An otherwise ok digital interface is marred by proprietary DIN port for USB interface to host, which requires proprietary DIN-to-USB cables, and proprietary plug interfaces for MIDI that require adapter pigtails to the standard MIDI 5-pin DIN connector. The cables that shipped with our iRig Pro DUO are far too short for most uses at just 2ft. That means the DUO has to be strapped to a mic stand or tripod every time we use it, and we have to pack all it's proprietary adapter cables everywhere we take it. Sound metering is also poor compared to other comparably priced digital interfaces. Having used the iRig DUO with iPhone Pro 11 Max and iPad Pro 3rd Gen and iPad Pro 4th Gen for our video capture projects, I prefer the bulkier Motu M2 and M4 for their superior sound metering, and standard USB-C and MIDI DIN connectors. Sometimes bulkier is better when there are no weird adapter cables to lose or break. If you work with sound at a desk, and never have to switch between Apple Lightning and USB-C hosts, and you have an external way to meter your sound input, then the iRig DUO does deliver clean A-to-D sound conversion. ... How covenient is a cigarette pack sized audio/midi interface that sounds great and works with pretty much any computer you can throw at it? And it will run on batteries if needed? Well I'll tell you it has been a great purchase for me. I already have several other interfaces but they are all tied to whichever computer supports the format it runs on...usb, firewire, lightning, pcie, ect. This little guy works in place of all of them with VERY CLOSE to the same sound quality. I'm also a guitarist/bassist so it makes it simple to use my ipad as a live performance and practice tool. I have an Irig 2 and believe me when I tell you the sound quality of this blows it away. Couple it with a powered usb hub and forget the batteries as well as add other devices to you Ipad to use at the same time such as a usb keyboard mixer or controller. You wll need a lightning to usb adapter to do this but they are not expensive on Amazon. Paid $7 for mine and it works great. If you need a portable audio solution tbat works across most formats, soun ds great and has midi i/o buy this, you will love it. I do! ... More

The iRig Pro Duo is delivered lacking the most basic element - a power supply. The power consumption on the two AA batteries is such that they are depleted within a couple hours of use. On the recommendation of the manual, I purchased a power supply exactly matching the specs recommended, yet it does not supply adequate power. Very disappointing to now have a product that will require many dollars per week of battery purchase and waste.

The IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo I/O 2-Channel Audio/MIDI Interface for Mobile Devices and Computers is a superior device. Before I installed it, the ambient room noise captured on my internal microphone was almost more than the intended recording. After installing it, the ambient noise is all but gone and the clarity of the recording is fantastic.

I got unit for conference phone in for backup plan but no go. Seems like an easy Irig/ Apple resolve. Unless this is fixed probably will never use it. Irig should put that fact on info pages. I've recommended it for several churches that have phone in services for their shut Ins. Glad they didn't take my advise. So money down the drain unless I can return it.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It is a small, simple, remote two channel interface. It is easy to use and simple for a non-tech person like myself to connect up to my Logic ProX. I haven't used it enough to give too many specs yet, but the mic sounds wonderful and headphones work great. I am happily surprised at this unit. Best, Bill

I bought this item for a friend of mine who lost his original one overseas earlier this year. This one is the upgraded version of what he had and he absolutely loves this one. As a musician, he needs to be able to have quality sound and this was the perfect thing to gift him with.

I really like it. It is very portable and easy to plug and play. Only downside is that it doesn’t have a hole that I can use to connect to a tripod and there seems to be no suggestions for a way to keep it steady.

This is my first irig. It's been two weeks and it only works when it wants to work. After buying this irig duo I bought an "irig stream" to test it out and that one works I'm assuming there aren't any returns

We have tried nearly every device on the market and after hours of trying to get it this to work and finally it did. The equipment is great. It was our incompetence that took so long.
