What more can I say - it is a great camera for what it is. I shoot mostly video - I only use it for stills every now and then. Huge leap over A7 mk1
Having used the original A7 since 2014, that camera is second nature to me. I was initially super excited to finally make the switch. If you're reading this, you know why you're here. It really is that awesome. Low light is incredible, AF is really impressive, IQ is spot on, the battery life doesn't get talked about enough. My only cons are getting used to the ergos, and I think the weather sealing is lacking. Great Swiss army knife camera.
This is a first full-frame camera and I am loving it. This camera does everything well: Low light, stills, video, feature packed (except for software based intervalometer). Great camera
Love the clarity in the photos with this camera. Ive been using a Sony a6500 which I really like but I have to say switching to the larger format is great. Ive been using 100-400GM lens with the a6500 which gave it that extra reach being that it is the smaller formate but even with the actual lens strength you can crop in and get amazing results. The A7III filled two unique and specific needs I had at once. I spend most of my photography time capturing sports, but most of my photography income comes from shooting non-sporting live events like weddings and corporate gatherings. Excellent camera if you don't wear glasses
It's a great camera but sort of a downgrade from my A7. I can see more of the image in the A7 viewfinder than the A7 III viewfinder. All the settings are a bit overwellming. Studying the help book and U tube helps. Actually it takes great photos and movies with the factory settings out of the box. It is a good investment. I still can't believe this camera was under 2K! I've been putting this rig through it's paces and so far I'm thoroughly impressed! Switched from Nikon to Sony. I used to use a Nikon D850. I needed to lighten my load due to carpal tunnel on my right wrist. Bought this combined with the 55mm f/1.8 lens. Perfectly balanced. So excited to get my new camera and the lens, Sony FE 24-105 G OSS, arrived the next day. Thank you for getting back-ordered merchandise out so quickly. I have been a Nikon DSLR user for a decade. It's was a hard decision to sell all my nikon gears to go to sony. For me , Nikon is always performing and reliable. This is the fist camera body I've reviewed. I have owned Nikon & Canon cameras, then switched to SONY when we heard of the a7iii release. I have been thoroughly enjoying my Sony alpha a 7 iii since having received last week. My Canon L prime lens all shoot great with fast autofocus using the sigma MC-11, Sigma lens on Canon mount to Sony E mount adaptor. I upgraded from a Canon 7D to the Sony a7 III and I absolutely love it! It's a full frame, mirrorless camera in a small package at a great price! Sony finally figured out the skin tones. Autofocus is amazing, even on third party lenses. Center lock autofocus works best. The flash firing is consistent, unlike with my a7r2. Build and shutter feel sturdier. Auto iso works beautifully even above 26k, but in dark rooms I would keep it around 12,800.
