This mic is awesome for the price. I have Shure sm58's and this sounds soo much clearer. It is the same price as a 58 but is much better. I am getting a couple of these to replace my sm 58s. I would definately recomend these for the price.

When recording local bands, I like to try different microphones like this one and the Shure SM58 Beta. I have been using it for about two years now and still works like when it was brand new. What I have noticed is that a vocalist sounds good either with the Shure SM58 Beta or this one, rarely good on both. I like the fact that I have this micropone as an alternate incase the other one does not sound good, this one will do the job. I highly recommend it because it is very durable and is affordable having pro quality design and sound. ... More

Picked up a couple of these for a sound system based on recommendation by the salesman at GC. First off, they are American made. I wish that was enough but for discerning listeners, your gonna need performance as a criteria for supporting a product as proficient. These mics perform GREAT. We play a more contemporary with an edge style of music so how these would be for screamers, etc. I have no idea. The fact that they are hypercardiod menas your gonna need the mic in front of you, can't be singing like a gangsta with the mic at all different angles to your mouth. These will pick up handling noise as well but for our style that is not a problem. If you are a musician and gonna have it in a stand anyway- excellent- no reason to be concerned. If being handled just realize that the more you move it around hand to hand, etc. it might, MIGHT not WILL, pick some of that up. Have had NO feedback issues yet and clarity of voice is spot on. ... When we went to purchase microphones to complete our PA system, we tried the Audix OM-2's against the Sure 58, and a few other similar microphones. These mics beat out the rest. They sound phenomenal in a live or recording setting. The other amazing thing is how incredibly durable they are. I would recommend Audix mics to anyone. In fact, when we open for other bands, we actually bring our Audix mics with us because we prefer them to others. They're great, and the price is perfect.

I bought my OM2 about 2 years ago when I was a vocalist in a metal band. It has held up incredibly. I threw it around and dropped it so many times I couldn't even begin to count. It also sounded amazing even with how loud my screaming was. I'm now a drummer in an alternative rock band and my singer wanted to use his Shure SM58, I told him to just try out my OM2 and he agreed it sounded better than the SM58 and he fell in love with it and bought one himself. Package that with a cable and a mic stand for $10 extra, thats basically a steal. Highly recommended. ... More

This mic is rugged, and has pretty decent freq response. Very inexpensive. It’s a great workhorse. I’ve been using it to mic guitar cabs, but I’ll have it around for multi-use when gigging starts up again. I can see using it live for vox, cabs, drums... it’s pretty versatile. Is it the best sounding mic? Probably not (but that’s pretty subjective anyway: best for my vox? Best for my guitar cabs? Best for which drums? Yeah, ‘best’ is a pretty subjective term.) but it’s pretty darn useful all around. It’s a good multi-use tool, not a high quality hi-fi mic, just useful for lots of applications. ... More

The Audix OM-2 has been my main stage vocal mic for the past 2 years or so. One thing I like about the Audix is that it is very durable. When your on the road, you can rely on this mic to do the job every time. The mic still looks brand new and functions the same way it did right out of the box. If your looking for a mic for vocals, or wanting to throw a mic on a drum kit, or guitar cabinet, the Audix OM-2 will not disappoint!

I bought two of these as a replacement for my aging SM58's. They blew me away! Great clarity. I use one through a TC Helicon vocal processor and it screams! The other one is straight through the board. I run the highs in the 12 o'clock position, mids at about 2 o'clock position and lows at 12 o'clock. This works great for my set up. These mics are worth the money if you are looking for something different than Shure mics. I am happy with them!

I've been using this mic for about a year now with no problem. I've gotten my other vocalist to switch over we love them. They can handle both inhale and exhale screams, sequels and pretty much anything you can through at it. definitely built for with the lower range in mind, but it can pick up my highs just as easy. Definitely something to look into especially for the price.

Very smooth microphone the suits my deeper voice well. I have always found the Shure SM58 to be a bit boomy and I don't get this with the OM2. Female vocalist will probably not like this mic as it doesn't enhance the low end like a SM58. Very well built, less feedback live for sure, and made in the USA. Shure can't say that!

I have been a Shure man for years but one of my sound man buddies turned me on to the OM2s. I now have 3. They are every bit as good a mic as my SM58s just a bit more of a mid-range presence and OUTSTANDING feedback suppression! Highly recommended!

This thing is built like a tank (in the USA, even)! And is very clear and balanced. Super tight pattern means you gotta kinda suck on the thing, but back off a 1/4 inch and volume is perfect for backing vocals; back off a 1/2 inch and nothing (unwanted noise) gets through. I love it.

I've used Audix mics for twenty years. I was introduced to them by touring musician friends based in PDX. What I've found is their OM series accentuate the color and character of the human voice better than Shure's SM57 & SM58. When I find used OM2 mics on Reverb for under $50 I snatch them up. They're durable, sound great and don't break the bank on the used market. I just bought 3 more.

Very high off-axis rejection makes this a great live performance dynamic mic. Audix offers several good live microphones, and while the OM2 doesn't have the specs of some of their more expensive models, it's still a great buy if you need multiple high quality performance mics, and don't want to spend a ton of money.
