Our piano lid is closed due to the area we are in. The Current mics we use do not work well with a closed lid. The M40 Piano Mic made a vast improvement on the sound quality coming from the piano.

l looked for various options and bought this mic. The design is clever: the mic can be put in a piano, where seems a good place for it to pick the sounds. It also comes with a pre-amp that can be placed outside of the piano, another plus of the design. One easy thing can be improved: it should indicate clearly in the product description that an interface/adaptor is needed.

We use this mic inside our grand piano with the cover closed. Set up is so easy - we can leave it inside and just attach the XLR cable to the external box, mounted on the dolly. And the sound is excellent - much better than the mic on a boom with the cover partly open. Because the lid is closed, there is much less unwanted sound from the rest of the band. Overall, an excellent product.

Perfect for use in grand piano set in the top cover. Wide range of frequency inputs with treble and bass shines in full-bodied. We are using in our church and ing musicians and sound technicians enjoyed the performance of this microphone, so we recommend.
