Nice and clear, sounded great on acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, and mandolin. Sweet spot for guitar and mandolin was about 8 to 12 inches away, really added warmth to their tone. Can't wait to try mixing it with a small diaphragm condenser.

I needed to quickly secure a mic that could handle the frequencies of a Bb Trumpet and record a true sound. With a little adjustment of my mic stand I was able to record into Audacity, flawlessly. Very happy with this purchase

Love this mic! I hadn't used a ribbon mic before but had always heard that they live in a unique sonic space in the microphone world. They have a warm/ less bright overall response which worked perfectly for me as a drum room mic but also would work great with brass instruments.

don't get the warranty as it does not cover the ribbon element, I told the person who put the order in for me I wanted the warranty for that purpose and they sold it to me knowing this anyway acting as if it did cover it, so mabey don't trust information from sales

This is just the budget mic I was looking for to pair with a sm57 when mic'ing my guitar amp. The bass response really fattens up the recorded tone when paired with the mid forward sm57. Add an AT2020 for as a room mic for top end and ambience and you can record some pretty solid guitar tracks.

I have recorded jazz bass drum, trumpets and electric guitar so far with quite good results. No, it's not a Beyer or Royer but can't be beat for the bucks. The sound is quite natural to my ears and closely approximates the way we actually hear. It's my first experience with MXL.

I bought this mic for my studio and honestly I feel that it would work more better for recording instruments. I record my vocals but I feel that the mic hold back the clarity of your vocals. if you record your instruments it would sound amazing... if you asked me I wouldn't recommend this to others if they want to record vocals. Or you never know I can be using it wrong lol.

I am currently in the process of converting analog tapes to digital that I recorded in the 1970s-1990s and wanted a suitable mic for a brief description of each session. This mic is perfect for this purpose as it compliments the analog sound of the recordings very well.

I picked up two of these to use as overheads for drums. I love the warm thick tone I'm able to get out of them. The price is unbeatable too considering how sturdy the build is. Highly recommend!

Made sturdy and shock mount is ver sturdy and enforces confidence in its safety. The range of sound it will receive is impressive so I advise for use in Isolation booth.

This is my first ribbon mic. I am really enjoying the sound on distorted electric guitar. When mixed with a Dynamic mic, it really covers a lot of sound.

I have only had it for a week so I don't know about durability, but it is really smooth, warm, and Simon and Garfunkel sounding!!

Well made, solid mic. Used with a UA Solo 610 pre-amp resulted in a very warm & "live" sounding vocal track. This is a keeper!
