The sensitivity of this product is exceptional, and while the basic product isn't as "warm" as other microphones I've worked with, I'd describe it as having a significantly more crisp recording capacity. I use this product in tandem with a VoxGuard, and a metal pop filter for optimal quality. Thanks AT for making such a great product!

Simply the best. Excellent choice for female vocal recordings. Very close to the renowned classics microphones.

I’ve been using an AT2020 for a little while and was looking to upgrade to something a little nicer. The 4040 just sound clearer and has more detail. A therapy great buy, especially for the price. The shock mount is also a really nice addition and step up.

I don't know much about recording which is precisely why I got it. I threw a pair of these into my grand piano in my living room, and with zero effects or EQ and the recording is shockingly good. Really nice mics.

This mic is a multi-use wonder. Records voices very well, excels on acoustic guitars and other transient dependent instruments. Great Mic, excellent value..

Thing can mic up pretty much any instrument and play some sort of beneficial role in the mix whether it’s drums, horns, voice, backed away from guitar amp sounds great. Built to last, looks great and sounds even better.

This mic is working just fine as a mono overhead for drums. It adds a nice room vibe and captures the cymbals well without them distorting or overpowering everything else in the mix. I haven't used the mic for vocals or anything else yet.

Got a good price on a very functional AT4040, brand new in the box with shock mount and everything. Works great. Completed my second set for live guitar tracking and room mics etc.

This is a great mic! No kidding, i really love it, for the price its great. I also have a 2035, and there is a difference in the two mics. The 4040 is crisper. But their both great mics.

The quality and craftsmanship of this mic is amazing. I used this to replace both a Rode NT-1 and AKG P220 and I've been nothing but impressed.

Used this to do pre-pro vocals for softer parts of songs in a melodic metal band. Excellent quality that surpassed my expectations

great mic for a small budget. has a nice crisp sound on the vocal, but its not always clear as far as your voice goes. i thought it may have been my room and setting or maybe just me. i tested it against other mics i had and it was just this mic.. when it seems to be working well the mic does sound great but if your trying to avoid a little hassle i say choose another mic. if you don't mind a little hassle then i say go for it. i also returned this item.
