have had one of these mics in use for 3 months. It cuts thru with all the clarity needed in a hard rock venue. Brighter than the EV's and sure betas we use without losing the low end. Higher gain before feedback. We like them enough to replace all our vocal mics currently in use.

I've got what you would call the "itch" for new gear and trying out different mics to see what fits each situation best. It's lead me to buy a ton of different mics over the past few years and this OM7 is rock solid. As they clearly state in the manual, you have to stay right on top of the pickup pattern (within two inches) otherwise your signal drops drastically. As soon as you master the mic technique you are golden. I have yet to hit feedback and the sound reproduction is great. The proximity effect is little to none which is great because you have to bury this mic in your face to get a signal. Cranked gain and very little signal bleed from surrounding instruments. Perfect fit for tight venues with loud stage volumes (which seems to be most venues unless you are playing huge venues in the city). Grade A in my book. You get what you pay for. ... More

I've played 3 gigs with this mic so far and I love it. I used to sing through a Shure Beta 58a(a good mic also by the way). When I'd scream on a heavier song it got distorted and muddy. This mic totally eliminated that. It does take some getting used to. The sweet spot for this mic is about 2 inches away. More than three and it drops off pretty quick. I've had to abandon the "Shure Method" and try stay on the mic as much as I can. I can turn my monitor up nice and hot now without any feedback. Awesome mic!!! ... More

I have used this microphone several times at band rehearsals and I have yet to have an issue with feedback. I noted other microphone brands that other band members use tend to feedback very easily. As for LIVE performances, typically while singing Led Zeppelin's Since I've Been Loving You, other mics drop out in spots due to the dynamic levels in this song. The OM7 took on this task and performed with flying colors. To date, this is the best mic that I own and kudos to AUDIX for their exceptional design. Fit this one in your budget, you will not be disappointed. ... More

The mic will not feed back. I was able to move my monitor far closer and can now use FX w/o feedback. It's flat EQ is great, and I can stay right up on it w/o proximity effect. My favorite for rock vox so far.
