I got this for better audio on video/Zoom/Meet/Skype calls, and I'm happy with my purchase. It's a very noticeable upgrade when I listen through a decent pair of headphones: clearer and no echo. Through terrible laptop speakers, it's better, but not worth the hassle. Setup was easy: plug in and go. The headphone jack is bad; don't plan on using it. I couldn't adjust the volume well, so it was too loud, and the signal quality was noticeably poorer than my laptop's headphone jack: I could hear static while not moving or making noise. I had to manually disable the output in volume settings so that I could use the laptop speakers. You need to get a separate stand. The included one is so promising: with my laptop on a few books to make the camera the right height, the microphone on stand was just the right height to sit near my mouth but still be out of frame. Unfortunately, the included stand build is terrible. I broke off part of it while trying to adjust the mic clip, and I wasn't using that much pressure. If you get this, be extremely delicate putting it together and never expect to remove the mic clip without breaking it. I might have fared better if I had gripped the neck with a pair of pliers while adjusting the mic clip. I got a Shure windscreen and it fixed any plosive problems. The name-brand one that was a few dollars more expensive than the generic one did a noticeably better job. ... More

While you get a lot for your money, just know that the ATR2100 or ATR2100x will not fit in the shock mount. You can use the microphone clip that comes with the ATR2100x and screw it to the boom. So, the photo depicting a microphone in the shock mount is a bit deceptive.

The Mic is of medium quality-it picks up sounds from being handled that most mics do not. In addition I was having odd problems with my computer after having the mic plugged in for a few hours. USB problems like my keyboard stopped working. entirely fixed by removing the mic. the headphones are poor quality-built with cheap materials, and painful to wear after a short time. If Sony 7506's are a 10, these are a 3. And the arm and other accessories are of junk quality. No shock mount or other isolation on the mic holder, despite the fact it say there is one on the box-as a result you have every press on the keyboard on the desk transmitted up the arm and into the microphone element. even a layer of rubber would deliver some isolation, but they were far too cheap. ... I do video work and do Zoom meetings too. This mic works well for both. The microphone is good quality and sounds great. But I am giving this only 3 stars. The mic was advertised to have 1 - USB-A to USB-C cable AND with 1 - USB-C to USB-C cable. When I opened the Audio-Technica package, I discovered that it had 2 - USB-C to USB-C cables. A USB-A to USB-C cable was not included. I'm guessing it was mis-packaged by Audio-Technica. I had to go out and purchase the cable that was missing from the package. Also, the mic stand and holder is a bit flimsy in my opinion. ... More

I had read the ratings on this product in various places and I was so relieved to find that B&H Photo had it in stock, when other online vendors did not! I am very pleased with the sound quality I get from the mic, as well as the durability of the mic itself. I am not impressed with the mic stand, but I bought a mic arm that connects to my desk separately, which I had intended to get anyway. Considering the price, this is your best option for a USB/XLR (both!) mic. Your headphones connect directly into the mic. I am surprised how professional it sounds in the right room conditions. When I need a second mic, I will purchase this exact model again. ... More

I produce and cohost Art Star Scene radio on Radio Free Brooklyn. Since the shutdown I've had to do this from home and did not have decent sound quality (which is imperative) until I purchased this kit. My listeners can now enjoy quality almost as clear as in our studio.

B&H was the only place online that had this mic in stock. I originally had the ATR 2100 for 6+ years and it finally wen out on me. I love this ATR2100x and it is truly an upgrade - a Better stand, sound quality, and having both USB and USB-C cords included. I sue this mic primarily for Zoom meetings, live streaming and screen sharing content.

This Mic is wonderful for podcasting. It works so well. I didn't want to spend hundreds because I'm a new podcaster so this was perfect for the sound quality. It also comes with extras, I was shocked to get a standard USB and. USB-C, which I wanted because I have a MacBook and it's only USB-C.

My Audio-Technica Microphone was delivered but after trying it out, I noticed that right channel was not working. Called BHphoto, they told me what to do. I sent it back for replacement. They sent me an email verifying receipt and that they would be shipping a replacement in a couple of days. Emailed me a tracking number when it was shipped. Received the new microphone and every thing is working great. Thank you.

The most important thing to know about this microphone is because it is dynamic, it requires you to be very close to it but in return you get low background noise. It is nice for plugging straight into my laptop to keep my set up light, but you could get better sound quality at this price if you were willing to get an external usb audio interface.

First of all, B&H did a great job with one day free shipping during the holiday time. I use the microphone for meetings and I sound so much better than a built-in microphone on my iMac. The sound is also much better than my Logitech 4K webcam. I recorded myself on Zoom with before and after this microphone, and clearly the sound is so much better and deeper with Audio-Technica. If you are reading this review, stop here and get it.

The sound is crisp and clear, works great as both a USB and XLR mic. The extras like the boom arm stand and usb extender and cable ties gives it a professional look and is sturdy! I use this mic for live DJ sets and live streams for both DJing and Gaming! I highly recommend it and is an insane deal for the price!

This mic is commonly recommend for podcast recording and I can hear why. It deep, crisp, and clear without picking up unwanted background noise. It sounds like you are in you own sound proof box. You do have to sit close to the mic for the best recording, so a wind sock is needed to prevent popping. I upgraded from a Blue Snowball and the difference is amazing. If you podcast or need quality audio record for other projects, this is well worth the investment.

I like it a lot, so far. The devices are all nicely designed and well constructed. No instructions necessary. The software I'm using, Audacity, requires a lot of settings to be tweaked anytime input hardware changes. That's been my only delay, and it has nothing to do with this equipment. recommended.

I purchased this as a gift for my granddaughter who is recording at home due to COVID-19 as part of a choir put together online. She told me this is an excellent microphone and the recording she has made that I have listened to confirm this. We have used it only as a USB direct to the computer and have not use the XLR feature to a mixer.

I'm not sure this kit still includes the shock mount, but it shouldn't since it doesn't work with the mike, which is too thin requiring some jerry-rigging. Otherwise I am a fan of AT mikes and this is a good inexpensive one. If you need something of ultra HQ you may want to buy up.

Microphone is working perfectly. Nice improvement over headset microphone. Recording of podcasts and music is great. Boom Arm - another story. Very stiff, doesn't stay in place without constant tightening of the screws. Very hard to adjust with limited flexibility. Always afraid to break something inside, had some loud crack at one time...

Very nice audio quality, as one would expect from A-T, with high sensitivity for a dynamic mike. The clever bit is being a USB mike and also an XLR, both modes showing very good response. Handheld you can experience some handling noise, a suspension holder would be a good add-on if you use as a podcast mike. Both USB-C and USB-A cables are provided, as well as an XLR cable and a plastic but rather clever folding mike stand which does the job ok.

In a COVID-19 world, we needed our clients to be able to leave their XLR equipped studio and have a quick USB hook-up at home. All that versatility AND studio quality. Could not ask for a more cost efficient option.

When my last mic died right before I had multiplie podcasts scheduled, I knew I needed a quick and reliable replacement. This ATR2100x arrived quickly and has performed well. The stand and holder have a cheap feel but I ditched the tripod and attached it to my boom arm anyway and it has worked well.
