I use the AT2020 for my little home studio and it definitely gets the job done! Have used it on electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and of course on vocals. Music recording and podcasts. My only complaint is that there isn't enough low end on vocals, pretty midrange and highs, but not a deal breaker. Don't think about it, go and get one! It's definitely a gem for the price!

This is a great option for a tight budget, and has a very warm sound. For vocals in a home studio it works fantastic, and it is a sold option for recording acoustic instruments as well. Buying was easy and it shipped fast too.

No matter how rich you are or how big your studio is, you need the cheaper mics as well if you want to be taken seriously. Some of the most expensive mics are not the right mic for the work you're doing. My AT2020 works perfect for my voice as well as the voice of some of my clients. Besides that, I have used the mic for recording acoustic guitar, electric guitar amps, and bass amps as well. It really depends on the sound you're looking for. I have no experience using this mic for drums. However, according to some other reviewers, it should work amazing. ... More

For the longest time, All I had was dynamic microphones. During my recordings, there was a odd hiss under everything. Never could get rid of it. Since getting my AT2020, I've been able to be CRYSTAL CLEAR. I can't suggest this enough if moving from Dynamic to Condenser.

I purchased this mic on sale for about 51 dollars and to say I got phenomenal bang for my buck would be a huge understatement. The quality this delivers is in a whole other threshold of microphone than most mics that are going to run you about 100 dollars. If you are considering a microphone to start recording music, I would definitely recommend this.

The AT2020 condenser works well for me in a single-mic situation for an acoustic duo. It has pretty close to 180ยบ range and easily picks up both of us from 12-18 inches away. It sounds great and takes EQ very well. It's really rugged feeling and heavy-duty in construction. It comes with a vinyl zipper-bag and an adjustable metal base that has a screw-in adapter to fit most common stands. You can get one pretty cheap used. Can't go wrong.

We purchased two of these for our High School's Audio Engineering program; they are a vast improvement over our inexpensive condenser microphones. Coupled with our RND 511 Preamp, the microphone's sensitivity is perfect for voices, guitar cabs, and cymbals. With the coronavirus lockdown, I'm using this as my vocal mic for Zoom meetings and online videos for students. Overall, a versatile, inexpensive, and consistently reliable microphone. Buy a pair and be prepared!

I use it for recording pipe organs - which is a challenge in-itself. Extreme dynamics, very low bass and very high treble. It all comes out clean with 2 of these mics. I was hoping that I could find an exact match for my other mic and sure enough - Audio-Technica is still producing this un-sung hero of the recording world.

I bought this mic to use in home recording with my Zoom R16 and could not be happier. I don't sell my recordings, so cost of equipment matters. I love the presence this mic brought over others I've tried. This is my third AT mic I've used in different contexts, and the AT2020 has only made me an even bigger AT fan.

I wanted a mic that will take whatever sound is coming out of my guitar cab and send it through the house. This mic does exactly that. It's a much more honest sound than a 57 or a Senheiser. The sky's the limit for mic's and if I was in a studio I might spend more money on one, but this mic is perfect for my live use. There's no bleed and it sounds fantastic.

Although other mortals that are not musicians will never note which kind of condenser microphone was recorded on Original-Non Original songs, this mic does the job for amateur recordings, demos or early sessions in your songs. Works as it is, it nice and well built. But it won't neve replace high end mics for professional recordings. Just try it!

I use it for home music demo vocals and acoustic guitar, as well as some professional Voiceover projects.

I've been using the AT2020 mainly to record vocals, but I'm looking forward to using it for some guitar work! I normally use a blue yeti USB mic for vocals, but this has been a really nice upgrade. Works great, sounds great and the price is even better. All around I would definitely recommend this mic.

Must have mic for any collection! These sound great on vocals, as well as any kind of overheads. recorded a friend playing piano with 2 of these and split them hard left/right and it sounded beautiful. Awesome value!

For just under 100 dollars this mic sounds great. I'm using it to record acoustic piano and vocals. It's easy to use and clean to hear. I always wanted a large cap mic for recording this is my first one.

I use this fine lad in conjunction with a Boss Acoustic Singer Pro and it produces very clear results. I will be needing a pop filter for sure even for the mere breath made by some singing. It's sensitive but controllable, making it robust.

I own a pair of these and use them for a lot of different things! They mainly get used as drum overheads but I've also used them for vocals, and both electric and acoustic guitars. They're fantastic budget microphones and would recommend them for anyone on a budget!
