I was surprised at how well this mic performed. I'm not a pro, but I wanted better sound quality in the vids I was making. I do a lot of videos out in nature and between wind and noisy environments the sound from my R5 left something wanting. This mic took care of all of that. When I do test clips with and without the mic it's like night and day. The sound is focused right on the target, and there's no wind issues either. Completely satisfied.

I've had professional interviews done with just this mic and did not have to do much to it in post. Having the high pass filters plus a dead cat almost completely eliminates wind noise and the sound is very flat coming out of the mic. Not boomy or bassy or glassy and brittle. Voices, male and female, sound right, and gives you a lot of freedom in post when working with it. If this one dies I'm buying another one immediately.

It's no wonder that RODE released the video mic NTG with the same form factor as this. The side plug, the adjustable gain knob, the built in long life battery and the great sound. The only thing RODE missed was the price point. Deity has clean sound and a really high quality build. I love this mic and it has replaced my VideoMicPro.

Love the build, stepless gain knob and sound of this mic. Voice comes out crispy and clear. Not only does it have amazing sound quality but it's also very affordable. Sounds better than some of the more expensive mics on the market. I highly recommend this for those looking to take their sound to the next level without breaking the bank.

We use this microphone in our studio in the production of on set videos. The gain feature is very important as your sound person can listen and fine tune the audio. We use it with a mic boom and the results are stunning. It is well worth the money. We are getting ready to buy a second one for our west coast studio as soon as we are ready to launch it.

No one can say this mic or a Rode is better for you if you record your own voice with it. Need to check mics so see how it picks up your voice dynamics. Overall I like the sound from this mic far better than Rode Vid Mic Pro+. Only downside is it only goes into low power standby and does not power off when camera is off. Otherwise excellent mic.

I've had a Rode mic for 3 years now but don't like the battery replacement. Door is just too finicky for my taste. Also battery life is shorter. The adeity has a cleaner low end. Rode had too much bass. The Deity just sounds better to me.

Three things make this microphone different--a rechargeable battery, a variable gain adjustment, and a built-in microprocessor to adjust to whatever it's plugged into. I used it on a camcorder to record musicians while it's way back among the audience, and in that it excels, picking up the music but dropping the sounds of people talking to the back and sides of it.

Using this on a Canon 77D - improves the sound quite a bit, and the gain control is helpful to regulate between different voices and sounds. The mic is battery powered, so you need to remember to turn it on and off, but the battery seems to have pretty good staying power. Overall, very pleased with the mic and its performance.

Great mic for A7III. Small and light with long battery life. Balanced sound with comparable sound quality to any other mic in this price range. The gain knob is simple and easy to use. Shock mount does a pretty good job separating camera handling noise.

I love this mic. I purchased two of them and one did end up having an audio issue. It was possibly my fault but they went ahead and replaced it without question. This is a company that stands behind their products.

When I ordered the microphone, B&H said it was back ordered and they would get it only 2 days before I needed it. There service department upgrade my delivery (no charge) from New York to Milwaukee so I would have it for my project. Great service. Oh, yes, the microphone performs flawlessly. Ron

I asked the Deity tech specifically if this mic would work with my Nikon and they said yes.. It does not. It works with nothing. I have been busy in production but now am trying to get a refund or a better mic from the company

The sound quality is fine, but the one button doesn't turn it on anymore, so it's just a 200$ paperweight.

Just make sure you get a green light on the Deity when plugged into the phone. That indicates the phone recognized the external mic. The adjustable gain dial is really great since my phone has a weak preamp.
