If you're interested in a small, simple, easy to use, yet still beautiful sounding mixer, I recomend this over all others. The one problem with most compact mixers is the excess noise, but with the Xenyx-802 you hear nothing other than what you want to hear. I am amazed at all of the different features packed into such an affordable a compact package. I can't tell you how many times I have dropped this on the ground and it still refuses to break. It's so durable and sounds so great I thoroughly recomend it.

I had a 4-channel Behringer mixer for many years. It was old, but it never gave out. It got stolen during a phase when construction forced us to put our stuff in boxes and store it. When it showed up missing, I didn't hesitate. Went right back to Behringer but bumped up to the 8-channel model. Glad I did.

I purchased this for small DJ-like setup for events where I need to pump a couple of mics and a couple of music sources through powered PA speakers. The mixer is perfect for this purpose and I can see it being very useful for small performing duos. The mixer is very transparent sound wise and sounds extremely clean through my powered QSC K10 speakers. Individual phones/control room volume and dedicated aux send allows for simple monitoring and the addition of effects. I've always been a little leery of the Behringer name, but based on this mixer and a number of rack mount units I've purchased recently I cannot believe the price/performance - and quality - of Behringer PA gear. ... We are working with a group of students doing a weekly, live news broadcast to our student body and were looking for a way to moderate our output volumes coming from our news anchors, our computer and wireless microphones. This mixer fit the bill perfectly! It's simple enough to use that the high school students working on it picked it up in a matter of minutes and it has plenty of input options to suit our needs. The only drawback(and it's a minor one) is that we wish it had an on/off switch. For now, we unplug it once we are done. The mixer worked well with our budget and we have a lot of flexibility on how to use it. ... More

I'm using this mixer as a stereo to mono summing box. I'm summing a stereo signal to an Avatone powered mono speaker. I tried a Y able and it sounded awful. After some research i found that the Y cable was not recommended. I could find no box either passive or active to just do stereo to mono summing. I also read that an active circuit would sound better than a passive. I looked into building a box on my own and I found that just buying a punch to mount an XLR connector would be the same price as this box. For my summing purpose this box is working perfectly. I can also use it for multiple other purposes such as rerouting signals in live performances to expand monitor needs. ... More

I use this with my Fender Acoustisonic Amp and with my Imac for Garage Band inputs (music and podcasting). It has the preamp gain and headroom to run Shure SM57 and SM58 mics., which both have weak output signals. The mic preamps can be cranked up and still remain quite. Awesome in this price class. 3-band EQ is very nice for vocals, and the 48V phantom lets you run pretty much any mic. Pretty much all the standard controls, and the quality seems solid. I do wish it had an on/off switch. Highly recommended.

Great little mixer, I'm sure it is capable of performing more functions than I currently know of. So far I've found that it easily plugs into my laptop with a Y adapter (received this mixer in a package and the monitors in that package came with this adapter). It provides phantom power to mics, and I've found that you can plug your electric guitar into it (to be recorded on the computer) using an amp or pedal. You plug the guitar into the amp or pedal and run a another cord from the amp or pedal into the mixer. Definitely all the mixer I need for now. ... More

I bought this to be able to better control the signal mix of my live violin and my looping pedal - I send the violin signal to the looper via the FX out and the loop signal back to FX in. The signal is very clean (a listener said it sounds better than inputting the violin directly to the looper). I only gave it 4 stars because of two minor irritations: - As others have noted, there is no power switch. Connect to AC and it's on. - the Power On light is a VERY bright blue, too intense and distracting. I taped over it with gaffer tape to mute the light (can still see it's on) ... More

I purchased this product to do live commentary using 3 separate microphones through my laptop computer. This product works perfectly and efficiently right out of the box. The best part is if you run this through your computer's mic jack (with a small adapter called RCA to 1/8) you don't have to worry about any annoying software, it's just plug and play bliss. I wouldn't dream of using any other mixer.

This is a nice little intuitive mixer that anyone with a small home studio can use. Also, it would be great for location work. The preamps are surprisingly quiet and it works well for my application as a mixer for the listening station for a folk festival.

I purchased this in order to add a second audio source, in between my music production console and studio monitor speakers. There was a significant loss in sound quality, which I didn't expect, figuring this would in-effect act as a line splitter. I am returning the unit and will purchase something more advanced/ appropriate for professional-grade audio.

I've owned an earlier generation of this mixer for 6 years and only replaced it because the wire on the power supply started to fail. I use this as a personal mixer for live performance, controlling a vocal mic and 2 or 3 instruments. You can split the output to mains & monitor and use the effects send to route signal to a tuner. Nice to have the three bands of eq, and the mic preamps are powerful and quiet. A real workhorse at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Used for home audio for mixing Mics and line inputs for use with my digital recorder. It is very easy to set up; the instructions are very clear, so it's easy to get up and running quickly. With 8 inputs, it is perfect for the small audio enthusiast. Excellent value.

Well I purchased this unit before purchasing an Alesis USB unit for my laptop. To be honest I guess you get what you pay for here. First off the unit did not have much available for directions or product support. The mic pres are far from great, and I would not recommend using them for any serious recordng. I guess this would be a good unit to use as a scratch pad for recording in order to get ideas down quickly. If you are looking for something to do demo work I would not recommend this unit. The mixer is also a bit noisy and the unit seems to not be very durable so I could not recommend using it as a portable unit. I think you would be better off to save your money and try something else. I now use the unit as a headphone mixer. ... More

I just started recording for a little over a year now, and I recieved this mixer as a gift. It has done me extremely well, and seems nearly indestructable. My only complaint is that it seems to heat up rather quickly, however, I have never experienced any difficulty with overheating or what not. Anyway, this product sounds excellent, and is just what I needed for my recording.

I use this mixer mainly as a headphone amp while playing drums. I practice with an ipod and without a mixer the music volume just isn't loud enough. Also, with my electronic drums at home I can plug the drums and my ipod into it and be able to mix the two together so I can hear my performance over the music. There's a lot more you can do with this but even for the couple things I need it for it's a great deal at a very affordable price.

I wanted to use this mixing board for several hardware synths. But that was hard to do considering the wall of noise coming out of the Mixer. Its acceptable to have a low level of noise, because analog. But no, Its like turning on your old TV and listening to the noise before you changed the channel. I literally don't know how this has 5 stars.

I use this for practicing bass at home without driving the neighbors or fiancée mad (apartment life). The mixer is great. Good sound and super simple controls. Downsides? Where's the power switch?!! It appears the only way to control on/off is to plug/unplug the power. Seems like a poor oversight given a $0.25c switch would solve it!

Hooked the 802 up to our home theatre system to use as inhouse jam sessions for vocals only and may an acoustic guitar mic. Super easy to setup and works great with condensor mic. Does all that it claims to do. Only problem I see is the lack of a power on/off switch. The size, weight, and price made this an ideal choice for small gathering use as well as adding outputs to another samll powered system.
