I originally bought mine (on another site) to extend the preamps on my MOTU 828mk3. I used one ADAT port to pass the 8 channels to the 828, and the other for clock sync. The preamps are clean and worked for everything I was doing in my home studio. I really liked that I had individual phantom power and individual pads for each preamp. The only thing I miss is a proper BNC connector for the clock so I could use both ADAT optical connectors for higher audio rates. That said, it never seemed to be an issue in actual use. Even though I used it solely as a preamp, I really like the CueMix software that comes from MOTU. I only decided to sell mine when I moved into an apartment and no longer needed the additional preamps. ... More

This is a really well-designed DAC, somewhat easier to use than some of the other MOTU products. Connections straightforward, controls clear and simple. Enjoying using it to make music! No lag time at tall. MOTU makes great products. Expect to be using this for some time to come.
