I am A Professional DJ in Fayetteville North Carolina. This has to be the most powerful single 18 inch subwoofer on earth. I compared this subwoofer with the KW 181 and I was Floored. I am not going to try to downgrade the KW 181 but this is an upgrade to a great product. I have always admired the performance of QSC products so I will just say that this is the best subwoofer I have ever invested in.

I've been DJing for 17 years, I've heard Vegas, EVs, JBLs, Yorkvilles, and many other pro audio subwoofers. These QSC KS118 have a very similar sound to the JBL 718 subwoofers, they go down to about 30hz and they hit you right in the chest and gut. One of the biggest differences is the distance that these bad boys are able to throw sound. My KW181s and JBLs would fall off about half court in a gymnasium, but from what I can tell these throw at least 50-100 yards and possibly further. Very clean and precise sound, tight punch and plays the extended low frequencies smoothly with no distortion. Last time I was this impressed with a subwoofer was when I heard the Yorkville LS 800p. I would say these are actually louder than the Yorkvilles and also go lower. If you're in the market for a new subwoofer, these are worth the money and will outperform anything in their price range. I am a Mobile DJ in Portland, OR and this is by far the sub I have ever owned. This sub hits Hard! I upgraded from the kw181 and I can tell you that this Was an upgrade. I have paired this with a set of K12's and the sound is amazing. It doesn't go as low as they say, but it does go a bit lower than the kw181. I just used this sub in a room for 200 people and it filled the room nicely. QSC has done it again with this amazing product.

This Sub is definitely an upgrade from the KW181. It sounds better, goes lower and hits harder. This is a sub you can really feel. I was very impressed of how much better this sub is. I have not yet peaked this sub. Perfect sub for a mobile DJ or Band. It is heavier than the kw181 but not by much. For sure I'm picking up a second one soon.

The KS118 is a great sub- when it's working. Lots of power and great sound. Had no problems after using it only a few times a month for a couple of months, and then without warning, sub stopped working mid show. Wasn't being pushed hard at all. Maybe running at the most at 12 o'clock. No limiter light ever came on, no warning messages, just flat out died. Not the usual QSC quality. I was surprised. I figured no problem with 6 year warranty. Took it in to a service center and now 6 months later, they tell me QSC has yet to ship them a replacement amp. Still waiting for it to get back into service. At least the warranty is going to fix it, but when is anyone's guess. QSC has new units available, but can't fix existing units- which is strange considering they use the same parts. So if you purchase one- make sure you have a backup sub as you maybe without one- for going on 6 months like mine. If yours works, you'll be very happy with the sub. Casters rattle a lot- way more that the KW181. ... More

The QSC KS118 Subwoofer is legitimately the best subwoofer you can buy as a mobile DJ, musician or club/venue. I bought my first 3 months ago and was testing it out in my backyard, I turned it up to 12 o'clock volume and my neighbor said it was vibrating his house afterwards. The amount of bass is insane and the sound quality/response is excellent. I decided as an early birthday present to buy a 2nd. Definitely worth every penny, don't hesitate just buy it!! I use these subs as a mobile DJ. I exchanged brand new RCF 18 inch subs in favor of these. They are slightly more compact and blow the RCF's away in power and SPL. I set them up stereo with K12.2's on poles. If used properly, there is no way to over drive these subs. QSC knocked it out of the park.

I am a working musician in a band. I replaced my KW181's with a pair of the KS118's. The first gig I used them everyone was telling me how good they sound and they could feel my Bass drum in their chest. They have a tight punchy bottom and plenty of head room with 3,600 watts per cabinet compared to the KW181 1,000 watts per cabinet. The only regret I have is I waited to long on purchasing these sub's!!!! Great job QSC in making a fantastic sub!!

We use this product for mobile DJ'ing. It's heavy but powerful!!! I have the gain at less than half way up and the deep bass option off and we're still cranking... Well done QSC!

First, I want to say that my local Guitar Center staff was fabulous in helping me with this issue. Full stop. My practicality brand new KS118 stopped outputting sound in the middle of a show. All lights and indicators were normal, the limiter light never flashed. We weren't even close to pushing it. Then suddenly, silence. The amplifier module just died. A quick search showed that i'm not the only one with this issue. QSC needs to fix this, yesterday. Until they do, If you buy a KS118, have a Plan B.

You can definitely feel and hear difference between the now discontinued KW181 and the new KS118. I purchased the KS212C over the KW181 about a year ago because the cardioid feature. Long story short, I just traded my KS212C for the KS118. Very impressive subwoofer!!!!!!.

This thing is a beast! Originally went in to purchase the JBL PRX818 and was unsold on this behemoth. You get more than double the Wattage for only $4-500 more than the JBL. Ian was super excited to assist and show me the differences between the two models and I was instantly blown away. Can't wait to use this at some parties!

I just used one of these bad boys at the high rise venue last night and it had the floor vibrating! It has plenty of power for most applications. Some say the casters rattle, but I did not notice it last nite. My only gripe about the sub has nothing to do with the sub itself... it's the cover QSC made for this speaker! The cut outs for the handles are not aligned right and it's too tight! I own several other QSC speaker covers and this model has the worst!
