I was looking for an inexpensive alternative for an XLR audio adapter. This little box is a great little deal. It's small enough to attach to my microphone stand, yet powerful enough with the 9V, to give that little extra boost for sound. Not bad for the price.

This is a great interface to get an XLR mic into a smartphone as well as to get audio from the caller. I've used this for ENG to record news conferences, interviews, etc. and have also used this as a quick solution as a phone interface by routing the headphone output into a mixer. The fixed cable is a decent length; other interfaces are often only three or four inches. Phantom power is a plus.

I've had this product for about a year and it just did not work for me! I really wanted it to work, and spent a lot of time with it. I bought it to connect my Rode NTG 3 phantom mike to my iPhone 5 for videography using Filmic Pro. Non of the audios I've recorded with this thing were ever usable. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and wanted to give it a try. Maybe iPhone 5's pre-amps are to be blamed. I can't trust this product as non of the audios I've recorded with this products were ever usable. ... More

This is a great way to add a pre amp to any smart device so you don't have to sync video and audio separately. Great sound, I use mine with the rode nt1 and a Samsung Galaxy S8+

I am using this to improve my audio for videography. I am hooking up xlr microphones and this works great for phantom power. I did have to buy the headset buddy adapter but it was worth it, now I want to get an even better microphone for more improvement. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

This iRig Mic Preamp is a very useful tool. I shoot lots of videos for my business and to YouTube. It makes capturing amp audio or speaking / room capture very easy. Very easy to use and very affordable. Plus the size makes it perfect to carry in your mobile rig. More So than a lot of the competition. You will not be disappointed for the price. That is for sure.

Nifty little device allows field reports to easily add quality audio to iPhone videos! iPhone mic is nice, but this box allows using any mic you want. Convenient, practical, high quality and rugged (we have deployed these in the News Dept.).

Very clean audio if gain is set correctly. Only draw back is gain know is very sensitive. Other than that I love it!

It's amazing that I can record professional sound with my iPhone 4s This is a great addition to the myriad of recording apps available. I now have an entire recording suite in a small duffle bag with the ability to record high quality audio almost anywhere. It would be better if it came with a little carrying pouch. And the strap is almost useless. Make that better please.

I bought the iRig Pre a couple of months ago and everything was going great until a few weeks ago when it started to make a clicking sound as soon as I connected to my iPad or iPhone, and it will ruin my recordings.

For what it is, it works. I can now use one of my high-end studio mics when recording youtube instructional videos on my iPad. Wish it were stereo ... but I can use one of my bigger/bukier interfaces for that.

I'm using an iPhone with a condenser mic to make field recordings, and it's perfect for that purpose.

They are so many great looping + vocal apps for the iPhone that are really fun to use. The one thing that was always lacking from using the iPhone audio input was quality sound. Now with the iRig I can do what I was doing before but with the added advantage of harnessing the audio quality of the hand full of microphones (even those that require phantom power) that I already have.

Works great. After modification you can even use this as a great quiet preamp for DSLR audio input. Highly recommended

Interface worked well with connecting our dynamic mic to an Ipad for live streaming. Highly recommend it for people using a Mevo camera and Ipad software.

I'm an on-the-go news reporter, I use my iPad for filing reports, this was a little too bulky for my taste but it worked well.

Used to livestream COVID concerts from our bar, to help bridge the social distance. Worked with a variety of dynamic and condenser mics. Most commonly an Azden shotgun mic, & a Tascam TM 88. The AT2020 worked great on it only when battery was fresh. Listen in to Artichoke Sandwichbar for Life Streamed concert series on Facebook.

I got this to record rehearsals into my old iPad 2. While IK wants you to use their software, it works with any recording software. I'm using it with RecUp, a voice memo program. Hooked up my best mic, turned on phantom power, and off we went. Recommended.

I used this for recordings with my iPhone and iPad. The hardware is great, I was less impressed with the iRig recording app. It's okay, but there are a bunch of upsell feature they try to get you to buy. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.
