Solid
I use this camera primarily on my Octocopter. The images that come out of this camera is so sharp and rich. The 4k is a great feature and I find that the usefulness of 4k is for re comping and scaling in post(down to 1080) which is a great thing to have. The built in audio levels are nice as are the focus assist and zebras. Great camera.

WOW
I am a professional photographer who was frustrated with the inability for DSLRs to properly focus for video. I have been following the micro 4/3 cameras for a while but I did not make the plunge. I have been waiting for Nikon to come out with a quality video camera. I gave in and purchased the GH4 because the GH3 already did great video and the GH4 is better by all reviews I have read. All I can say is WOW. I am very impressed with the capabilit... Show More

Amazing Camera!
Amazing camera. I bought it as an upgrade because I had mainly been shooting my video on a T3i. I can finally step up my production to a new level. I also enjoy taking pictures with it. UI could be organized better especially because of all the features offered on the camera. I am still confused on how to turn off the automatic exposure compensation while in live view as well.

Very impressive
I am primarily a pro filmmaker but also enjoy taking stills. I initially purchased the GH4 to take 4K video on the fly, and as a 3rd angle for shoots where the down sampled 4K to 1080 easily matched up with my Canon C300 and C100 cameras. I then started taking stills, and adding a Panasonic 12-35 and 35-100 Lumix X lenses, I have been blown away. This camera is really only good up to ISO 1600 in video, maybe 3200 in stills but 1600 is safer. I al... Show More

Solid Construction, Fantastic All Around
I love using this camera while traveling. The photos are fantastic, and its size is small enough that it does not attract much attention filming video as other video cameras would. The 4k is unreal. The only negative thing about it was that I had to wait 3 months because it quickly sold out upon the initial release.!

Best Still Video Combo
I do Photo and Video production, Panasonic GH4 is ideal for both. 4K video, incredible rapid burst shutter, interface and controls. All good, no bad. For me a wonderful tool.

Nicest camera I've ever owned - pretty easy to get used to. Get images! Only had it a week, but very busy!

Absolutely Amazing - a game changer
Wow. For the money, right now (June 2014) this is the best you can buy. I use it for video, but the stills are brilliant too. 4K footage using the Cinelike D profile with the Contrast and Sharpness wound down to -5 is fantastic. Make sure you get the right SDXC cards, especially if you shoot 200MB ALL-INTRA. The one issue I had - shooting on tripod with the 12-35mm f2.8: I left OIS on: result was shaky footage. Upgraded the lens firmware to V1.2. Problem solved.

AWESOME! Worthy successor to the GH3!
Appart from a few minor issues carried over from the GH3, namely the bad placement of the Playback button (out of reach for single hand access) and Headphone Jack (in the way of tilting LCD screen), the GH4 improves on practically every front! This is hands down the best Photo camera for video IMHO! I bought the GH3 because the sales rep told me it's the only photo camera he'd consider for video, and the one he himself uses. I can now say the sam... Show More

AMAZING camera. Well done, Panasonic.
I use DSLR's primarily for video with some photography thrown in there as my side business. I've been wanting to buy a BlackMagic camera to get 4K capabilities, but they are not practical for someone who needs a stills camera as well. The GH4 is the best of both worlds. Great stills, and even better video. It's 4K and high framerate capabilities are unheard of in it's price range. The GH4 allows you to get an incredibly cinematic image also, perfect for videographers. I highly recommend this camera to anyone who does exclusively video or video and still imaging.

Outstanding Hybrid Camera
I am so far completely satisfied with the GH4. I use the camera for nature/fine art stills and accompanying video for a number of projects. This is the first hybrid camera I have used that delivers very high quality with a fairly user friendly work flow. Stills are razor sharp if you're using half way decent glass, capture color accurately, and allow you to print large. The video of course is the headline story, and 4K is indeed wonderful for cap... Expensive For Me Now, But WORTH IT!!!
Since I'm retired (with a small income) and I no longer make money using my photo/video gear, the purchase of the Panasonic GH4 was more than a bit of a stretch for me - but I'm happy I bought it! I'm still an avid photographer and videographer, and I began to buy into the MFT format about a year and a half ago, mostly for weight/size/price reasons - but this gear is so much fun to use (and GOOD!) that I've shot about 40,000 still frames and some... A real game changer!
I use the camera primarily for video. Before the purchase I looked at the 4K ability as a bonus but planned on using the higher bit rate 1080p settings. Now... 75% of what I shoot is in 4K. It is beautiful. Panasonic has really raised the bar.

Wow!
I get long winded, as there are enough reviews about this camera, but Wow! sums up the capability and performance of this camera. For a video camera, you'd be hard pressed to do better. For a stills camera, the GH4 is quite capable, but I use other cameras for stills generally. But the 4k is where it's at and the GH4 is amazing. It requires a kit and some cash to get it working great, but every video camera needs that. I'd highly recommend it for videographers and film makers, but alas, I preach to the choir I'm sure. Buy the thing!

Best camera I've ever owned
I own a GH2, an AF100, and the 2.5k BMCC. This is by far my favorite video camera. The cine-v mode in particular gives you a nice, flat image, but is actually very nice on it's own. Panasonic listened to all the suggestions people have made over the years, and I think this is close to the perfect hybrid stills/video camera. Let me put it this way - I put my BMCC into storage. The GH4 is so much easier to use and has a wonderful picture. In short, it's awesome!

AWESOME ADDITION
Right out of the box I was able to get some great shots off. We own the Panasonic AF-100 and have been very happy with it; but as documentary filmmakers, we needed something a bit more stealthy to blend in with the crowd. I'm still in the learning curve on this one, but so far I've experienced excellent video in 4k and HD and awesome photos as well. If there's one drawback, (the reason for only 4 stars) it's the software necessary to get your foo... Show More

surpassed my expectations
I bought this camera for many reasons, 4K being toward the bottom of the list. What sold me was the 96 fps slow motion, the 10-bit 4:2:2 hdmi output, focus peaking/zebras, and the much higher bitrates. However, I had the chance last night to use it in a very low light concert. I can't even beging to describe how detailed the 4k image is in low light (iso800). The noise has an extremely fine grain and the Cinema D profile preserves vastly more dyn... Show More

4K for $1,700-- great buy, great camera
I use this camera for video events, it is a upgrade from my GH3, the GH3 was a upgrade from my GH2 which I sold to use money toward the GH4. The Gh4 does everything better then the GH3 and the GH3 is also a great camera but Gh4 beats it and is future proof with 4K. You can film in 4K and get 8meg stills from frame grabs.

Incredibly Simple to Use
I own a Canon 6D and it takes me roughly a billion seconds to set up for video. This thing is so simple. I added the Wooden Camera A-Box for audio and all I do is pull out this thing, put it on sticks, and hit record. A+

Awesome Camera
I shoot about 50/50 video and stills. I loved the GH3 and this is a great evolution in stills and essentially a revolution in video considering the price point. I'm not a pixel peeper, but my observation is that stills quality is slightly better than the GH3. Auto focus seems much improved in stills modes. There does appear to be a degradation in continuous auto focus performance when in 4K video modes but not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, I'm very happy with the decision to upgrade and would highly recommend the GH4.

Great Camera - Unbeatable for the $$$
The GH4 shoots excellent 4k and HD video. There are tons of options in the menus. I've mostly been testing the various modes/resolutions/bitrates, etc. I haven't used it in the field. I was a Canon user, but I have been swayed. The build is solid. The touch screen is nice and responsive. It's pretty much everything I expected. For the money, it is probably the best option. 4k crops a bit more than HD on the sensor. And rolling shutter is pretty e... Show More
