As a Radio Production Director and voiceover guy I wanted a small mic to take on the road and record when needed. After a LOT of mic shopping, comparisons and reviews I decided on this mic. Best decision ever! This mike is built like a tank, offers great real-time monitoring via headphones, has all the proximity of a great condenser mic and the drivers loaded in a heartbeat. Love love love this mic! Thanks AT! Great product as usual!

this condenser mic is tried and true for a home studio setup, i was also pleasantly surprised at the quality of the headphones! boom stand disappointed me a little bit, not the best quality some of the screws didn't really hold and i felt uneasy keeping the mic in it so i just ordered a desktop stand which is honestly ideal for my setup and inexpensive. finally have my setup running and i'm very happy!!

I was really pleased at how...easy it was to get it up and running. It's really convenient having USB connectivity directly to the computer. It does a great job of isolating vocal input while eliminating background noise. I originally thought I would have to build an enclosure since it would be pretty close to the computer, but after testing it out I don't think there will be a need for that anymore.Overall, I'm extremely pleased with build quality, price and performance of this mic.

The stand, reflector, and pop filter are a nice addition to the microphone. However, to attach the microphone to the stand, you have to use the connector that comes with the microphone's original tripod, which is somewhat awkward to use, because it adds 1-2 horizontal inches. It would be better to have a separate, dedicated connector specifically for this combination. Also, in the end, I didn't use use the stand. It's too tall to put in front of my monitor, where the mic needs to go. Instead, I used the reflector with the mic's original tripod, and the pop filter. ... More

For a medium priced microphone the sound quality and noise levels are very good. This mic works well with my MOTU M4 audio interface. Without a shock mount is does pickup some table vibrations. One thing that surprised me was the cardioid pattern changes with frequency so for certain frequencies it will pickup sounds behind the mic. I only bought (1) to experiment with but plan on buying a second for a stereo pair.

I am a trombonist and I have been looking to upgrade my equipment I use for practice and audition recordings. This mic is a definite improvement over my previous ...set up. I chose this mic for its price and versatility. I have been using it along with a Blue Icicle preamp, and have had no issues. The recordings I am making are generally honest, if not a little dry. Hoping to upgrade my preamp and add another mic in the future.

This mic is a steal at $. I used it to record vocals and to record my radio show. It produces a very well rounded sound: clear and crisp at the top; round (but not meaty or whoofy) bottom. I would highly recommend as a multipurpose mic.

The mic arrived on time and undamaged. It is the first professional quality mic that I have owned and I was very impressed with the ease of installment. The performance over my old mic was immediately noticeable. I do language instruction over the internet and clarity is critical. My students made favorable comments from the very first class meeting. The rest of the package was also of good quality and taking into account the price was $49 less than a competing vendor; I feel that I got what I paid for and more. This leaves the question how much better could the $600 mic be? ... More

I purchased a second one because I do professional voice over work & occasionally forget & leave it either at work or home, which means about an hour round trip to go get it if I have to do a read. Great little mic, very forgiving & a nice sound.

Not sure whether my kit was different, but the mics DID come with the stand adapters. Two things: they are in with the mics themselves, and you will need to remove the thread-adapters in them for these stands. Use a butter-knife to take the adapters out. PERFECT little podcase recording set-up. Well Done, B&H!!

I use the microphone to produce audition sound files for prospective employers. What I needed was something that was easy to install, produced excellent quality sound, and that would stack up against more expensive microphones. This is EXACTLY what I needed. The installation was seamless and simple and the resulting sound is excellent and compares with microphones two to three times as expensive. If auditioning or producing professional, quality recordings is what you need to do? You've found the microphone you've been looking for!!!

I use this mic with Final Cut Pro as a voice over mic which performs perfectly for the task. Very clear sound, robust performance. It would be nice if a pop filter was included with the mic but they are cheap enough.

Other mics are C214's which we use all the time for vocals recording. I wanted a large diaphram for some voice over work and I needed to reduce background noise. For comparison on Voice Over, I still prefer small diaphram but I did not want to spend another $600 for another Audio-Technica AT4053b. This mike takes high SPL well and is a good buy. So five stars for Price/Value/Quality. The reality is that with mics, it is all in the preamps. Depending what you want at the end of the chain, buying a Grace Design m101 for $700 will mean more than spending anymore on a Mike. ... More

I used a similar Audio-Technica mic (the AT2020USB) at work, and was impressed so I bought this one. It is very easy to use and gives high sound levels and instantly is recognized by Win7x64. A great choice for voiceover narration work.

I use this mic for streaming video games and I have to say it's a really solid, quality-build microphone. I used to have a Blue Yeti mic, which was massive. This is maybe 2/3 the size of that but doesn't sacrifice quality in that reduction. Very easy to get up and running with USB plug-n-play. The only super-slight issue I have with it is that there is a blue LED light inside the mesh that as far as I can tell, can't be turned off. It can be pretty distracting, especially if you have it on a boom that keeps it nearly eye level. ... More

Bought this for podcasting and basic music recording (vocals and acoustic guitar). B&H was definitely the cheapest place to get this mic. I'm sure there are better condenser mics out there but they cost $300-$400 or up to the thousands so this is a steal for what you get. I haven't found any real problems with it so far. For this price you can't really go wrong.

I got this microphone for skype conference use, with the intention to make some youtube home-studio recordings later. The first time I used it, everyone commented that it was a night-and-day difference form my old microphone. The pickup is good from a foot or two away, so I may not need to use my pop filter at all with this one. The desk tripod works well, and I can set it aside and unplug the usb cable when I'm not using the microphone.

A bit premature to leave this review as I haven't used it much yet. Bought it for acoustic guitar and it seems to work good for that. I have a large condenser (SP C1) and a SM57 that I'd used a bit for acoustic - neither is ideal. This one here is sorta in between. This is a MEDIUM CONDENSER. Seems bigger in picture. I wasn't fooled by that, I'd done a bit of research. Comes with a cool little mount, but I use it with my existing shockmount. Great value mic - price sealed the deal for me and steers me toward 4 stars vs. 3 - what a steal! ... More

I'm no professionals so I can't speak of the technology specs of it. I record sound for my youtube videos and occasionally signings...And works awesome way way way better than any other microphones that I've had, wired or wireless. It's sensitive but also doesn't capture all the noise in...I don't know how it does it but I love it. I'll highly recommend it if you are a hobbyist like me that are not looking for spending a fortune for a studio grade microphone...
