First impression...I have been using my Nady DMK-7 mic set for about 2 weeks now. My first impression was the quality of the build/hardware. These mics have some weight and feel solid when you pick them up. Value...The set includes all the clips and a padded carrying case. At this price, that alone makes the Nady DMK-7 worth looking at for your first set of entry level drums mics. 7 mics for $ with a case AND clips??? (as of Oct 2012) You can't beat that pricing.Sound Quality...The tom mics stand out in this set. They sound pretty darn good! The kick mic needs some aggressive EQ to bring out the drum to its full potential but that is true of most mics. The condensers are crisp with a high SPL rating, nice for overhead or close miking cymbals. My only compliant is that they condensers are not a matched pair. This is will introduce minor level & phase differences if you are doing a close X-Y overhead pattern during recording, but at this price point I don't see that being a big problem for first time users.Final Thoughts...A good set of mics for the price, overheads need to be setup with care to get the most of of them. I would recomend them to any drummer or tech needing a low cost & flexible drum mic setup. A mixer with sweepable mids is required for overcoming frequency response deficiencies in the kick mic. ... I bought this set, as well as an additional DM70, as I have 6 piece drum set. Sound was decent, but was lacking depth and feel from the kick. I then bought the DM90, and moved the DM80 to my floor tom, and WOW, what a difference. We've done some EQing, and I get asked at every gig how I get my kick to have such click and boom. Yeah, they're made in China. No, they're not Shure, but I feel I've gotten more than my money's worth out of this set of mics. I now have 5 DM70's that I'm using on 2 snares and 3 rack toms. I have NO issues with feedback or clipping. Speaking of clips, I hate these clips. I bought Sampson mic drum clips instead. Easy to replace. Very happy with my purchase. Nady makes a good product. ... More

Not the best sounding mics, but for the price they are awesome. They don't sound bad, just not quite as clean as pro mics.
