I use it in a professional studio, and it's known for that use. It's known because it's a good-sounding microphone for many applications. It's a must in a decent mic cabinet.

Used for voice recording demo, review, tutorial and other videos. This mic provided the best reproduction of my voice, even better than the legendary Shure SM7B, but then again this mic is also legendary across broadcast studios world-wide.

I heard great things about this mic and thought it would be a good one to compliment my SM7b for broadcasting purposes. I actually like it more for the voice application and I might have to get another one. Super smooth and with the right EQ it's perfect. I can't wait to try it on bass and some other stuff.

I record sound for picture. Indie stuff mostly and some stuff for syfy. I have a few mics and access to many. Yes, the $5000 ones are cool. But my workman’s go to mic is the RE20. Podcast? RE20. Indie rock vocal? RE20. Animated series? RE20. It’s warm, inviting, personal and since it’s a dynamic it has great rejection. I own two. Perfect for Bass drum and amps too.

I use it to record my brass band, West Philly Orchestra. Our saxophonist requested it and he was right to do so.

This is my second RE20. My other mic is over 15 years old and going strong. I needed a second for recording dual VO in a studio. This mic is just as great as the orginal.

Absurdly easy to manage. Truly almost no proximity effect and sounds great.

Bought two of these for a radio show. Great sounding, classic broadcast microphones that give a very good character for broadcast and voice-over work. Probably the best I've heard in this capacity. Depending on the singer I have also used them well for vocals.

First used an RE20 in the early seventies working for Rose City Sound in Portland. Loved the smoothness and predictability especially compared to SM57's and 58s. Finally bought one and love it. Still a great piece of equipment.

This thing is great. It holds its own on vocals...but use it more for instruments than anything else. Has a great sound off axis on a bass amp cone, and I always put it on the top head of a floor tom.

Industry standard for a reason. I used this mic when I was a DJ, so when I wanted to recreate a studio experience for my students to create air-check recordings, I stuck with what I knew worked.

Although this microphone got it's fame as a Broadcast/Voice Over mic the RE-20's construction makes it useful in many different applications. Bass Amps, Kick Drums, & Upright Bass's all are wonderful applications for this Mic. With a 45Hz-18Khz response the RE-20 offers a clear low end with a smooth extended high end. A great tool in any engineers arsenal.

This drum sounds great on a kick. I used to use an AKG D112 (which I like) but this will now be my go-to kick drum mic. I'll keep the AKG for live work and the RE20 for studio work.

This is my go to mic for bass cab but will work well with other things like voice. You will most likely prefer to run this into a preamp with a decent amount of gain and tonal saturation, I like pairing the Re-20 with my Universal Audio LA610/Solo.

I've replaced my condenser for voiceover/narration with this and I'm glad I did. It's clear, rich, and isolates well; I don't think I need to finish a booth anymore. There's a reason this mic is standard at NPR and the Clear Channel stations I've been in.

Truly. My recommendation would be to rent it and experiment with your voice on it (because it's fairly expensive) and then buy. For me, it's a beautiful match.
