Good lens, very versatile, focus ring could've been faster.
Definitely a good lens, but I have to shoot some more with it to see if it really shines or not, and in which situations. I've taken some great pictures with it, and some not so great, but that may also be because I upgraded my camera and still have to see what works best. Can't beat the versatility of this lens though, especially for the price! Personally, I would have like to see the manual focus ring a little quicker but maybe that is the interplay between motor and manual drive.

Sharp but horrible autofocus
After using this lens on my a6300 for a couple of months I have decided that it has the worst autofocus I have ever used (and I go back to the original Nikon N8008). It gets easily confused and has a hard time focusing. The result is numerous out of focus frames. It is not a problem with the Sony 35mm 1.8 or the 16mm 2.8 so it is not the camera. On a more or less positive note the build is fairly decent and the lens is sharp. Two stars instead of one for it being fairly well -made.

Sharp and a great general purpose lens
I've shot a couple events and one trip, and this is a great lens. Its very sharp, versatile and bright. Yes, its large vs. other eMount lenses but its such a great lens, you'll get over its size quickly. Its my new 'photo travel' lens (I'll keep my 16-50 lens for when i need a really small size camera). My only wish is that it wouldn't return to 18mm everytime its switched off (minus 1 star for this - hopefully Sony will change that with a firmware update - hear that Sony?).

Lens of a Lifetime!
The E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens works perfectly with my Sony A6000. I spent a day reading about and watching video reviews. This day of studying paid off! Clicked this lens on to my A6000 body and now... my photography life has heightened. I may occassionally still use my original Sony 35mm (which I purchased for portrait use) but this 18-105mm excels in some ways for portrait use too! The 18-105mm is superb for video use, too, according to my research. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very useful zoom range..
Great for well-lit environments and has a very smooth zoom ring if you want to bypass the PZ button. I enjoyed using it for a few weeks, however, recently I noticed that the focus ring has become jerky/irregular. Now, granted, I don't use manual focus on this lens very much I still want to ensure this isn't some sort of defect. The good folks at BH will assist with a swap if its needed. They never disappoint. Overall, I'm quite happy with this versatile piece of glass.

Sharp and light.
I am a more casual photographer/enthusiast and recently switched to the Sony a6000 for a lighter body while traveling. The quality of the this lens has surprised me, it is producing very good photos that are nice and sharp. It does have the distortion if you view the straight raw files, but that is easily corrected for in camera or with Lightroom. The build is also very nice, and yet light, I think I like it more that the similar Canon L series lenses I have used.

MY NEW STANDARD LENS!
When I needed a lens to go with me when I travel light, it seemed the PZ 18-105 would be a perfect focal range...I was right. This thing hardly ever comes off the camera and the results are breathtaking. One of my passions is photographing animals in motion, especially butterflies. The PZ 18-105 handles quick and focuses fast, so I can track the butterfly from blossom to blossom. I am an old school photographer and only wish this lens was around 40 years ago.

This lens has blown my mind. The sharpness of it when used right it absolutely amazing! Great color. And awesome for videos as well. Many say its just a video lens but NO its not its BOTH this lens very rarely ever leaves my a6300. Very happy with this lens and have no regrets!! Feel very confident when purchasing this 18-105 Sony G lens thats native to your Sony and is a monster with the auto focus. Dont hesitate just buy it if your reading this.

A MUST have for its versatility and function!
I haven't really compared the quality of the glass to say my canon lenses. But this provides a nice focal range and I love have a powered zoom control. I shoot more video and the zoom control is a must have. I also love the fact that all the movements are internal so you don't get a lot of weight variations which comes in handy when the lens and camera is mounted on a gimbal. This is a must have in your bag for your Sony APS-C cameras.

Sony 18-105 f4 G Master Lens
Sony 18-105 f4 G Master Lens Using the A6000 I based my purchase from the YouTube posts one JaySonyAlphaLab posted 6-29-14 I shoot Artist Openings at Gallerys in and around New York City. Wanted something Better than the kit lens , the price tag along with using the Godox mini flash 350 , with all its warts ,nothing perfect watch Jays clip I use Aperture Priority and shoot at f8 . for sharpest photos. So far so good to soon to tell.

Bulky but works a treat
Very fast autofocus on my a6000 and colors are nice. The image stabilization is well behaved but the zooming with fly by wire is a bit slow to respond and feels unnatural. The zoom and the focus rings are buttery smooth however my copy makes a whirring noise while manually focusing. The lens has significant distortion but is corrected in my a6000 automatically but sometimes it still shows up with straight objects close to the edges.

Incredible lens
Hands down one of the most beautiful hand crafted peice of glass that I've owned. When people see this lens they always compliment on how well made and gorgeous is it. The picture quality is superb. The lens shoots sharp from 18-105 very sharp, crisp and very little to zero distortion. This lens is very nice when shooting video - fast auto focus no noise smooth feel when using Manuel focus. Highly recommend this for video

Internal dust
I love this lens and have used it a lot, but unfortunately some dust/debris has found its way into the internal lens elements, making noticeable black dots on the images. I now have to pay to get it professionally cleaned. However, I do understand that this is a prosumer lens and thus its not sealed as well as a $+ lens. Overall great quality glass, awesome for video shooters, just not as tightly sealed as I had hoped.

Similar performance to Sony 28-135mm servo zoom
I bought for my second camera to have a similar range as my 28-135mm power zoom for 2 camera video shoots but did not expect the performance to be anywhere close to the 28-135mm, but in some ways it's even better. The zoom ring is more responsive for snap zooms and I love how lightweight it is. I don't use auto focus but I tested it and it is very fast on my a6000. Highly recommended if you need a servo zoom for APS-C.

Very smooth, super crisp, great range
I just recently made the switch from Canon to Sony and this Sony lens, so I'm still getting used to things, but so far I am very impressed with this lens. As I said in the headline, it is very smooth and very crisp; the images are far better and sharper than I was getting from the Canon 24-105 L. The range from 18-105 makes it a great general-use lens, good for everything from architecture to landscape to portraiture.

Awesome value
I have purchased this lens to use it for video with my A7s camera. I only had the 16-35 f/4 and I was longing for a zoom. Though this lens is not a full frame lens in crop mode it works perfectly and the zoom gets even further. I love the electronic zoom funcion, it works really well. I can switch my camera to auto focus and I can just control the zoom just like on a normal video camera. The picture quality is great.

A beautiful lens
I am loving this lens . It is a very well made lens. Im using it with my Sony A6300 and its a perfect combo. The pictures are tack sharp. I have the 50mm 1.8 and the kit lens 16-55, but I think this will be on my camera 90% of the time. Focusing is smooth and quiet. Some have said its too heavy, but I don't find that to be the case. Just a great all around lens , and at f4 you still can get a little bokeh.

My go-to lens
This lens is great on my a6300 and it's on my camera almost all the time. I shoot a lot of video with it on a gimbal that the autofocus is great! The zoom and focus by wire took a great deal of getting used to and I'm still not a huge fan of that part of it but the image quality is great. I shoot RAW and the distortion at the far it pretty bad but easily corrected in LR. Overall, great lens

Ideal Travel Lens
This is an ideal travel lens. The range of 18-105mm allows for quick composition. I travelled through S.E. Asia with my a6000 and the two kit lenses: 18-50mm and 55-210mm, and while both are very good, I found myself having to interchange them more often than I would like. Now with this lens, I believe I have the ideal kit, along with the superb Sigma f1.4 16mm. All my bases are covered.

Nice Video Lens for crop sensor camera
I bought this mainly for video on an a5100 and an a6000. The focal range is great for video. The stabilization is great for this too! For stills, the images are sharp but it obviously isn't the best for low-light. While researching this lens many reviews mention distortion, but I didn't notice it to be as bad as often stated. This lens works great for what I wanted to use it for.

Pretty close to perfect
This lens is insanely good on the Sony A7S 2. Sharp all the time. Auto focus works perfectly outdoors with good light. Haven't done much indoors with it, but one indoor shot had questionable focus. I can't believe the bad rap this lens has. I'm comparing it to my Canon L series lenses. The only problem I have is that I dont think it is possible to adjust the max zoom speed.

Awesome range
I own a Sony a6000 and although this lens is bigger than the body, it is super comfortable and compact for a zoom with this range. Since I have an apsc then it's more like a 27-157. Perfect for my needs and I see it staying on my camera 75-80% of the time. At a constant f4 it's pretty constant. We would all love 1.8 but that means more $$$$. Absolutely love this thing!

This lens is excellent. If you are looking for a SHARP lens, beautiful image quality and breath taking video. This G series lens is the best lens out there hands down. Sony did such a fantastic job on the craftsmanship on this product every detail has been refined and polished it's really a beautiful peice of glass. Highly recommend this to ALL Sony e-mount users

Don't hesitate to buy this lens.
I held off on buying this lens because of a few reviews. I wish I had started with this one. It's not huge, the focus and zoom rings work flawlessly. Everything is in a very user friendly place that makes using manual focus and focus peaking a great experience. Images are sharp and colors are good. If anyone asks me this is a must have for the a6000 / 6300 body.
