I use the Yeti primarily for video voice-over and corporate training. This is the 5th Yeti microphone I have purchased since 2008 and all 5 are working great. I send these microphones around the world for translation voice-overs and to get Subject Matter Experts (SME?s) audio for corporate presentations. These microphones are sturdy and provide crisp, clear audio. The USB connection is easy to use with any computer setup. I have used many other brand names, but the Yeti stands far above them in quality. If I had one complaint, it would be the driver for the microphone. Sometimes it loads perfect when you plug in the USB and other times it does not read it. You have to go to the website and download the drivers. Since I am usually having people connect the microphone to their personal computers in Dubai, Brazil, Columbia, Spain and Australia, etc., I tend to expect some problems. Bottom line for corporate users: There is nothing better for video casts, voice-overs, Captivates and Flash training modules. It is a must-have for content developers. ... More

Nice full balanced sound, very flat response except in omni mode where there's a pronounced mid-bump. Proximity effect is easy to work with and control. Works well with vocals as well as instruments. Also useful for foley or sfx work, particularly in stereo mode. Having the capability of going xlr is a definite plus. When running via xlr through the Behringer preamp/board at the station I work at, the sound characteristics are almost identical to the Electrovoice RE-20's we use. Only complaint is that the usb software does not get along well with WinXP: produces a very glitchy sound. Works extremely well with Win7 however. I would highly recommend this mic for any quality recording application. ... More

I sold my Yeti to purchase the Yeti Pro, I had no problems with the Yeti, it had such an ease of use and the recordings were very precise, and I was pleased with the headphone output with the zero latency. The ability to have multiple recording patterns alone is worth the price. The USB saved me hundreds of dollars because I did not need to purchase a sound interface for my Mac. However, I could see myself outgrowing the Yeti and with the 24 bit/192 kHz digital recording resolution with analog XLR output, I knew I would have this microphone for many years. For some reason the Yeti Pro just sounds better. ... More

The Yeti and the Yeti Pro (and I assume the Nano as well) all sound somewhat dull compared to other mics. If you look at the frequency response, you will see that there is a slight decrease of both highs and lows, as well as a noticeable decline around 1k-3k. This might your voice sound thinner than other mics...if you record at the usual distance. If you record within 5 inches of the mic, the proximity effect will somewhat counteract this scoop in the frequency response and it will sound decent. Just make sure you get a good pop filter because Blue's mics are notoriously prone to plosives. This mic should not be used like other mics. It is meant to be a fix-and-forget-it solution for livestreaming, or an always-ready quick plug-and-go mic for recording. Or, in the case of the Yeti Pro, a high-sample-rate mic for field recording and sampling. It is meant to be used primarily for narration, as due to the scoop in frequencies, your voice will never cut through a busy song mix. Overall, this mic is far from useless, it is simply different from other mics and should be used as such. ... More

This mic is gorgeous. It looks gorgeous. It sounds gorgeous. Everything. I love the select-able polar patterns. The XLR out is two channel with the appropriate 5 pin out to two channel 3 pin XLR cable included. It's a pigtail, about a foot long, so you'll need cables to get you there, but you've got those, right? It also has USB if you want to go straight into your computer. This is a magnificent microphone. Heavy. Full. Rich. B&H sells an Auray molded case specifically for this and that is worth getting if you take this out or if you store it for long periods. The headphones offered here are junk (I literally threw them in the garbage) and I'm not really using this mic where I need a wind screen, but I'm glad to have it. I bought this kit because I desperately wanted this microphone and it was the only way I could get it. Totally worth it. ... More

Really happy with this mic. I play accordion while singing & the stereo setting picks up both sides of the accordion with a nice warm sound, without overpowering the vocals. That's hard to do! I appreciate having both gain & volume controls & look forward to working more with those settings. I wish there were some rig for suspending the mic upside down overhead to pick up even more vocal...but using it on a straight mic stand is easy enough. However, it would be good to have rubber washers to hold the bolts on the desktop stand in place when I've removed the mic, just so those small parts don't get lost. ... More

The Blue Yeti Pro is everything it claims to be and more. After owning several upper-end mics (condenser and dynamic), I can truthfully say I am impressed with the sound and response of this one. It deserves all the high reviews given it and it's easy to understand why so many podcasters use it (and it's easy on sibilance, too!). I'm using the xlr/analog feature, which provides a smooth, well-defined, pleasing-to-the-ear sound. Depending on your voice, you may want to tweak it a bit in post-production (I use a tiny bit of EQ and compression). By the way, I've been using the Aphex 230 Voice Channel on other productions, but this mic sounds great going straight into the interface. ... More

For my use, I could have saved $150 and gone with a Shure SM58. However, I do love the fact that it has both XLR and USB outputs, so I can plug into a mixer or directly into a computer. My desk is too thick for the boom's clamp, so I'll have to drill holes in the clamp and in my desk to mount it to the side of my desk (not going on top of desk). The pop filter feels cheap, but that's because it *is* cheap - works well, though!

I love the fact that this kit came with everything I'd need to set this up (including the usb adapter to connect yeti to cable that is in the boom arm). Blue Yeti's are one of if not the best usb condenser mics out there and I'm very happy with it. If I have one problem, it's the shockmount attachment; it sages when put at a 90 degree angle and you can't tighten the screw any further without cracking the mount or the screw. I'm currently using an old cable, tied to the shockmount and the boom, to keep the mic from sagging. If it weren't for this slight inconvenience, I'd give this 5 stars. ... More

This is the 2nd Yeti Pro mic that I've gotten and it is perfect, especially for the price, versatility, and ease of use. I use it for everything from podcasting to music demos with vocals and acoustic instruments and the audio is always crystal clear. You honestly can't go wrong with Blue, they've become a household name for a reason. Do yourself a favor and pick one of these up or any of their USB mics, they're worth every penny.

The Blue Yeti Pro is the best of both worlds when it comes to either it's USB or XLR connection. At one time it was recognized as the best microphones for Vlogging on YouTube via USB for its ease of use and ability to plug directly into a computer, but also works great as a home studio microphone via it's XLR connection. Either way it has great sound and tone. It's very adjustable and well made. I definitely recommend this microphone

SO far it's good, but there are more functions to utilize than my previous Rode Microphone. SO I'm working on getting the gain at the right setting and having the best pattern. I thought I would like the arm that came with it but it's not as nice as the one I bought independently previously so I am not using it. So far no major complaints.

Great microphone for beginners. My wife and I were able to get a decent recording on our first try, using the Audacity DAW. I will mention that the mic is quite sensitive. We had to shut down all the in-operation electric devices in the room plus a fan that runs 24-7. The mic picks up everything in the nearby area! Plan to keep using it for our Christmas recording project. Nice job, Blue!!

I love this product so much. It’s made a great addition to my studio set up and the vocal takes are beyond great. I don’t much care for the stand but that’s the great thing is that you don’t have to used the stand you can use a different one. I love the direct input monitoring and all around the feel to this mic. I will be using it to record my mixtapes albums and singles from here on put
