This microphone records great sound. It does exactly what you expect it should do. You plug it in and record without worrying about the quality of the sound. I have used in a very large room with a lot of background and ambient noise. It recorded the on camera talent perfectly with very minimal pick up of the background or ambient noise. It is nice to have equipment that can deliver such quality and not break the bank. I would highly recommend this product.

Our priests use this microphone under their vestments during Mass. The pickup is clear and crisp. The weakness for us is the connector. It tends to become moveable after a year or 2 and generates loud, cracking sounds when the wearer moves.

Nice, rich sound and the mic clips are light so if someone is wearing a lightweight shirt, it will still clip on and not tug it down.

I actually got a chance to buy this in the store. One of the things that was pointed out to me was that it has it's own battery power source unlike some of the other mics in this price range that I was looking at. This was important since I use a Tascam recorder most of the time for audio and was told that using the phantom power dramatically reduces the battery life.

I usually use a boom with an AKG-1000 to do field recordings with video. But I needed to hide a mic on an interviewee last month and bought this one. Works great! It has a very clean sound, and the chord underneath the shirt didn't rustle easily. My one complaint is the tiny holders provided: all were somewhat big and showed up in the shot more than I would have liked. Otherwise, great tiny mic!

This is a very good sounding mic for a reasonable price. It is small and extremely easy to hide and comes with several different clips to attach it to clothing. The battery capsule is a little on the large side, but using this in combination with a portable field recorder stuffed in a pocket will allow your on-camera talent to roam freely for a fraction of the cost of a wireless lav set up

I have used other lapel mics in my day and none of them compared to the high quality non-distorted and very clean sound I got from this lavalier mic for use with my Audio Technics wireless receiver. I received fast shipping from B&H and received the product just in time to record our first meeting and I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality outcome of the recording. Great quality for a great price. I would highly recommend this product for your Audio Technics wireless receiver.

We had been using wired, dynamic lavs, but the signal output was too low in many cases. We needed a mic that would have a strong signal compared to the noise floor, and be able to peg the VU meters on our field mixers if necessary. The AT899 was perfect for this. Small size is important for our interviewees, and this mic deliveres a great output level with low noise from a very small package.

I do interviews for promo pieces for not for profit organisations, and documentary work, and these lav's are an excellent, low cost mic, with good bass response and a full sound, easy to mix with shotgun audio. They come with an excellent accessory kit (a diverse range of mounts and clips), and plug straight into my Audio Technica wireless transmitters. They also come in a sturdy clear case. I've never had any problems with Audio Technica gear.

I really want to get to the point where I'm using a Boom mic on a C Stand for interviews. I'd love eliminate microphones attached to talent. But, I have to say of some of the Lav mics I've used in the past, this is one of the most discrete mics on the market that still gives you great audio quality. The mic also came with a nice carrying case and a variety of attachments. I'll be adding the invisible lav strips to make this set up even more discrete. A must buy!

I use the product to do voice over for animations and as a secondary recording method for shooting narrative films on a set or in the field. Easy to put on the talent and despite being omni-directional just focuses on the voice, even when outside. The extremely small mic head (perfect for concealing) seems a little fragile, could easily break if not handled properly which you should do anyway.

I use it with Sennheiser 2000 series and Zaxcom 900LTH as a backup to my COS-11D. Great sound and very sturdy build- and comes with useful accessories. Seems to emphasize the mids a bit, and is very clear and crisp sounding. Even more so than the COS-11D which has a very well rounded and natural sound.

I've been using these mics for years and never once had a problem. The sounds is great, and being that they're wired, the mic is simple to use and reliable. I often shoot in cities and office buildings where interference can be a problem with wireless mics, so these often come in handy for that reason too. If you're looking record people speaking, this is your mic.

I'm using it as we speak here at the American Heart Association annual meeting, for CardioSource WorldNews. Doing video interviews with some of the worlds leading Cardiologists, so you know I have to be ready to go, and in perfect working order at all times. That's what this mic has delivered since we got it. Great gain for a tiny mic!

This Lav. Mic was recommended to me as being equal to the Sony brand. I found the sound equal if not better than the sony 44 or 55. There was a big savings. The equipment was very different than Sony but worth getting used to....

I am using this mic with the AT wireless system. We are constantly shooting with the wireless receiver mounted on the Panasonic HPX170 HD camera. I love the ease of use and the clarity of the sound. I was particularly impressed with the wide range of accessories for mounting that came with the mic. I highly recommend this product. Julian Chojnacki/Director

I use this as a wired backup to the Sennheiser Wireless Lav, and the sound matches well, at less that half the price. The mic clip is a little obtrusive though. I keep it just offscreen in the CUs.

For the price, I think this was a great mic to buy. It gives a full sound, nice lows and crisp. I have experience with cheapo lavs and there is a big jump in quality. One thing I haven't been able to find is a clip to harness the power adapter onto my subjects' belt, but I'm probably not looking in the right places.

We used this microphone to record eleven videos ranging from a few minutes to nearly an hour. The sound was superb. It did not pick up an movement of clothing or the body. The cord was a bit long, but we worked around this.

I purchased this thinking I could get by using it as a back up to my Sony wireless mic but that was a mistake. The sound might be passable for some users I'm sure, but if you are at all serious about quality interviews and warm full sound for your clients then definitely do not use this mic. You are much better off to spend an additional $100 and get something like the Sony ECM-55 or ECM-77.
