I updated my MacOS to Sierra on day one and that took out my fancy Thunderbolt UAD Apollo Twin which costed me $900 - there is no updated driver for it yet. Guess what? With a Mac the M-Track doesn't need a driver and it does indeed work with Sierra. This is true plug and play, although naturally you have to select it in the sound preferences for regular audio and in Logic or your DAW of choice which is a simple preference choice for audio in and out. There's one port each for mic and instrument and dedicated gain knobs for each. And another 1/4" port and knob for headphones. There are two balanced 1/4" outs for your powered monitor speakers and a lovely big knob to control their volume. All the knobs have a perfect amount of resistance and the entire unit looks and sounds absolutely premium. After hearing my audio through the M-Track, I don't see ever going back to the much more expensive Apollo Twin. The M-Track is as good or better - stellar sound. Trust me, this M-Track is the way to go regardless of price. Take my Apollo Twin, PLEASE! ... More

I used my M-Audio Fast Track Pro for over 9 years, I'd say it held up pretty good after multiple moves and many, many hours of use. Sadly, it died. I picked up the M-Audio M-Track 2x2 as a replacement. Very happy thus far. It's a little more basic than my Fast Track Pro, but in a good way. It's simple for new users, but just as powerful for experienced users. This model does not have a midi ports, the next model up does. No worries really, I have a midi-sport to connect my midi controller. So this really has all the features you need for a Home Studio. Obviously if you want to record more than two tracks at a time, you'll need a different option for a ADA. One thing that I love, is this thing is sexy and looks much better than ADA in the past. My Fast Track Pro was very plastic-ee although it really held up well. The new M-Track 2x2 is much better looking and more simple to use and operate, defiantly a plus. New or Experienced users will like this, by the way I do not work for GC or any other retailer, just a lonely guy on a trek to make kick butt music. You won't regret this purchase. Oh, I am using a Mac, so I can't say anything for the PC drivers and it's functionality. Cheers! and Rock on Good People of Earth! ... More

So far I really like this interface and I've only had it a couple weeks now. I'm using it at my home setup for music productions purposes and audio mixing but I have the ability to hook up an instrument or microphone if I ever need to record. It comes with some great freebies like Xpand!2, Strike, Mini Grand, Creative FX Collection and cubase le which was easy to download and install. It was also one of the reasons why I chose to purchase it over other interfaces in this price range. The other reason was the sleek and modern design, I really like the black color and big knob in the center. Very nice looking interface and extremely portable! It works as expected on both my macbook pro running Mavericks 10.9.5 and windows 7 asus laptop. I'm disappointed with GC about the in-store pick up option. On their site it said the item was in-stock at my local store so I thought I'd be able to pick it up the same day however this wasnt the case. When I went to the store hours after placing my order, the only thing they had in stock was an already opened item. I won't purchase items that have already been opened because you run the risk that the software has already been registered by the previous buyer. Therefore I had to wait for my item to be shipped from another location which took several days. Always call the store first to see if the item you want is really in stock. ... More

I got this for my solo project to be able to monitor and record simultaneously...i was using the micro cube with cube link but that limits you to only use a phone to record(which sucks really) so this was a HUGE step up to be able to plug right into my computer and play and record multiple tracks while still monitoring my drum track/rhythm guitar...I have found that if you monitor through your computer and not the interface there is ZERO latency and is absolutely perfect for jamming/practicing/recording music...it sounds great once you get your settings where you want them..love this thing, it just unlocked a whole new world of possibilities for me ... I had gotten this interface as an upgrade from a very basic one. I had used it for a couple of days with Reaper and Windows 10, and it sounded great and would work perfectly for tracking. However after using it for a little while, my computer began crashing. I couldn't figure out what was causing this, and started to try and solve the problem. I tried all the "fixes" suggested online, and ended up coming across a forum of people having the same problem with the M-Audio Interface. I wasn't 100% sure it was the interface, but I ended up returning it and switching to an equivalent interface and haven't had any issues since then. Which leads me to believe the interface was the culprit. That being said, the interface worked fine when it wasn't crashing my computer, but I had a bad experience with it causing my computer to restart unexpectedly. ... More

I bought this last night to record vocals in ProTools. Never got that far. The first issue was the usb-c jack does not hold the cord firmly in place. When it is not in place, the unit has no power. Simply bumping the unit often cut the power connection. The driver install was relatively easy. But neither my DAW or my computer will recognize the device. They claim this issue was fixed for my OS in version 1.0.6 of the driver. The current driver is 1.0.12. I was able to get some sound through the headphone jack on the unit even though I could not get my PC to recognize the device. I had to jack the gain practically to the maximum to get enough volume to hear myself. I was not overly impressed with the volume or sound quality. After spending the afternoon fighting with this, I will be returning this item tomorrow. ... More

When my mixer power adapter died I decide to buy an audio interface. What a difference it makes!!!. I play guitar for 35 years, and recording for 12. I haven't have previous experience with audio interfaces, so I can't tell if other brands are better or worse, what I can tell is that this one sound really really good. When recording bass or guitar thru dedicated front jack input the sound is crystal clear and wormy. I still use for non recording stuff an old M-audio Audiophile 2496 that in my opinion sounds great, but in connection with a mixer the clarity is unacceptable now. ... More

The little knob on the right allows a blend of virtual zero latency from the M-unit, with whatever latency the DAW computer record is returning. This seems arcane, but it is actually epic, to be able to record monitor and perform at zero latency. Wow. This device is elegant, and a high value for the price.

I bought this at the beginning of 2018, and so far, so good. (I'll never give anything five stars only because nothing's perfect.) It's simple to use; it comes with all the instructions you need (and it even comes with two USB cords!) and it's very intuitive. My only caution would be to use EXACTLY the type of cords specified in the instructions, as TS or TRS ends do make a difference. Fortunately, Guitar Center had whatever I needed once I figured out I needed it.

I like it. Ir works like it said it would. I haven't used it enough to give it 5 stars, but so far it's definitely 4 stars. I bought it to send analog signal to my PC that was then made digital. I wanted to add 'LIVE" drums to a song I wrote. I used a 16 track board. The board was not midi. Very blurry sound, I E.Qed the tracks. I also got to much reverb from my house walls. I screwed up, thinking my way would work. In future recordings I will use the 2x2 to record live guitars, bass and keys. If I get a mixing board with midi capabilities it would render the 2x2 obsolete. ... More

I was looking for an audio interface to drive my Audio Technica M50x's and my monitors. Came across this device and decided to give it a shot...it is now my go to interface! The DAC performance is amazing! My M50x's "woke up" with this interface. The sound stage is also much wider and more distinct. Can't comment on the imput preamps, haven't used them yet.

I use This interface for music production and as a Guitar audio interface to use with BIAS FX and AmpliTube. This is a very solid interface and I love the layout and functionality. M-Audio has upped their game on the low/mid level interfaces in terms of build quality. I would definitely recommend this interface.

Been looking for a new interface. Tried Audiobox USB 96... buzzed and hummed like mad. Troubleshot. No fix. Returned. Bought this Mtrack 2x2... wow. Much better build quality and beautiful design than Audiobox. Best part. Totally clean sound. No buzzing or weird hum whatsoever. Sound quality is amazing. Running 48Khz 64 samples with no glitches whatsoever. This thing is so nice. It just works, and works very well. All you could ask for an interface. Running Cubase Pro 10.

I had to return this product. I downloaded right driver from M-Audio website, went through setup. But no matter how many parameters I tried to tweak and change, I never got clean vocal track recorded through this. It is a poorly designed hardware. I appreciate GuitarCenter's return policy. I opted for FocusRite now.

Super easy to use. Comes with protools lite, but works great out of the box with garage band. Sometimes I experience an output delay, but just unplugging the device and plugging it back in fixed the issue.
