Fantastic
Finally after all these months, my 70-200 Gm arrives and it was worth the wait! Build feels solid, for me personally size & weight isn't an issue. The image quality is awesome. Of all the images I took so far I upload one from a test shot in broad daylight at work LOL. Downloaded to cell phone and uploaded here. It is sharper then it appears. Bokeh is nice

I like it!
Take this from an amateur hobbyist: I've been shooting birds in my yard testing the lens for a week. have gotten some really sharp images at 200 from 40 feet. When cropped on the bird, some super sharp images of their feathers. Adding the new Sony 1.4 teleconverter, same result at maximum zoom. That converter adds hardly any weight or length, by the way.

Super lens. Images are razor sharp.
Switched from Canon to Sony last year. Just purchased 70-200 f/2.8, a fantastic lens that meets if not exceeds expectations. Much sharper than Canon 70-300 L lens. Shooting with AF with Sony A7R11 on a tripod, backyard bird images are razor sharp. Crisp, clear detail remains when I crop significantly using Lightroom. Impressive. Could not be happier.

Simply Awasome, super sharpness
I love this lens, i want the 2x teleconverter for more focal distance. This lens has an excellent quality, a very fast focus, an excellent stabilizer and excellent sharpness. The only cons is the weight, after 1 hour the arms begins to hurt haha, and its some big so its not easy to Carry on the Street, is very striking.

Absolutely Magnificent
This is a really magnificent lens. It's extremely sharp. Perfectly built and beautiful to the eye. It may be a little heavy but that doesn't bother me at all. I've used it mainly for portraits so far. It produces pretty nice bokeh and performs flawless in every moment. Here are a few shots made with the lens and the A7ii

A fabulous zoom
The Sony FE 70-200 2.8 GM was well worth the wait. The only negative is it's a bit heavy however yielding fabulous results and fast becoming one of my favorites. I'd recommend monopod or tripod vs handheld for extended shooting. IMO the Sony FE 70-200 2.8 GM OSS will be the benchmark other zooms will be compared to.

This is a Pro grade lens... very good quality and it's sharp
I have used this lens with the a7r, a7r2 and the a6300. It is excellent all the way thru the range. Every bit as good as my Canon 70-200 IS L II f/2.8. continuous AF in movie mode works well. I am totally happy except for the issue that Sony bodies have which restrict the PDAF on apertures smaller than f/8.

Incredible
Wow. It's amazing. Sharp and focuses fast. It is heavy, that's for sure. My purchase came with a clear/UV Hoya filter. It's terrible. Looks like there fine bubbles on one side of it. Probably the only disappointing thing about my purchase, which isn't even about the lens itself. If you can, buy it.

Quick and sharp
Very happy with this purchase. It stands up well against the Canon or Nikon competition and the added benefit of a little closer focusing range is nice. I dont use the custom buttons on the lens and the lens hood looks weird being white. But performance of the glass is tops

Razor Sharp :))))
Sony released only few lenses for Canada and according to Vistek Store i am the only who has this lens so far :p When i hold this lens i hugged it. Thanks Sony. After a few shots you realize what was missing in your kit. Bit heavy but only quality matters here. Thanks Sony.

Coming from the Canon 70-200 2.8II I was skeptical.
However, the lens won me over on my Sony A7RII. I read some of the reviews about sharpness and was concerned I would be disappointed - NOT AT ALL. It's sharp as a tack. Also, between the Eye-AF and the noticeably closer minimum focusing distance, it's a winner.

GREAT LENS for A7 shooters
After shooting with 2470GM and 85GM, my expectation for 70200GM was high. Yes, this lens delivers BEST of BEST image quality. I'm currently shoot with a7rII and a7s. Cropping photos from a7rII just getting better and better with GM lenses. Great job Sony :)

Sharpness & OSS !
This is top line 70-200 F2.8 among all big name brands. I was deciding between F4 & F2.8. F4 is lighter. For low light performance and compatibility with 1.4 tele converter, it is wise to get F2.8. DXOMark gives the definitive answer!

Perfect Lense
I previously purchase the Sony FE 70-200 mm F4 and was told by another photography buddy, that I should have bought the Sony FE 700 mm F2.8 GM instead. I returned the F4 and pony up to the F2.8. My first shoot I didn't regret it.

Amazing!
Just spent the first weekend recording a scooter event with this lens. Very impressed with the auto focus while zoomed in & recording quick moving objects. A bit pricey, but am happy with the purchase so far. Well done, Sony!

Love it, Images are clear and sharp. Nice to set the side buttons on the lens to control Eye Auto Focus. The lens hood even comes with a slide to be able to get to your polarizer filter, this is very nice.

My secret weapon.
This photo uploaded was shot hand held with this lens. About 6ft from the model. Natural light. ISO 125 zoom at 131mm, f2.8, 1/200sec. Eye AF used. I this closeup was taken from the portrait.

Sony 70-200 f2.8
Everything you would expect. Big, fairly heavy - sharp and contrasty at all apertures. Fairly quick AF. The best choice if you need a large, fixed aperture and are willing to pay the price!

I would buy this product again
I am a portrait photographer. I just got my new sony lens and love it. I am going to sell my canon lens today. I was hoping the lens was a little smaller and lighter but its a great lens.

Important addition
Tried using my comparable Nikon lens with vello adapter. Very limited. This new lens is outstanding. Better than I expected. Quality, rapid response - very accurate. Good decision.

Fabulous Lens
Minimal use as just obtained 1 week ago. A few test images suggests to be extremely well corrected and very very sharp on my Sony A7RII. Have not used with the extender however.

Amazing sharp lens
This lens is perfect for the A7R3 and A9 cameras. No need to buy this unless you went for these cameras. It is sharp, fast, great IS, and matches the 42MP of A7R3 perfectly.
