My most used lens
I did not know this would become my most used lens on my Sony a6000. It is great for walk around and using it on people is amazing. I do have the Sony 50mm and Sigma 19mm in my bag if needed. It's sharp fast steady light and small.

Great prime lens for general purpose
I love how light this lens is and if you're going with one prime lens, it's great for general purpose, street shots and portraits.

Great for Portrait via Crop Sensor
great 85mm equivalent for crop sensor (1.5x)factor, must have for portrait and or any other snaps for within the 75-85mm range.

Decent prime lense
I read many lens tests and review before settling on this as my starter lens. It seems to live up to the professional evaluations--it is fast and sharp. It does have a plasticky feel. Perhaps I notice this more because I started in phorography when everything was brass and glass. On the other hand, the lens is light, and the total package (a-6000 and lens) is very portable and easy to handle.

Best Alpha Lens for E mount Nex Types etc.!!!
I have been waiting for a normal lens with stabilization for my a6000 for quite some time. Until I could afford it really! Not that this is expensive! It's not cheap either but definitely affordable AND, it Does Not Disappoint!!! Excellent Image Quality from edge to edge including sharpness. This lens REALLY brings out the a6000's capabilities as far as the 24 mp's sensor is concerned! If you have the $$$, Do NOT deny yourself this one! It's quickly become my favorite lens in my bag!!!!

Great APS-C Prime Lens!
I purchased this lens a few months ago after much research and I am completely pleased. The lens is very sharp, renders good colors, and focuses quickly and accurately. The OSS really makes the cake. I can shoot in low light down to about 1/4 of a second without noticeable degradation if I am careful. Bokeh is smooth and pleasing. I looked at more expensive options and decided that the smooth quiet autofocus and OSS on this lens would outweigh an... Show More

sharp lens at a good price
Sharp and fast plus this lens has image stabilization: all-in-all a very good choice for a normal lens on a cropped sensor sony e-mount camera.

with the Sony 7R II mirrorless, i get excellent RAW and JPEGS that surpass my D800 with a 35mm lens.

Great product; arrived quickly
I never leave home without this lens. It takes gorgeous photos. The first trip we took with it was our honeymoon, and we're so glad we had it. We shopped around before purchasing; BandH offers competitive pricing and good service. Lens shipped quickly and was packaged nicely.

Great Lens for Many Situations
Bought this lens as the sole lens for my a6000 and it has held up wonderfully thus far. I bought at the urging of other reviewers who had good things to say about it and am not dissapointed. I am using the lens to take travel photography as I explore the country and have not had any issues so far. Got some great landscape photos, potraits and even some night photograohy of the stars in the Utah desert. Worth every penny.

Excellent lens
I purchased the Sony A6000 as a carry along supplement to my dslr. I then got the 35mm 1.8 lens as an upgraded all purpose lens, and I could not be more pleased. I love the size and feel, and the color and sharpness is excellent. The test for me was taking shots in a poor, low light situation; and I was very pleased with the results.

Outstanding All Around
Perfect normal' lens for the a6000. Sharp, crisp pictures with nice bokeh. OSS is great to have although the lens is very fast in any event. Really a joy to have on the camera.

Great lens, but a little bit expensive
great for portraits and outdoors. Nice bokeh, good construction, and light weight. Not so good on low light situations, but still good results along with my A6000. It is a little bit pricey, compared to the 50mm f/1.8 E and its better results on low light situations.

What A Great Lens!
I absolutely love this lens! It's sharp and fast. I've been impressed with the quality of photos the lens produces. But this past week, I had the opportunity to shoot a few videos for my wife's high school reunion committee. I was stunned at how nice the videos looked. I cannot recommend this lens enough.

Perfect everyday lens!
This lens is slightly larger than the kit lens (16-50 mm), making it inconspicuous and lightweight enough to always carry around. I bought it to take pictures of my baby and for traveling, and its perfect for that. It is fast and fast to focus, even in low light without a flash and with a moving baby as the subject! The lens takes great shots on auto or P, so anyone can take great photos with this lens. A friend without camera experience snapped some casual photos with this lens on my Sony a6000 and I've had people ask whether her shots were taken by a professional photographer!

Upgrade
I am not experienced neither very knowledgeable and rely on the camera to do its thing. With this lens, even though there is no zoom and, can be restrictive at time to take pictures, my shots have been improved towards professional quality. General portraits of people have been upgraded in color and skin tones, and generally sharper images have been taken of landscapes. I believe with some more reading of using the Sony A5100 mirror less I may be... Show More

Very impressive lens
The sharpness achieved with this lens is impressive and I am incredibly happy with it. I was torn between the Zeiss equivalent but did not want to sacrifice focusing speed which is the reason I chose to go with Sony and I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for sharpness, light weight and reasonably priced lens - you can't go wrong with this one.

Awesome lens for a6000
I bought the Sony a6000 with the kit lens and this was the first lens I purchased. It's a lot sharper than the kit lens and the max aperture of f/1.8 makes a huge difference in low light shots. Cons: vignetting when shot wide open at f/1.8 and the focus ring needs to turn far too much to go from close focus to infinity. Granted this is not a lens that has manual focus in mind. Overall great lens.

I'm a happy photographer now.
I was looking for a walk around lens for my Alpha 6000 and, although there are some less expensive normal prime lenses out there, I chose the Sony 35mm f/1.8 OSS. Build, fit and finish are beautify. But most importantly, the photos are superb. I wanted to discipline myself and not use a zoom lens since I felt myself getting lazy. I made a good decision.

35mm f/1.8 OSS Alpha E-mount Prime Lens
I was somewhat disappointed. I expect a 'prime' lens to be outstanding if I am going to give up the flexibility of a zoom lens, but it was not as sharp or contrasty on my Sony a6000 as the 24-85mm kit zoom on my Nikon D600 particularly on the edges. I returned it for the Sony Vario-Tessar 24-70mm. More $s to be sure, but I will have the framing flexibility and maybe the same sharpness.

Sharp!
This is the lens that stays on my A6000. It is fast and can be incredibly sharp. I also like the boost in effective ISO from OSS (optical steady shot).

Excellent fast lenss
Got this lens to complement the other lenses I purchased (16mm, 20 mm)to use with my sony A6000. The aperature of 1.8 allowed me to take night videos of Christmas fountain displays with great clarity and proper shutter speed to capture moving water.
