Large capacity fits in the palm of your hand
I like the small size of the 2TB solid state drive. It fits in the palm of my hand. It was recognized by my Windows 8 Laptop and I started using it. No loading of additional software is required.

I like the size, but doesn't seem that fast
I purchased this because I thought it was going to be lighting fast. I was even hoping to shoot tethered 200mb raw photos directly to the drive instead of my internal hard drive. But I don't think this drive is any faster that my normal 8tb external Western Digital hard drive. Super fast and simple to use.
This thing is super fast 430-480mb/s which is almost 100mb/s faster than other solid state media. Its bus powered, easy to mount with third party accessories, and their cheap enough to have a bunch in hand. No reason to ever run out of recording space on a shoot. What used to take 10 or 12 cards on a typical shoot. You can now have 1 or two of these. Fantastic!

Using it with BDPCC4k
Using the hard drive as the memory for BDPCC4k. Camera has no problem with saving RAW and Pro Res from the camera. Works good as an editing drive too with your rushes and projects.

It is fast and has been reliable. I just bought an other one for my photo back up I have over 500 Vega bites of photos. So far so good.

works well with Mac OS
I have two of these working with Mac OS and move them between my desktop and laptop without a hitch. I like the small size. The speed is decent. They are also big enough to mark with a sticker or a permanent marker. The supplied cords (x2 of them) are about 1'. Keep that in mind if that's an issue. Otherwise, the cords are robust. Not cheap. At least I don't think they're cheap.

Great product
I ordered two of these. One would not format out of the box, but B&H was awesome (as always) and exchanged it for another without hassles. I use them as backups for a couple of laptops and they work great. As SSDs they can take a little more abuse than a regular drive which is helpful. Fast and easy to use. Highly recommend.

Fast, compact and great capacity
Everything is moving to SSD so to get with the times I replaced my MOVIES external drive with this. It is pricey for the space but much better than they were a while ago. I already have 4 other Samsung T5 drives that are the 500GB size. All have been super reliable too. In addition to other advantages, this drive stays relatively cool. Some regular HD's that remain on 24/7 can get very hot, which I'm sure contributes to their eventual failure.

Compact, fast, durable
Using this little guy for video. I can edit right off of it. Love that it doesn't need a separate power cord. Very happy with the investment!

Great for the size
Excellent product by Samsung and a real bargain for the money. The only thing I am missing is some protection on the casing itself. Also if you use BMPC4K would recommend buying a 2TB one, since it can record little more than an hour in full quality on this drive and that might not be enough.

Samsung SSD
So far, so good. I use it as an external drive for backup on a Windows 10 desktop. Biggest advantage is reliability - I am tired of old style spindle drives failing and the risk, time, effort, and cost of dealing with a failure. The other advantage is size and weight - easy to take offsite or travel with. To me the higher expense is well worth it.

Fast but disappointed
I bought the 2TB version after I bought the 500GB (blue) version of the Samsung SSD T5 SSD months ago. I use Resolve 16 studio and edit 4k DNX video from the hard drive. I bought the 2TB version and it is definitely slower than the 500GB version. I did a read and write test and it confirmed that the 2TB version of the T5 SSD is slower than the 500GB. Nice drive. Encryption NOT compatible with Mac OS!
After multiple phone calls with support, was told that encryption had to be removed from a non-mac PC in order to use the drive. Would not have bought if I'd been told of this. Mac users beware...

I screwed up
Was getting this to replace an older, slow Lexar that I use for my in home network (attached to router). After the purchase I learned that many routers don't support these newer SSD's and this is one of those. I found a use for it, but not the more productive use I envisioned. Great SSD, but make sure it's compatible for your intended use.

Great product!
Got this to use on video projects. I have been able to edit small 4K projects with no issues right off the drive. Zero complaints. Its small, lightweight and FAST! This is a great product, at a great price, delivered by a great company.

Small, quiet, works perfectly
I love this for backing up my photos, but because it's an SSD it's fast enough for me to actually work on photos that are on the drive. It's great not having to wait for a spinning drive to power up. It's very small and lightweight. I've been spoiled now, I don't want to use any other kind of drive. I would definitely recommend.

Don't Think About It Just Buy It
This day and age if you are not using SSD's for everyday data use/storage you are just wasting time. This drive is easy to carry around, extremely reliable, fast and comes in BLUE (my favorite color). Even if you think you don't want one buy one because you will use it.

A no brainer
These Samsung 500G T5's were great at $40 or whatever more they were years ago when first released, and at $90 it's the best under $100 widget you can buy. I have several, none ever hiccuped, fit in a pocket instead of a bag, fast enough to run audio sessions off of, etc, etc. Not the latest, faster SSDs inside, but shaving 10 seconds off copying 50 G isn't nearly enough to entice me to current generation. disappointing
Had to return, would not set up with the latest version of Mojave. I called Samsung and they set an email of the fix. It didn't work. I called in four separate times and each time I explained the problem Samsung gave me a different answer. Solution was to return and buy SanDisk. Glad that I did. SanDisk works great and a great case for protection.

Great Bang for the Buck
I can't say anything for longevity yet, as I've only had it for a couple weeks, but man is this drive fast... I copied almost a TB of data to it in about a half hour or so. I was able to set it up as a bootable AFPS drive, so I can run my music system off of any computer I attach it to. It is of course much faster via USB-C on a newer MacBook Pro laptop, but it runs pretty smooth via USB 3.0 on an older iMac and MacBook Air that I tested on. Hopefully it will last a long time and be a good investment. I'm very impressed so far...
