I am loving it, getting ready to buy another one!
Only had it a few weeks, but had a G7 already, so not much of a learning curve. I love the G85. The autofocus seems much improved over the G7, a little large body. But no limit on recording time. Now, if it only had a headphone jack... As a videogrpaher who has been a long time Canon guy, I am moving to Panasonic as their line of 4k DSLR's are way ahead of anything else. Just read the reviews everywhere. It's not just my opinion. And the kit lens that comes with it is pretty nice too. Not a prime, but descent for sure, (12-60mm).

Works better than expected.
Coming from an APS-C sensor from Canon, I was cautiously optimistic about the quality and light performance of this camera and the kit lens. I have only had it for 2 weeks, and I have used it unprofessionally, but it far exceeded my expectations. I have had no issues with focusing, the quality is superb, even on the kit 12-60mm lens, and the in-camera features are a welcomed addition to my workflow. This is my first mirrorless camera and my first... Show More

Great bang for the buck
Bang for your buck this has to be one of the most feature packed micro 4/3 cameras on the market at this time.

Very Good - not perfect
I am a wedding and event videographer, with a GH4 already in the arsenal as well as several other video cameras. We purchased the G85 to upgrade the equipment of our 2nd shooter, so we rely on it for such things as groom's preps and second camera for photo sessions and ceremony. It excels at just about everything we try use it for in good light, however, during receptions, when the lighting comes down, even with onboard lighting, the autofocus be... Show More

Great For Vlogers and Photographers Alike
This camera comes packed with features. So far I am impressed with how solid the camera feels in my hands. The dual stabilization really makes this camera stand out. This is one of the features that I was really hoping would be as good as advertised. Much better stabilization than the G7. Very good low light performance. This was a selling point for me as much of my videoing is done indoors with sub par light. Lots of other features give this cam... Show More

I made the right decision
I got this, after extensive research, to begin to do instructional videos as well as just use it for family photos. The menus are extensive but easy to figure out and use after a little practice. The touch screen functions are great for those who don't want to spend all their time scrolling. And speaking of the screen, it rotates all the way so you can shoot yourself without guessing if you are in frame. Don't know if I will shoot a lot in $K but... Show More

Excellent choice for prosumer on a budget
I like the menu system and the control button layout. The lack of a second SD card and an earphone outlet is a downside making this camera lean toward consumer rather than pro. With the kit lens it is a very good value. Should I upgrade to the GH5 the lenses will all work. All in all I am pleased with my choice.

Absolutely great camera for the price
I researched the heck out of this camera because I wanted the best option for $1000 or less. I found it in the G85. It makes my old Rebel XTi look like a toy. The menu screens are intimidating and I still mostly have it set to the stock settings, but it's been great. The stock lens really is good, though obviously if you're shooting in low light, you'll want something that goes below a 3.5 aperture. It's small, light and the silent shutter really... Show More

Well Designed; Excellent Video
I've been a long-time Panasonic camera user, really loved their ease of use, ergonomics, and gorgeous color in stills and video. Last year I switched briefly to the pricey Sony RX10 II because it had a headphone jack for video, and it got pretty good reviews. Alas, I never liked it (complicated menus, non-pivoting LCD screen, dimmed screen in 4K mode, etc) and replaced it with the G85. I shoot both video and photos, and the G85 handles both very ... G85 and 12-60 kit lens, great combination
I LOVE this camera dn lens combination. I come from owning G5, GX7, GX85 and now G85. The G85 is the best ergonomics for general shooting and especially wildlife (with the PL100-400). The 12-60 lens features, with this camera, Dual IS 2 stabilization, giving around 4 stops advantage so 1/15 sec exposures are easily handheld. I now have two G85 bodies!

Great camera
It lives up the hype. Very enjoyable to use and I'm not disappointed in the least with image quality on the m4/3 mount. Fits well in the hand and the controls are great.

great camera for the price. Easy learning curve
This camera was my jump into digital cameras with exchangable lenses. I wanted something that could shoot videos for more than 30 minutes, and take great pictures. 4K video capabilities was icing on the cake. And the fact that so many vintage lenses will work with this camera will be no shortage of fun! I have been very pleased with this camera's ability to shoot video and clear pictures. With a 25 mm lens and a lens reversal ring, I almost have ... Show More

Great feeling, great video, good stills with kit lens
The camera body feels good, like a lightweight but well built and solid DSLR. The image stabilization is fantastic, I can shoot some nice videos of baby moving around handheld with one hand only. The kit lens performs well for video, but I don't like it so much for stills.

Good by Gh2 hello G85
I came from a Gh 2 and thought long and hard on rather get the Gh 5 or the Fz 2500 and all the specs. for the G85 was the perfect compromise. Primarily I shot video with my Gh2 but would not like to go down to a half sensor for photos like with the Fz2500. The Gh5 has 20mp but I dont want or need the massive files that are produced from the Gh 5. G85 IBS has worked great with my vintage lenses for photos and video which was always an issue with t... I couldn't be happier with my purchase
I am an experienced wildlife still photographer shooting mainly Nikon but when I wanted to shift into video, I found my Nikon DSLRs just don't have the flexibility to do the task. I looked around for alternatives and the G85 seemed to be just what I needed. Having it now for a few weeks, I can say that I am delighted with the camera. I use dumb adapters for my Nikon lenses and also for a Canon 100-400mm push pull telephoto that I got used from a ... Show More

Average at best Stills Camera, Video Cont. AF is behind
Much better build quality vs the G7, but that isn't saying much. Feels good in the hand, but for this size you'd except better material and punchier buttons. Pleasantly impressed with the 12-60, nice lens which is sharp in the center.

Great and Easy To Use
I have had a lot of fun with this camera. I am not an expert user, but I bought it to take photos and videos of my new baby and to take photos while traveling. I am an amateur user and I use the IA mode as much as I use the manual modes. For background I've previously used the Panasonic G5, the NEX-7, the A6000 and the Oly EM-5. This camera is easily my favorite to use. The stabilization really does work well. The images are very sharp and the mo... Show More

Awesome APO shipment and Product
B&H, I have to say that you earned my trust for overseas delivery. I am deployed currently in the Middle East and the camera + rode mic came well packed and right under two weeks. B&H took very good care to package the equipment and thanks for that. Due to some dumb lithium battery regulation for shipping overseas, B&H was nice enough to install the battery into the camera so that it met the safety regulation for the post office. Just note, it is... Show More
