Excellent Headphones with CREAKY JOINTS
If you want to enjoy these NICE sounding headphones you're more than likely need to get lucky on your draw, because mine came Mechanically Noisy, CREEKY in the Joints, it makes the headphone experience COMPLETELY USELESS. If you want to fix them, you're going to need Dental Floss and wrap around many times TIGHTLY. Stay away from these and get another pair.

Headphones are amazing, Case doesn't fit them.
The bundled case doesn't fit the headphones it comes with. Just buy the headphones. But do buy the headphones because they are fantastic.

Bad Audio
Bad audio I bought this because there were a lot of positive reviews saying it looked a lot like the MDR 7506. Clear, crisp, and flat
I've been using mdr-7506s for years and they're still my go-to workhorse headphones anytime I need to travel but I wanted something slightly better that I could keep at my desk. The 7510s are crisp, clear, and the extended frequency range compared to the 7506s is noticeable. That said, the response is flat, but for me that's a good thing. They're also very comfortable for extended wearing. I'd recommend the 7510s and 7506s equally, it really depends on what your use case is.

A wonder for my ears!
Crisp, clear sound for mixing audio. Comfortable for hours. Really excessive packaging by Sony, maybe that's why it costs so much.

Inferior Sound Quality
These were once wonderful headphones when they were made in Japan. No longer. Manufacturing in Thailand produces an inferior product. Speech is distorted at the high and low end. Dont waste your money.

ALMOST as good as my Sony 7506s.
As a sound designer and voice over actor, I have owned a pair of Sony MDR-7506 phones for many years. Theyre the industry standard and sound fantastic. I bought the MDR-7502 to listen to music in my kitchen and as a backup if I have a second talent in my studio. They are sonically very similar. Very flat overall response. Creak creak creak
After about three months they started to make an extremely annoying creaking noise. I guess its a known problem. Unfortunately trying to see if twisting them would fix the problem, the cheap plastic snapped and they are now in the landfill. Avoid this junk.

Great studio headphones!
I've been using them for a few years now and the quality is great; they still look like new and the sound detail is impressive, great linearity and sound details, they're perfect to check to check for any issues in the mix. I think I've done a great deal buying them and I'm sure these headphones will last many years to come. A+++

Sounds even better when corrected
Bought these cans some years ago, and while I've always enjoyed them even without any EQ, they're still better when equalized with software -- just look at the various frequency graphs available online and you'll see why -- build quality & better driver technology besides, they're still far from perfect. Best bang for the buck
I contacted a friend who plays professionally in a very well-known Country band. He's a keyboard player, like me, and he always wore headphones on stage during live performances. So I asked him which brand he liked best that wouldn't break the bank so to speak. He recommended this one. So I took his word and he was right! These are far and away the best phones I've ever owned. Crystal clear sound quality, great bass response, etc. They are a bit pricey, but I found a pair on-line for slightly less than $300. You won't be disappointed!

not a 7506 upgrade
was hoping for an upgrade from the 7506 lack of low end, brittle highs, odd folding, cable pinching, pads wearing out issues. what I ended up with was great bass response comfort. however the high end may not be brittle but it is extremely low. the mids are so bad I couldnt even hear a b3 pad in my mix that was clearly evident every where else? In short they remind me of beat headphones. the only thing I use them for is to check the low end in my mixes. for that they do well.

These are lovely and surprisingly accurate headphones for under $50. Those complaining about bass response should re-evaluate their purchase. Also, if you drive them properly (an amp more powerful than an iPhone) they do indeed have some great low-end detail. That said, they are not completely flat and have some colouring to them. They work great with multimedia or as utility cans, however, if you have a discerning ear, they may be annoying for listening to music because of how much they separate the mix of a song (again, they are STUDIO MONITORS).

Sony MDR-7510 Professional Studio Headphones
The fit and feel of these are excellent - better than the MDR7506's I currently use. I'm missing the high end and mid range freq's I enjoy from the 7506's though.

Awesome product
I use these to monitor voice recording. I can wear these headphones for hours with my glasses and not be uncomfortable. The long coil cord allows for short mobility without pulling on equipment. The sound is clear and crisp. I have listened to music with them and again pure sound enjoyment. Well worth stepping up to if you were looking at a less expensive set.

Own them almost for a decade so far
That's the old school quality, I've got a pair of 7520 back in 2008 or 2009, and since that time I used them almost every day for continuous hours in studio and occasionally on a location. Performs as advertised
I tested the Sony MDR-7520 against my previous Sony MDR-7509HD professional and there is a huge difference in the high and low-frequency range. The highs are crisper and the lows are not muddyor distorted, but very clean and clear. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Needed lighter headset
I wear a headset a lot, so I was looking for something lighter for times of frequent wear. I own several MDR-7506 units and consider them the best on the market, so I was already leaning toward the MDR-7502. It was at a good price so I ordered one. Short of any serious tests, the sound seems to be on a par with the MDR-7506. The 7502 is definitely louder. Great pair for field recordings.
My 3rd pair of those headphones. My ears fit in comfortably and padding isn't annoying or irritating. Like with all closed-back headphones you might want to take a break every now and then to let in some air. I'll probably get another one once those are done with their service

These are really great headphones, and I own (and have owned) lots, both cheaper and more expensive ones. Balanced, with great detail and clarity, tight but powerful bass that doesn't bleed the mids and a decent scene for a closed can. You can't ask for more. They sound beautiful. But the creaking is absurd.
The audio is fantastic! I do love listening to these. I am sibilant sensitive and these have fantastic clear highs. Bass is controlled, powerful, and honest. Midrange is full and does not get influenced by highs or lows... I reach for these more than my other headphones. That being said the creaking and squeaking that these headphones have, is maddening.
