Great lens
Nice little lite lens for walking around with to shoot everything with. Would not use for a shoot shoot or anything.. But use it for outdoors fun or vacations. You get nice crisp clean photos out of it!!

Great zoom lens depending on your needs!!!
Image is pretty good for most shots, with sharpness at the center but at the edges and corners it can be soft throughout the aperture and zoom range. I usually abuse bokeh, which I wish it was better, but for this type of lens, I dont think its the right purpose if thats your plan unlike a prime lens. I havent used this for video purposes but it definitely helps when Im in situations where I need to get close to a subject to get a picture but ca... Show More

As good as 16-50m kit lens
This lens has about the same IQ as 16-50mm kit lens. AF is ok under the ideal daylight but hunt indoor. I bought it during the sales and a good buy.

Great zoom lens for the price point
Here's the thing about this lens... if you're not a professional (or professional hobbyist), the G Master zooms are most likely out of your price point, and this is the one you're looking at. And for the price, it's actually pretty great. Does it work well indoors? No. But then why are you trying to use a zoom lens like this inside? Outside is a different matter. I've had no issues using it on hikes and backpacking trips. I actually prefer it ove... Show More

Good Budget Standard Zoom
On the Sony a6000 it has a zoom reach of 315mm. Sharpness improves with a tripod and lighting and was impressive in full sunlight using a circular polarizer. The lens has its place in my collection as a very portable zoom, in good light.

AF can be fuzzy
Shoots darker than other lenses and the light meter says. I bumped up the AE and it works better. The focus can be fuzzy

Wish I had bought higher mm.
This is barely longer than the standard one that comes with the camera. Next size up is over a thousand dollars. Surely there is something in a more medium price range!

Good lens to start.
Bought this with my Sony a6500 kit to have a longer focal length. Good price for a nice lens. Works great with my camera.

Fantastic Lens For The $$$
Start off by saying: I'm not by any stretch of the imagination, a professional photographer. I'm simply an enthusiast, and a major "gadget head". That being said,.. I've had this lens for over a year now, using with an A5100. I've got to the point where I use this lens almost exclusively with that camera, only using the kit lens when doing landscapes. Images are very clean and sharp at all focal ranges (to me). I'm sure there are professiona... Show More

Good value
This lens is a good travel lens. More specifically, it is an inexpensive compact lens that serves its purpose and at the same time damaging or losing it would not be painful financially. It clearly does not have the optical quality of more expensive fixed maximum aperture zoom lenses. Also, on an a6500 at the long end of the zoom range, the auto focus seems to struggle even with adequately illuminated subjects. I'm not sure if the lens or camera is at fault, but I have not had any issues with fixed aperture zoom lenses on this camera.

What a Pleasant Surprise
I got this lens as part of a kit with a Sony a6500 that also came with the 16-50 lens. I was a bit skeptical of buying the setup with this lens, because I am used to shooting with a Canon 5d miii and some nice L lenses and have gotten used to the sharpness on those L lenses. I took a chance, because buying a "better" lens for the sony meant it was going to make the setup bulkier and heavier, and my goal was to get a lighter weight camera/lens set... Show More

Outdoor travel companion without $$$ equal. No kidding.
Don't be fooled by pixel peepers, as opposed to photographers, and strange people who compare a $250 4.5-6.3 zoom lens to a Zeiss prime...lol.... If you own the A3000, 5000, or 6000 series cameras, this and the 18-55 or 16-50 kitwill give great results, once you learn to use something other than AUTO. Why spend A6300 type dollars and shoot AUTO...my good golly. And as for anyone using this on the A7 series, well, you're wasting money both ways. ... Show More

This lens is a must for a A6000
This lens is fantastic! I love the manual zoom versus the power zoom from the kit lens. It's not heavy like other telephoto lenses I've used. If your wanting to take your photography to the next level, please get this lens.

Not for me!
The only thing wrong with this zoom lens (for me) was that it was not the quality I am used to with my prime Zeiss lens. Also not liking the zoom factor. But I am sure it is fine for most people.

Good outdoor zoom
Light, small (for a zoom) and decent image quaility for outdoor shooting. This pairs well with the Sony a6X00 series cameras. It is not very good in low light as it is a bit slow, but for the price worth it.

Good image quality
Good lense for the money but after a year, I did not use it as much as I would like to. Now, I would get something wider than 55mm which is in APS-C about 70mm, too narrow. Image stabilisation works very well though.

Great upgrade
In my second year of learning photography, this is a great upgrade for the photos I take. I'm sure there's a learning curve to get the most out of these lenses but they're really easy to operate just as the kit lens. This is my first purchase at B&H, and I'm happy with the purchase experience. Detailed info of the product, easy checkout, shipping was quick and on-time.

I would probably buy a better lens next time.
Effective at all ranges, but doesn't seem too well made. Lots of plastic, and extension barrel seems a bit loose.

Stunning quality
The camera I use is the A6000 which is a great low budget mirrorless camera that has 24mp. I love this lens because it goes great with the A6000, not only that all of my images that were shot with this lens are absolutelysharp.

Solid Lens
I've been using this lens for a couple of months now and I've found it to be quite reliable as my go-to telephoto lens. I generally shoot in JPG so any lens distortion that may be present when shooting in RAW is next to non-existent for my copy. I don't notice any vignetting and very minimal chromatic aberration. My only qualm with this lens would have to be its tendency to hunt in low light situations, which could have probably been resolved wit... Show More
