Whisker Sharp

Excellent lens for a decent price
This lens balances well on my Nex-6 and the sharpness is excellent for the price. The lens is light and appears well made. It is definitely not for birders or extreme action photos, but for the enthusiast with average needs, it fills the need nicely. If you have a Nex5r or Nex6, be sure to update the lens' firmware for faster focusing.

Zoom lens by Sony for Nex5N
The lens are very light which is a real advantage to add on a light camera like the Sony Nex5N.the quality of the pictures is very fine. I am happy with the results. For the price this is a great choice. If you want to avoid the negative thing, which is changing lens, then you should buy the whole range, which is three times the price of this additional one. But be aware that the whole set will be more heavy at the end.

Great Lens at a great price
I needed a longer lens to go with my kit 18-55mm for my Sony NEX 7 body. This lens filled the bill perfectly for me. It gives me a pretty full range from 18mm (28mm equiv) all the way up to 210mm (315mm equiv) Thanks B&H!

Better autofocus
This replaced my Sony Alpha lens with an adapter that was nearly impossible to use because autofocus too slow. Now the autofocus is much better and the stabiliser is great Wish it was a 35-210

Ideal lens for the camera
This is a great lens for everything from portraits to wildlife photography. Excellent companion for 18-55 Kit lens
5 Start if it were a bit faster. Otherwise, this lens produces outstanding images, and, for me, is a perfect mate to the 18-55 kit lens that came with my NEX-5N. Love it.

Purchased because of size
Because of back/neck issues, I bought the Sony NEX 5 N. The telephoto lens fit the bill in terms of weight. I'm a newbie at this so I can't compare with other lens in this category but the few shots that I've taken so far have come out crisp and clear.

Fills The Need For Those Long Shots
The size and weight are right for a mirrorless camera zoom. I use primes for my shorter focal lengths. Because there are no native 100mm to 200mm e-mount primes this slim zoom fills the need wonderfully. Quality construction and great IQ for the price. The speed is not designed for indoor use but my need is for outdoors so I'm a happy camper. Slight dust evident in inside barrel of lens but this issue is with any zoom.

Perfect for the NEX-7
I bought a Sony NEX-7 because I wanted a small camera to keep with me for situations where the 5DII package was too cumbersome. I got the 18-55 kit lens with the camera and then ordered the 55-210. Happy with my purchase
I am a hobby photographer. Lets be honest. The NEX 5n is about as perfect a camera for the hobby photographer as one can puchase....BUT, it is not a pro camera. This lens is perfect for the camera and its intended purpose. I am happier with it than I was with the NEX adapter and a Sony A-mount lens(75mm-300mm). Surprised how sharp it is
I was quite surprised how sharp this little lens is. After testing it, I haven't found any issues. It's so light that it's almost like having the 18-55 kit lens mounted. The OSS works very well which makes max zoom shots easy and sharp. It works very well as the second lens in a very lightweight travel camera kit (along with my NEX-5N and the kit lens). A very capable travel camera kit, too.

excellent value
Excellent build quality. Photos best at f/9 through 13 (this is smaller than, for instance, my Canon L lenses, where f/7.1 to 8 is already super-sharp across lens). Bought to use on 5N casually when taking hikes rather than carry heavier Canon 5Dii. Been very happy with images.

Powerful but slow
I guess you get what you pay for. The 18 - 200 I am assuming is better at more than twice the price. This lense is slow in two ways. The apperture, which is advertised right on the box. I knew that would be slow. But my main complaint is the speed in which it focuses at full zoom. While photographing my son's flag football games, I ended up with lots of blury shots because it was taking so long to focus. I don't think mannually focusing is an option on a bright day since the camera has no viewfinder.

Compact and lightweight
Lightweight and compact. Good zoom range, but would have accepted a heavier, physically larger lens for more speed. So far, very satisfied with image quality.

Great lens for the money
I chose this lens for the cost, size, and weight. It is also an excellent compliment to the 18-55mm lens that came with my NEX-5n. I've taken portraits at the 55mm range as well as zoom's at the 210mm range and both with excellent results. The autofocus is quick and almost flawless. I had the searching issue once or twice while it tried to focus on a low light subject. This was easily remedied by stopping the focus and re-focusing the subject. Not much of an inconvenience, but worth metioning. Overall, I'm very pleased with this lens!

I would recommend B&H to all
The lens i ordered for my Sony Nex-5 works great. I use this lens for taking shots the normal lens just cant pick up. No problems to report at this time as since its a Sony product, i know that it will last a long time. B&H delivered this lens quickly and considering im in Afghanistan, it arrived sooner then expected.

So simple I can use it.
I purchased the Sony NEX 5 a few months ago along with an adaptor for use with my regular SLR lenses and was frustrated at the slow speed. After researching I purchased Sony lens and it is as simple as twist and shoot. As a novice photographer I am always amazed at the compliments I get. Well they have gone up ten fold with this new lens.
