Amazing Camera!
Long time Sony fan - coming from a Sony Alpha a100, I heard lots of good things about this camera. I was a little put off by the looks of it (I know, of all things) because it kind of reminds me of one of those point and click cameras. However, this is anything but! The camera takes beautiful pictures even with the kit lens, and even better ones with the 55-210mm zoom. I love how light it is, and the 24megapixel sensor. For this price, I couldn't think of a better camera.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!
I'm a pro Canon shooter (13+ years), but I wanted something smaller and lighter. This is my fun rig, but I'm looking for pro applications too. Great portable camera!
I bought this camera because the significant other doesn't let me use the other cameras in the house. So far, the camera has been great at capturing my infants daily conquests. The camera has easy controls, portable and works fast at capturing images. The only cons to this camera would be the weight. Between carrying the diaper bag with the camera, carrying an infant and chasing a toddler, I wish this camera was lighter.

Worth every penny
I have owned both Canon and Nikon DSLR's, and this was to replace my point and shoot. I just wanted something small to carry around and take decent photos with. Well, WOW! This does more than take decent pictures. The quality is amazing, this camera would probably make me think replacing my DSLR if not for the limited zoom range in Emount lenses. I am getting amazing quality on handheld night shots at ISO3200! The menu system was quick to learn and this camera is so light you almost forget you have it with you. Makes me wish I had this camera earlier than when I finally bought it.

Fabulous Camera
I bought my a6000 when a very favorable short term sale popped up. I could not be more delighted with this powerful little camera. The image quality is excellent, the Sony Autofocus, Facial recognition and Focus tracking are game changers for me (a devoted Canon shooter) The B&H You Tube by Gary Fong is essential information to unlock the capabilities and has be very excited to do all I can to make use of the incredible capacity of the a6000. SONY A6000 is a very nice complement to my Nikon DSLR
Great lightweight camera that takes excellent photos. Battery life could be better, but all in all, esp. for the recent sale price, it's a great little portable camera.

Awesome deal, awesome camera
Did some research on mirrorless cameras. Decided to get the Sony Alpha a5100. When I came across the post-Christmas deal at B&H and was able to get the a6000 with two lenses and the free accessory kit for a little more than the a5100. I've taken about a dozen pictures. I am very happy with product and B&H. The only downsides: took a bit to get the WiFi up and running & free bag too small to fit all the items that came with the kit.

Great Image Quality In A Compact Size For An Excellent Price
The a6000 is a very versatile camera and it offers a lot of photographic opportunities for the money. I had purchased an NEX-3 five years ago, and the Sony mirrorless system has come a long way. The most important improvement for me has been the autofocus speed, which is approaching DSLR levels. Great value for the price
I wanted a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses and this is a nice little kit. 24MP is reasonable resolution and the 24-75mm (35mm equivalent) lens covers the vast majority of my everyday subjects, plus I bought an adapter for my old Canon FD lenses which opens up lots of additional possibilities. The camera functions beautifully. It's small and very responsive with lots of programmable features. It came with two batteries, a skylight filter, and a 32GB memory card (around 1200 photos at RAW setting), plus a neat little shoulder bag. Altogether a great value for a reasonable price!

Compact and high quality
My wife and I were shopping for a slr canon camera but after testing this Sony a6000 mirror less camera we knew we found what we wanted. This camera is fully automatic. You get what you see. No need to adjust the exposure or other settings. Sony's technology makes it very easy for beginners to use this camera and you get the same quality pictures as an slr camera in a smaller compact unit. Great buy for the money.

no level gauge
Definitely clearer and sharper and higher resolution than my NEX6, but there is no level gauge and when one is taking pictures of the ocean (particularly at night), a level gauge saves a lot of post processing. I will probably return this and wait until I can afford the a7 line.

No regrets!
The kit lenses are just so, so. So instead, I bought an FD to Sony adaptor so I can use my collection of legacy lenses. Love the focus peaking feature--makes manual focusing on FD lenses a breeze in stills and videos, Amazing fast burst speed--faster than my Canon 1D III!! Perfect Walkaround Camera
Great alternative for a heavy DSLR when I don't feel like lugging all the heavy gear out for trips. I still think there's a considerable difference on image quality, but that might be due to the kit lens.

Not quite ready for prime time
I returned this camera after five days of trial use - so my impressions are based on modest experience. However I am a semi-professional and have been shooting for many decades. I sought a camera for unintimidating street shooting, a light travel kit and a back up for a (Canon) DSLR setup. Very good cam for this price

An great little camera
I've had 3 mirrorless Sony cameras. I've enjoyed all of them, including the A6000. Some have complained about the 16-50 lens. Some like it. It's a tiny zoom lens so users shouldn't expect too much from it. I don't own that lens but I have a number of auto-focus lenses and older manual focus lenses that I use with inexpensive adaptors. I get excellent results with all of them, as good as I get from my Nikon DSLR. In fact, I rarely use my Nikon now days because the Sony is much lighter and just as as capable.

Perfect for travel!
I have found that this camera is perfect in every way, shape and form. I'm a retired teacher that is going to start traveling and needed a small camera other than a point and shoot. I love the grip and that it has a zoom lens. My hands tend to shake a little from old age, but this camera takes a perfect picture every time! It is also small enough to fit in my purse, so will be easy to take along on my trips. I'm so glad that I bought it and highly recommend it!!!
