AKG really ought to change their headphone model numbers. They have several models designated "K240," and the differences between them can be extreme. Case in point: I've used a pair of K240df ("diffuse field") phones, for years. They sound spacious, and fairly natural, with low listening fatigue, and they've held up quite well after uncounted hours of studio use. But I wanted a good backup pair of phones, and I thought the K240's (no "df") would be reasonably similar, at a lower price. No such luck! I found them muddy, with the bass overwhelming everything. Upper mids just weren't there. I really was surprised at how poorly they performed. I could get marginally acceptable sound by rolling off the bass in my headphone amp to almost zero. Even then, the stereo imaging was poor. I guess they work for some people, but I sure didn't like them. ... More

I am very pleased with this product and after reading some reviews. I finally pulled the trigger on this purchase because it is on sale. But I am really impressed with the sound out of the box but will try to burn it in and will try much more good headphone amplifier.

These headphones transmit sound very clearly. I use them while recording video to monitor audio as well as while editing. These headphones work well for my needs, they don't feel heavy after several hours of use. I'm satisfied based on what I paid.

So the product delivers better then expected sound quality in high and low ranges. These units were so much better than average, I bought 3 for my studio for use with visitors, unscheduled guests and some mediocre backup singers that wouldn't know these from their Dr. Dre's.

Used in home recording, hours under headset. Comfort, headset being held over your ear provides excellent sound level. Sound quality for my "lil" ears, crystal. Own four other brands. Pair number two is for movie library. Thank you AKG and B and H for your quality and service.

I use this headphones to play may electronic piano. The quality of sound seems good (I didn't have the chance to really stress them). They are pretty light, and I can wear them for long time without any problem.

I use the headphones at work all the time. I was concerned with noise leak and there is very little. The sound quality from them is insane. I just use them for music so I don't know how they would do in a music studio. They are very light weight and the head adjustment band works great as well.

Light weight and comfortable, these headphones are a great upgrade at an even better price if you are going from consumer headphones to professional quality.

They are rather decent. They feel a little big, and they are a bit loose. They have a rather neutral sound, so they're not allthat heavy on the bass end or treble, and they have decent mid.

cheap, traditional, old school but still works fantastically!!! really recommend it to people who listen to acoustical, classical, voice music styles which required higher or clean quality of the headphone!

These headphones showed me there is indeed, a difference between closed back headphones and open back headphones. These , I think, are listed as semi-open back. I really like the sound. Arrived quickly and was well packaged.

I use these for practicing my guitars and bass at night. They sound great to me. I don't now how they compare to "high end" headphones but they are a nice step up in both sound and comfort to my old AKG K44 headphones.

I'd recommend these headphones to any person beginning to get into recording/mixing/etc. The sound quality is beyond fantastic for its price, especially when these are on sale! I was also skeptical of buying headphones just for audio mixing, but learned that it's more than worth it!

These sound really good , use them for editing audio for video projects. Good definition and pretty balanced, in terms of getting good clarity for dialogue and corresponding natural sounding bass for this application.

I have been using the vintage version of this model for more than 30 years. This isn't quite the same as the old one, but realllllllly close!
