I'm not much of a mic expert, but I bought this little beauty for home voice recording and it's got to be one of the best deals out there. It's compact, has great noise-reduction capability (I live on 9th ave in Hells Kitchen and it doesn't even pick up a hint of outside traffic noise!) and is just overall a very nice-quality product. I give it 3 stars because the recording quality seems like it could be better, but since I'm using it in a very basic setup I'm sure I'm not using it to it's full potential, but again for the price I'm not sure you can beat it. ... The Olympus digital voice recorder (WS-400S) is a great stereo reorder. With the ME-52W Noise Cancellation Microphone the recorder is a fabulous dictating machine as well as a conference recording device. The microphone is small, sensitive, excellent and effective. It comes with several attachments that make it ideal for many, many uses.

Bought this for Dragon speech recognition, so that I could speak directly to the laptop, without something bothersome attached to my head. And the mic seems to work quite well, as long as there's no other major noise in the background. Was worried that laptop has only a single, combined headphone/mic jack, but that is no problem.

I work for a radio station and was purchasing this mic for remote recordings. After I got it to work, we could hardly tell the difference in our pro mic and this little lapel mic. Very Pleased. However, in the first use, we did have a lot of scratching noises. The head of the mic has a pivot in it. I angled the mic a little and that kept it from rubbing against the clothing. problem gone.

This is a great little add-on at a great price. Voice quality is identical to the (very good) on-board mike on the DS4000, but does a good job of cutting out extraneous noise. Even comes with a little foam windscreen and a good, sturdy lapel clip.

I needed a microphone to add audio to some training slides. It was a one-shot deal, so I didn't want to spend a fortune on audio equipment. The ME-52W was the right piece of equipment for the right price. It was simple to install and use. The audio was free of electronic static and background noise, just right for training slides.

This really is a very useful mic for use out in the field or even for voice recording at home. Sound quality is great for a mic its size. It does have a unidirectional pickup pattern, but doesn't do as good a job at cancelling out ambient noise as an acutal shotgun mic. But it does have a price you can't beat.

I purchased this microphone to replace one in a personal amplifier for a hard-of-hearing relative. I like that is cancels out the extraneous sounds and really only picks up sounds in front of the mic. Nice product.

I have an Olympus digital recorder that gives an annoying background sound. This microphone muffles it out and offers clear sound. It's not perfect, but it really works. I tried it as far as 20 feet away. This works for me.

Works great in most any environment. It is easy to record, as can be set to take out normal pauses in speech or other recording, thru voice/sound level recognition technology. User Friendly in its many functions.

I use this mic to record my voice when singing. Attached to an Olympus recorder, I find an improved quality of sound. The mic is flexible and quality of build appears to be excellent. The only problem I have is the windscreen comes off easily. No downgrade for this problem, it is just an irritant.
