Clinical Reference Tool
These headphones are great for the price point, and I certainly prefer them to the Sony MDR-7506 (I think these are sturdier, fit better, and sound better), but at the end of the day these aren't designed to flatter what you're listening to. Better bass than 7506, but, just as uncomfortable.
I use these for sound mixing within corporate video. I can say that for me the difference in bass sound quality between these and the MDR-7506's is quite noticeably better. Other primary difference here is the head band between earphones. The padding is noticeably thicker than 7506, but I was disappointed that the band is so narrow. They sound beautiful. But the creaking is absurd.
The audio is fantastic! I do love listening to these. I am sibilant sensitive and these have fantastic clear highs. Bass is controlled, powerful, and honest. Midrange is full and does not get influenced by highs or lows... I reach for these more than my other headphones. That being said the creaking and squeaking that these headphones have, is maddening. Mid-priced, but not a middlig performer
Once past the $100 level for headphones there are lots of good choices, however for less than half of that, the MDR-7502 represents a good value. Sonically awesome, comfortable, but one big flaw
I love these headphones, they barely leak and are surprizingly comparable to the HD 600 that are priced similarly but are less versatile. I havent had any problem wearing these all day either, they're built much better than the older 7506 and v6's with, obviously justifying the price point far nicer materials. These are really great headphones, and I own (and have owned) lots, both cheaper and more expensive ones. Balanced, with great detail and clarity, tight but powerful bass that doesn't bleed the mids and a decent scene for a closed can. You can't ask for more. Great Sound but Mechanically Noisy
As a looong time Sony headphone user for location film sound and studio voiceover, I have used the 7506, the 7509, and splurged on these 7520. The sound is accurate, full, and terrific. Best I have ever owned. Neutral quality headphones for your monitoring
These studio headphones have that flat sound response you would expect from your monitoring system, so you can fully trust your ears after, of course, the given time to really know them. These phones are great
I have MDR 7509 HD which are very good, but the 7520 model is much more accurate and balanced. There is excellent detail without being edgy, and their bass is deeper and cleaner than the 7509 HD. Some folks believe that lots of bass is good, many headphones have bass response that is boomy, but these have accurate bass as well as midrange. As a sound designer and voice over actor, I have owned a pair of Sony MDR-7506 phones for many years. Theyre the industry standard and sound fantastic. Beautiful sound
This is my first pair of professional-quality headphones and the difference between my usual ear buds and these are SO much better. The difference is staggering. The sound is beautiful, with a great deal of depth and texture, even if I'm just listening to background music on Pandora or something. Fantastic Headphones For Monitoring
I personally use this product for monitoring my guitars while recording in my home studio. The main reason I purchased this was because a few of my friends who do a lot of studio work use them and swear by the for being some of the most neutral sounding over-ear headphones they have ever used. I can honestly say that they were right on the money. These Sony MDR-7520 headphones blow my Sennheiser HD280 Pros out of the water, and I swore by the Sennheisers for years. I honestly can't say that there is much that isn't so great about this product because it truly has knocked my socks off.

Great Value Headset
I really liked this purchase. Solid headset, fits my need of a simple lightweight inexpensive headset to use for video editing where the sound is not the main focus of the piece. I like that it's compact and produces good clear sound. I have bigger ears than a regular woman, so they feel a bit small and do not fully wrap around my earlobes, causing a bit of discomfort... but not enough to make me disapprove of it. I truly recommend it, especially for amateur videographers and alike. There are better headsets out there, but they also come with a big price tag. This is great value.

Comfortable, even and clear sound
Use them for my NYC commute via an iPhone and occasionally to monitor with an H2 mic. For music, you may have to turn them up to get decent bass and although they're closed-ear, can cause sound to leak out quite a bit (this could cause you to bother your fellow straphangers and risk being labeled as that guy). Very comfortable but they don't fold up. Cord feels durable. I have small ears that barely stick out from my head and these phones don't clamp onto my skull. I wouldn't say that I could dance around wearing them but they stay on firmly enough navigating the subways of NYC.

These are lovely and surprisingly accurate headphones for under $50. Those complaining about bass response should re-evaluate their purchase. Also, if you drive them properly (an amp more powerful than an iPhone) they do indeed have some great low-end detail. That said, they are not completely flat and have some colouring to them. They work great with multimedia or as utility cans, however, if you have a discerning ear, they may be annoying for listening to music because of how much they separate the mix of a song (again, they are STUDIO MONITORS).

Hardly a professional studio equipment
The 7510 have very similar problem to the older 7506 model - way too much treble, with high peaks so, that for me it was painful to listen for more than a few minutes. Build quality is not bad, but not good either. Overall construction I would describe as very flimsy looking. There are a lot of headphones on the market, for the same price which built like a tank (look at Sennheiser 280 at least). 7510 on the contrary, remind the rather my cheap (if not even fake) headphones I had as a kid. I am at loss to say how Sony call this a professional headphones.

Good Bang for the Buck
We recently purchased Several more MDR-7502 headphones for our company. We use them for our professional interpreters while interpreting for conventions. Most all the interpreters I've personally worked with are VERY picky about sound quality. We originally had several larger, more expensive headphones, but most of the interpreters prefer these smaller, lighter weight headphones which still have excellent sound quality. We have tried MANY different types of headphones over the years and have chosen these above all others for quite a few years now.

Really Good
Because of construction at where I work, I am being moved to an new office that I will have to share with 3 other people in a public area of our building. Being the video editor on staff, this meant that I could not use my speakers whenever I am editing. After reading about many types of headphones, I decided these were the best options. While nothing can take the place of hearing the audio out of good speakers, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the sound was on these headphones. Lots of range, crisp sound. Overall, very excellent.

Best bang for the buck
I contacted a friend who plays professionally in a very well-known Country band. He's a keyboard player, like me, and he always wore headphones on stage during live performances. So I asked him which brand he liked best that wouldn't break the bank so to speak. He recommended this one. So I took his word and he was right! These are far and away the best phones I've ever owned. Crystal clear sound quality, great bass response, etc. They are a bit pricey, but I found a pair on-line for slightly less than $300. You won't be disappointed!

Decent pair of headphones
I have multiple pairs of headphones for different uses and always get a pair of cans for under $100 for my daily commute. Since I broke my previous pair I was looking for a replacement and got those from the B&H superstore. They feel a bit flimsy and I have a feeling they could break quite easily but the sound coming from them is decent and they're pretty comfortable. For $ it's not bad at all. The cable is a bit too long for a mobile use but it's not too big of a deal. I hope they'll last at least one year if not 2.

Just what I expected
I'm a video editor that works in pro tools a lot to do VO, sound design and audio mixing for my videos. I was using the bests by dre headphones at first, but no ideal for hearing the most accurate sounds .. These headphones are clear and u can hear the dynamic ranges in frequencys. It does not boost the lows, mids, or highs. It simply outputs what you really have. Would recommend for anyone who does professional work or seeks to. I still have my beats, they're really great just for listening to my music

Plasticy and cheap
I bought a pair of these and they broke right above the ear. The piece that slides back and forth to adjust the size for your head broke within 6 months. I really liked the sound quality of them, so I ordered another pair, and within 4 months, they broke in the same place. While the sound quality is much better then your average $50 headphones, Id only buy these if you will use them in post-production, and not in a rougher production environment, because they are built pretty cheap.
