the software didnt always recognize it and i had to always re plug it in and i had to switch usb ports for some odd reason which was giving me a very loud static noise which no other usb interface has ever done. Overall the product seems a bit outdated. The fader was loud and clicky and it just could not keep up with the rapid automation i had set in software where as a digital touch strip has alot more functionality over a mechanical fader. Not to mention the faderport is around 220 ish so that means the sound card built in is worth only around 50 ish bucks and the rest to the design additions. I dont think i could recommend this unit unless you just wanted some basic functionality and an all in one situation. ... More

If you are a tactile engineer who prefers to adjust levels via fader but don’t have the space or budget for a large mixer, this is your product. Adjustments to automation and levels are amazingly smooth and ease of use is stellar. I gave it 4 stars bc of the programming learning curve but a quick google search led me to what I needed.

This thing is amazing! One flaw to me is that I have to put a check by the avoid clicks and pops in pro tools and to run low latency when recording and in playback. Other than it is amazing. I woudn’t trade it.

I like the ioStation24c so far because it more than meets my needs in my home office. I do with I could map the fader to system controls for when I am not recording but over all, I really like the interface. Well built and high quality.
