I bought these to record my acoustic guitar and possibly some vocals and I couldn't be happier!!! They pick up the tone perfectly!!! They both work great and I have made several awesome recordings already! I would recommend these to anyone who wants to upgrade microphones or get new microphones to start out. They are very inexpensive, so I thought I was getting a pair of mediocre microphones but they are everything BUT mediocre. They are perfect for anyone who wants to start recording, or replace inferior microphones. I'll probably never buy another mic in my life, these ones are great! ... More

I broght Audio-Technica AT2041SP for my in house studio and this mic blew me away. I've had alot of expensive mics before, but this one is the competition against sound. Honestly, this is a great mic for home based studios or for use on computer software such as fruity loops, cakewalk, reason, etc. Beyond that i'm not sure, but it will give you a good feedback. The price for the Audio-Technica AT2041SP is under rated. This is a better mic then what the price is and i'm not sucking up. Trust me, it's better than what the price makes you think. ... More

The small diaphragm mic was very difficult to operate. It was very touchy and I didn't like the sound. The large diaphragm mic was the opposite. I tried it on vocals and a cymbal. I'm not sure what I liked about the sound I got from it, except that it seemed real and undistorted. I don't think it is worth it just for the large mic. I think I would use it, however there are plenty of other mics in this price range. (I'm using Logic, a new iMac, and a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 firewire interface, 24 bit recording).

I'm currently using 2 AT2020 as overheads and they sound, to me, much better than the MXL V250 is was using. I was using the AT2021 at first for a snare mic but the AT2020s pick up the snare so well, I used it for a hi hat mic since I do a lot of foot work. It picks up very nicely for that use, plus it's high SPL. Overall, working with a budget, these are amazing! I'm still working on using my mixer properly but I'd imagine they will just sound better when I can balance them better. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone that doesn't have $1000 to spend on mics. ... More

I started using Garage Band a few weeks ago to record guitar and voice. I realized quickly that the SM57 I was using for vocal and guitar was not cutting it. Guitar center suggested this 2020/2021 package and I tried it. What a difference. I am sure there are better and more expensive mics out there that might be even better. But for a home recording guy just starting out, this seems like a lot of value for the money.

I bought two of these packages so I would have the two medium condenser mics along with some other medium and large condenser mics for up close recording of individual instruments and use the two pencil mics to capture the stereo image from back in the audience. These two mics in this package do not disappoint -- the aural quality and clarity is great and considering the price they are phenomenal.

2020 - Smooth lows, crisp highs, and natural midrange. A fantastic mic at a very good value. 2021 - Excellent for highs and midrange. Unfortunally gets overwhelmed easily by lows. However, for most of its applications that is not a problem.

bought this for a small home project studio. Very cheap for 2 condenser mics. A/B these mics against shure sm27 condenser. Both me and my kid liked the 2020 better, felt it was clearer and more realistic sounding on both voice and acoustic guitar. The 2021 sounded thinner with less bottom end. We'll use them on drums, guitar cabinets.

Good microphone set for recording guitar and voice. The AT2020 is a little on the heavy side so, if you use a boom microphone stand, be sure it's a good quality stand that can support it.

I'm using the microphones for ADR and Foley on a short film project I'm doing. They've performed fantastically - and integrated with my Zoom H4N (Note: You'll need to provide Phantom Power).

I use this for recording voice over and for recording on my portable 8 track studio. I bought an inexpensive M-Audio DMP3 pre-amp to help with the slight muddiness of both microphones. Overall, good value for the money, I'm not expecting amazing results for the price.
