Vintage stuff needs regular maintenance

Sounds perfect. Standard studio staple that sounds great on everything. Having a good technician work on vintage gear is important. It requires regular maintenance. In this case, a well known and respected technician did the work and the documents were provided. I paid slightly above market due to the circumstances. Well worth it.

I record a lot - I mean a lot. I went through the various options, the Sennheiser MHK416 (which I still have - a great mic), the TLM-103, The Stellar X - I should have bought the U87 first. Clean, clear, picks up the dust falling on the floor if that's what you want. It's expensive. You get what you pay for. Absolutely wonderful professional microphone.

This mic is awesome. I additionally have a Sennheiser MKH416 which has better noise rejection. This Neumann condenser has a preferred frequency response. As a result, this mic is very well suited to live processing with an Apollo x8p or Twin X. I also have a few other mics, but this one is amazing!

I’ve had more mics than I dare admit but, on plugging in a Neumann, for the first time, after some years, thought instantly, this is what I’m after. Very hard to put my finger on it and, for years dismissed them as overpriced and overhyped but, finally being able to to hear the musical, confident way it captures sound, feel a great sense of relief I invested in them.

Buen microfono si lo combinas con el equipo adecuado a su nivel, para mi gusto es muy medioso y yo no busco ese toque pero quiza alguien mas si, da presencia a la voz facilmente y es muy fiel y muy detallado en captar sonido, tienes que tener un espacio con acustica adecuada y guardar tu distancia entre tu boca y el microfono porque capta todo.

I paired this with an Avalon 737 and It is everything they say it is, and more. Now I know why this mic is the most sought-after Mic in the industry. The sound is clear, warm, and cuts through mixes unlike any mic I've ever used, and I've used a LOT. Pro sound. Heavenly ear candy.

I was looking forward to loving my new Neumann U87 Ai microphone for my voiceover work, but quickly realized that it was not the best microphone for me. The sound was a little nasally and not as rich and full as the Lauten Audio FC 387, which is less than half the cost.

The U87 is now the centerpiece in my studio! Combined with the Grace Pre, this mic really adds a new dimension to vocals. Acoustics guitars have a fuller sound. The detail surpasses my 414. Definately a great deal from B&H!

These mics are a studio staple for a reason. I have a pair and they get used on everything - vocals, acoustic guitar, electric and bass cabs, mandolin, hand percussion, rooms, etc. If I had to record an entire album with one mic, it would be a U87 by a mile.
