Some users have commented on the mic being flimsy so that it makes noise when moving around. Let's be clear--It is not a professional ENG, run-and-gun mic. It's a high quality mic for a wonderful compact digital camera that shoots decent video. And as film/video people know, it's great sound that makes outstanding video. This product is a bridge to acquiring the best possible video with a still camera. If shooting video is your priority, then shooting with a professional or prosumer camcorder with XLR inputs and a professional mic is the only way to go. Great job, Fuji!

Filming outdoors in windy conditions I can get clear sound at distances up to 20-25 feet! Crisp clean sound quality - just use the foam windscreen. On another note, here is a gentle warning concerning purchasing this item or any others. At the time I placed some of my purchases, there were 4% rewards offered. This is 1 of the reasons Ive made some purchases. Upon waiting the allocated amount of time without receiving the 4% rewards, I reach out them via chat and phone only to be told these purchases do not qualify. Im very disheartened that this was not resolved in an honest mater since I am certain it was listed on the website during checkout. Ive done a price comparison at 3 different stores comparing the items Ive purchased since the beginning of the year and all are about the same price. I will unfortunately start looking elsewhere for my purchasing needs due to this dishonest practice. So this may be one of my last few reviews of some products Ive purchased here. Take care and keep shooting! ... More

I'm diggin' this little mic and use it quite often with my HS 50 EXR for man-on-the-street, short documentary and general family videos. It does a good job of isolating target audio source and minimizing camera sound from vibration, AF and manual zoom. Moreover, the sound quality is discernibly better than that of the camera's internal mic. It's light, compact and any slack in the cord can be taken up and out of your way using the notch on the back of the mount. I have had no problems in hand-held situations.

It's not very big which cuts down on the intimidation factor when shooting in public. The sound is crisp and clear. You will want a dead cat for wind noise but all shotgun style mics do. Best thing is the fact this piece of kit just plugs into the camera and does its job. No fiddling with batteries or settings on the mic. On The X-T20 it seems to work best with mic volume set on 3 in the camera and don't forget to switch the camera setting from remote to mic for the 2.5mm port.

I am using with an X-Pro2 for some quick video work. Although it's not going to give the clarity that a dedicated lavalier mic would, it's a vast improvement over a built-in camera mic. People 10-15 feet away from the camera came in loud and clear. The mic is smaller than I expected so it balances well with a mirrorless camera.

this mic records music (solo piano) well enough, which was my reason for purchasing it. it's easy to attach it, sits loosely on top of the camera, and does it's job.

It's great that I don't have to worry about batteries! And the audio is much better than on your DSLR. It's just what I needed.

Better than the mic on my Fuji cameras and its relatively compact for travel but not the best external mic i've used.

The mic sounded fine on my GH2, but there was way too much handling noise to be useable. Sorry, it had to go back.
