Best Hybrid Camera Ever
For the price there is no better hybrid camera out there right now. Sony hit it out the park with this one. It's not perfect, but it's close enough for 2018.

Huge leap over A7 mk1
Having used the original A7 since 2014, that camera is second nature to me. But the mk3 blows me away, the improvements are nothing short of phenomenal. 1) The low-light capability would've saved my behind many times. 2) The auto-focus speed gets me the shot 99/100 times, even wide-open at F1.8 for both the FE 55, and FE 85 lenses. 3) The battery life is forgettable, i.e. I now don't ever think about checking the battery during a shoot. 4) The im... Best Camera Out Right Now!
I have owned the Sony a9 and currently also have an a7rIII. The a7III is amazing. I would prefer to own two Sony a7III cameras vs one Sony a9. The only feature I miss from the a9 is the zero blackout while shooting high speed. The Sony a7III is also a better buy than the a7rIII in my opinion. If you want a larger image you will need the a7rIII and you will love it, but for the price, the a7III is where it's at right now.

Hands down best for weddings and more!
I purchased two for my wedding business. Any past issues with mirrorless are GONE Bc this is a masterpiece. Battery life is excellent, autofocus is best Ive ever used, image quality is incredible for 24mp, build quality is pretty good, menus are not as bad as most say, overall functionality during weddings is excellent! Glass selection is phenomenal for my line of work. Sony 28 f/2, Zeiss 55 f/1.8(a must), Zeiss batis 85 f/1.8...all are pe... Show More

great camera with serious flaws
I won't repeat what has already been said about the great image quality and low light capability. I only want to mention some flaws that may be critical to some people and that other reviews didn't mention. First, the Eye-AF. It doesn't really work well with fast lenses and shallow DOF. If a person has recessed eyes (most caucasian people), the AF would focus on a brow or nose, but not the eyeball. Second, AF tracking with shallow DOF. It happe... Show More

Great camera
Great camera except that the build quality, as in the outer hard plastic material, could have been a better grade. It feels like a cheap material. But that's what you get for the price and incredible pro's that come with it.

It has been two weeks
A little bit of a background first. I am an amateur photographer who does no video and has owned a FF Canon DSLR for the past 10 years and was looking for a replacement body. Before the purchase of the Sony A73, my stable of lenses included: Canon 70-200 f/2.8L non-IS Canon 50mm f/1.4 Canon 24-105mm f/4.0 IS Canon Macro 100mm f/2.8 II IS Canon 17-40mm f/4.0L USM I started by looking at the Canon DSLR's (FF) and then I heard about the release of ... A full frame for only $2k.
Really like the smaller size, the very low noise in the pics, the many custom buttons, the wonderful EVF (would never go back to an optical VF), the full frame sensor, and being an E-Mount the smaller lenses I can use. The only negatives is that it does not have built in GPS receiver which my 4 year old Sony had and no external battery charger. You have to buy one, but several on market a lot cheaper than the Sony unit. The pros definitely outshine the 2 small negatives.

Great camera
Bought the sony a7iii with the 24-105mm f4. I was a week in Hawaii and this camera/lens delivered! Great images! Great in low light situations, great for portraiture, and great over all camera to walk around with. It is heavier and bulkier than the sony a7ii, especially with the 24-105mm lens... kinda heavy but so much better than any DSLR

Compatibility Issues And Impossible Sony Customer Support
I am having a love/hate relationship with this camera. I have been a Canon shooter since the film days. This is my first Sony digital camera. I am having difficulty connecting the camera to 3rd party devices and trying to actually ask Sony Customer Support a question seems impossible to accomplish. My first issue was connecting the Vello ShutterBoss II to the camera. The B&H site shows it in the accessory popup. I have used this remote with my C... Show More

Amazing Camera! Great Ordering Experience!
I am thrilled with the Sony A7iii. I've had it less than two weeks, but I am very impressed with the camera matched up with the Sony 24-105mm lens. I've always had a crop sensor camera so this is my first full frame camera and I've glad that I made the jump. I absolutely love the new Z battery as well. I was able to get just over 1,000 pictures on my first charge of the battery! That is a lot better than the advertised 710 pictures. That was my b... Show More

good bye Canon
I have been a Canon shooter since 1973 to December 2018. Getting older and wanted a full frame mirrorless from Canon for many years. Got tired of waiting and at the end of last year I traded it in to B&H and both my first non- canon product, a Sony a9 and three G master lenses. Happy and no complaints. What a great system.

This camera is awesome. 693 detection is incredible, built well feels great in your hand. I was excited to pre-order this and got it before release date from B&H photo. B&H Photo is always been an awesome company to get your stuff from always reliable with great customer service. I look forward to shooting with this camera this weekend with a variety of Sony Auto lenses. I don't think you can go wrong with this camera it's a great beginning and professional camera the same time it does take a little bit time to figure out all the menus but that's life. One of the best cameras this year out

So far I am more than impressed
I made the switch from canon to Sony. I had the Canon 70d which I loved. Sold it to get the A7III and the 24-70 2.8 Gmaster. The eye autofocus is simple mind blowing. I recently shot prom photos and the hit rate was fanominal. So far it has done great on landscapes as well. I dont regret getting this one bit. I highly recommend it.

Great camera outstanding image quality. Learning curve a little high coming from a Canon but worth it. Unfortunately I have to return it for replacement due to malfunctioning LCD monitor.

Impressive!
I have had my a7III for just over a week. The files are very good. I bought this camera with the Sony 28-70kit lens, which I find very good. I also purchased the Sigma MC 11 adapter, and it works very well with my Canon 17-40, 85 1.8, 24-105. and both of my Tamron 2.8 zooms, 24-70, and 70-200. I have only tested the normal zone focus using back button to lock in focus. I found the focus quite fast and on par with my kit Sony lens. I kind of think... Show More

I love this Sony A7iii camera!
I'm a camera enthusiast, and I'm thrilled with this camera. Taking soccer photos was a breeze with the fast focus on this camera. It's lighter than my Nikon D750, and for the first time I have a new camera that rivals my Nikon for serious shooting. Yes, it would have been nice to have a charger, but I purchased one, and I'm not looking back. My Menu is definitely helping me find my favorite settings fast, and my experience with prior Sony cameras helps me too. I don't think you'll regret getting this camera - if you can find it. I pre-ordered this one, and I'm so glad.

Can't beat it for the price
This camera is insane and all of the 1 star reviews are ridiculous. Just buy your own off brand charger for 20 bucks and charge two batteries at once, not a big deal at all. You can NOT beat this price at all and it's absolutely the best hybrid camera around.

Great Camera
I feel the urge to write this review because of so many 1 star reviews are simply noise. The very fact that all the one star reviews complaining about a missing charger shows just how good this camera is. BTW you can buy ~10 bucks a dual battery charger at popular e-commerce sites. Camera wise, the only complain I have is it does not support dual SDXC II cards. If I am using two cards and duplicate RAW, I will have very little advantage using SDXC II if I'm shooting pictures. Focus is good, EyeAF is super, IQ is great too.

Ignore Silly "No Battery Charger" Reviews
Seriously, You'll give a camera a one star review because it doesn't have an external battery charger? Big deal, buy one. I go out with two charged batteries and after shooting for many hours haven't touched the second one yet. When I get home I charge the one I used. This is an outstanding hybrid camera that excels at both video and stills for $2K. You can't find a camera at this price point or even higher that comes close. It's not perfect, but... Show More

Unacceptable Quality
Yes, amazing prise, great autofocus e.t.c e.t.c. But Sony is back with it's old tricks from the A7 and A7R. Those cameras did not have battery chargers either. I should have thought that Sony would learn from the negative feedback it got because the next generation (A7II and A7RII) had chargers. Now back to the old tricks! $90 bucks is $90 bucks for the charger. Way to go SONY!! If that was not enough, the camera came home with all the dust of China on the sensor!!!! Quality control down the drain! Again, way to go SONY!!!
