I give this 5 stars not because it is the best mic on the planet but for the price it is incredible and gives well beyond its price. It is like getting something similar to the Shure 58 or 57 for $20. I was skeptical but heard alot of good things on reviews and bought one. There is not enough difference to me between it and a shure 58/57 to justify another $70-80. Try it and see your self

The sound quality was the most important thing to me I do a lot of ENG style video, where the host need to hold mic and walk around and asking people question. This mic is doing great, with little handling noise and sound like at least a $$mic. It's replacing the Shure VP64A.

Use for live performances and plan to use for home recording. The mic has a great sound for such an inexpensive product. I have other Behringer products and all their equipment is top notch.

Purchased a couple of these to fill out some random recording sessions and was quickly impressed with the cost to quality ratio. They have since found regular use in podcast sessions when we do large group casts. We run these through a mixer and into a Zoom H5. The quality is so clean and clear people ask to borrow them for their own recordings. Unless you're going to spend hundreds of dollars on a mic, This is the one for you.

I picked up 8 of these for my rehearsal studio. i love them! the sound is clean and clear great on almost any voice. super durable. their bang for the buck levels are off the chart!!! they're not quite as unidirectional as the higher priced or industry standard vocal mic. but a great value just the same...

If you need a mic that does the job, this one is a really good contestant. If you are looking for a Neumann retro sound, you'll have to look elsewhere (probably also for different kind of funds). I'm super satisfied with this one, and also the shipping and handling (even during the recent Corona Crisis) by B&H was very quick and easy.

This is a very good robust super-cardioid stage microphone. I like that it has no on/off switch (those ask for trouble) and that it's smaller than comparable micriphones.

I bought this mic to use with a portable battery powered PA unit, an Alesis TransActive unit. The mic sounds good with the system but probably would sound better if used with a higher end sound system. It is well built but does not have an on / off switch so be aware of that. Good price and great service from B&H as always!

This mic is really great. It was affordable and easy to use, just plug and play. The only thing that I don't like, is that there is no on/off switch which is somewhat annoying when you are plugged into an amplifier with multiple channels; meaning that line is always hot. Other than that, it's a great buy.

To my ears, this does not sound as good as an SM58 or other big boy microphones, but when you can buy almost 5 of these for the price of just one of those, the math does itself. It's so much more than just a cheap mic though, it really is pretty solid! There are so many uses for this, so don't think that because it's inexpensive that it's Cheap...not at all! Pretty impressed!

This is the first microphone purchase I have ever made. For the money, this microphone is a solid choice for those just getting into recording, like I am. This microphone has a nice, clear sound to it. Be sure to get a pop filter. I bought 2 and would not hesitate to get another one. I am very satisfied with this purchase and will buy more products from this brand.

I have 2 of these pics in my podcast studio and they work great... I now have quality audio for my listeners and the feedback that I am getting has been super positive since I started investing in professional audio. Very happy with this product - especially when considering the price.

The mic arrived in just a few days, much sooner than I expected. It's solid and probably the best mic I own now. I still need to use it more and get in front of some people with better ears thatn mine but for this kind of money the thing is just stupendous.

Absolutely love this microphone but it requires as much gain as the Shure SM7B so your preamp had better have at least 55db of gain or you will be eating this mic (same with SM7B). 60db is the minimum for me or use a mic activator.

These Behringer XM8500s are good, low-cost vocal/instrument mics...I use them mainly to mic acoustic guitars, mandolin, and so on. I use them regularly and also carry a few for spares... Thanks B & H for getting these to me quickly and for the lowest price I've ever seen!!

The Behringer XM8500 Sounds Just like a Shure SM57 except at a fraction of the price. It sounds clear and warm for vocals and great on my Drums too. I bought mine for about 19 bucks from B&H with free shipping

I just needed a mic to record from a loudspeaker as backup for video recording audio. This mic is perfect. The sound quality is surprisingly good at this price. The build quality is that of mics costing five times as much!
